Chapter Forty One

"So where'd you go?" I asked as Angus gave me a ride on his back around the room.

"Somewhere top secret. No girls allowed you know." I pouted and rested my chin on his head.

"You know if you've got something to say, you should find a way to say it," I told him.

"I should huh?"

"Yes. I'm getting antsy."

"Well, I guess I could ask you now. But what fun would that be?"

"Angus!"

"What?" I buried my face in his hair.

"Tell me."

"Hey now, I'll decide when to ask. Hold your horses."

"I don't think I can." He set me down and turned to face me.

"I'll make you a deal. I'll ask you tomorrow when we get back to Australia. Can you wait that long?"

"Yes," I sighed.

"Good," he smiled. He kissed my cheek then walked down the hall.

The next day we packed up to head back to Australia. Back to the heat. I thought it was kind of sad we didn't stay in Oregon for Christmas. We didn't usually get snow there, but Christmas is a time for cold weather. I don't blame the boys for wanting to go back home though. I was excited to see Ellen again. And Linda too if she was there.

We boarded the plane and headed back. To my utmost unfortune, it was that time of the month. And I had the privledge of cramping up as soon as we hit air. I curled up in my seat, half dead when Malcolm saw me. "Hey, you okay?"

"Mal, I think I'm dying," I joked.

"Why?"

It's that time."

"That time...oh, oh! Oh you, gonna make it?" He took the seat next to me.

"I think so, just need medicine when we get back."

"Bet Linda or Ellen'll have somethin'. They're women I think." I laughed.

"Will we see Linda when we get back?" I asked hopeful.

"We should, she's my wife after all," he smiled. "Speaking of which, you excited to see Ellen?"

"Of course I am, why wouldn't I be?"

"Well, I'm not so sure Angus is."

"What?!"

"He is, he is. Really. But he's nervous. You know the sacred rule, never keep secrets from your wife?" I nodded. "Well he's gotta tell her your guys' little scandal in the park."

"How did you know about that?"

"He told me. Easier to tell a brother than a spouse sometimes ya' know?" He chuckled. "Damn, after all this time, he still has it for you." I frowned. "Sorry."

"I've heard it all before. I don't want to hear it all again."

"I hear you. He said you were confused."

"I am."

"And you're not mad?"

"Kind of."

"But-"

"I didn't think I was, but it's been a while, I've turned a new leaf. I am mad." Malcolm whistled.

"Figured. Has he said anything about our tour next year?"

"Another one?"

"Yeah, well, the same one just the second part."

"Hasn't said a word."

"Didn't think so." There was a silence for a moment. "You can come with us you know, always room for one more," he smiled.

"Of course I'm coming," I smiled back.

"You know I, just wasn't sure he invited you or not, but since he didn't even tell you..."

"Thank you."

"You feelin' any better?"

"No."

"Sorry to hear that. Yeah I'm sure the ladies back home will have somethin' for you to take."
