Chapter Sixty One

Interesting music choice this woman had. It was some old record from the late sixties. It had a psychedelic feel to it and calmed my nerves instantly. The rain pattered outside to the rhythm and Monica danced in the living room. "Come on then, what's music without a dance to it?"

"I don't exactly know what I'm doing," I mentioned.

"Neither do I. Just let it and let out." I marveled at her confidence. If I had just half of what she had... Stepping up to the middle of the room I watched her step out, then together, then turn, then repeat. I wasn't exactly perfect but I attempted it and it seemed good enough for her. All afternoon we danced and listened to whatever else music she had.

"She's gone. It's like she just walked off the face of the earth," Malcolm called over the rain.

"She's not gone!" Angus yelled. He was soaking wet, they both were. Angus had called Malcolm the night before to see if Hannah had headed there. When Malcolm had no idea what he was talking about, they both searched all night for the girl. "She's still here somewhere."

"Angus it's pouring. There's not much else we can do with this weather."

"You can go home then! I'm not gonna stop!" Angus yelled at his brother. "Go ahead and let her leave!"

"Angus, calm down! We're not done searching, but we can't get a-"

"Damn you! Damn it all Mal, you're just giving up?"

"Fucking hell, that's not what I said!"

"So what then, you're giving up then coming back after a few days?"

"Angus!" Angus shook his head and walked away from him. Malcolm ran after him and held him to his spot. "Angus, listen to me! We'll find her but this weather is no good! We have to wait it out."

"B-but she might be-"

"Angus. We have to stop now. We'll find her, I promise." Angus gazed up into his brother's eyes. A little more than rain water ran down his face and he wiped it off.

"Jus' want her back Mal," he choked out.
