Chapter Fifty Nine
"Angus?" I asked walking to the door. He rushed up here and slammed it open so I figured something was wrong. I came out from my closet where I was picking my clothes for the next day. He turned to me, his expression completely terrified.
"Don't ever-ever do that again," he said pulling me into his arms. I patted his back though I didn't know what for.
"What? What's wrong?" Angus shook his head.
"You scared the damn hell out of me, that's what's wrong."
"How?"
"I called Malcolm. He told me what happened."
"I said I would tell you..."
"When huh? Before or after you left again?" He took my face in his hands and put his nose to mine. "Do you know what I felt when I didn't see you? Do you?"
"No." His eyes searched mine for something-anything that said what happened at Malcolm's place wasn't true. I was gonna tell him but I had just gotten back. Wait a while before spilling more problems. He kissed my forehead and hugged me again.
"Don't ever scare me like that again."
"I haven't felt that way since Christmas Eve," I reassured him.
"I didn't know that. You were so quiet I wasn't sure if you were feeling it again or not. And when I didn't see you I-" He drew a shaky breath and let me go. "Come on, let's go to bed."
"I'll be fine I just need-"
"I don't want you sleeping alone."
"Angus please." I couldn't have him sleep in my bed after all Ellen and I had discussed. Sure nothing would happen but that's not a good way to display trust. "Please just-I'll be fine. Don't worry about me." He frowned at me.
"Hannah when you start feelin' like you're gonna leave again and don't fucking tell me I can't help but worry about you." I hung my head defeated. But I was too stubborn to give in yet. "When I go check on you and I can't find you-"
"'M sorry."
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"I was going to but there was enough trouble already." Angus stepped closer to me and I backed up.
"You're in trouble now."
