Chapter Fifteen
Was it just me, or was Angus acting weird? I mean, he's Angus, he's unpredictable. But this was unusual even for him. The next couple of days after that dinner he'd be a little cautious around me. Not scared, he's not scared of me. Just-worried. Always asked if I was okay or if something was bothering me. Watching my every move. The day before I finally gave in.
I needed his help.
"There's someone affiliated with the tour who I'm not especially fond of..." I said. Angus frowned.
"You don't say. Do I know this fellow?"
"Yeah, he's not super close or anything, but you know him."
"What do you mean not super close, who is he?" he asked sitting up in his chair.
"Well, I don't need him on my case because I told you-"
"It's okay, I just want his name." I sighed.
"You remember Mike?"
"Him?" I nodded. "What'd he do?"
"He just-ever since I first met him he's not been that nice. He's assumptuous of the band, thinks he's way better for me than any of you, he makes me uncomfortable and invades my personal space and-" I shook my head.
"How'd he make you uncomfortable?" Angus asked. He sounded a little peeved.
"Back in Paris he had me pinned against the wall, you saw that."
"Sure did. Didn't like it."
"Me either."
"What else?"
"A couple days ago, the last concert, he wanted to spend time with me. He had apologized for coming on too strong, and wanted to make it up to me. Now I didn't really want to, but he seemed pretty honest at the time and I didn't want to be rude. So I agreed. He led me to a back room, the lounge room I think. Course there's a bed in there. I was lying next to him rather uneasy and he asked about you. He assumed we were together or something and wasn't very nice toward you."
"Doesn't matter so much to me about what he thinks of me. Truth is I don't care for him either. Picks on my girl too much. That's my job," he smiled. I smiled back. "But what does matter is that he's making you uneasy. That I'm not okay with. What else he done?"
"When we had dinner a few days ago it seemed he and Jackson- well Jackson had nothing to do with it, Mike seemed to have found us, or rather me on purpose. Like he's stalking me or something. Then when you put your hand on mine, thank you by the way."
"Mm-hmm."
"He brushed- his foot over my leg, and he's been so on me about you and I. I didn't want him thinking anything to stick on me with so I pulled away. Then I left for some fresh air and out he comes." Angus looked ahead and shook his head.
"I was about to follow you but he stopped me. Shouldn't have let him."
"Then he had me pinned against the wall again and just-touched me in ways I'm not okay with."
"Glad you told me."
"I mentioned it to Cliff too, just asked him for advice."
"Yeah he told me."
"He did?"
"Came to Mal first, told all of us couple days before. All thought you meant me," Angus said sounding relieved.
"Why you?"
"We're close. Who else could it have been?" Angus stood up and began gathering his stuff. Both of us were way behind on packing for our next stop in Hamburg Germany. Our car was coming this evening so we'd been getting ready that morning.
"That's true. But then again, why would it be you? We're so close and there's no one else I like as much. It'd be obvious that it wasn't you."
"Well I didn't know that. Didn't want to ask until I was sure. Now I am sure of something else though."
"What?" He turned to face me.
"You're my best friend," he smiled. I smiled back and got up to hug him. He pulled away keeping his hands on my shoulders. "Now... I don't want you feeling uncomfortable like that anymore, that's not an option."
"Well I'm meeting with him tomorrow, I'll confront him then. I have to take responsibility myself sometimes, just needed the courage to do it."
"You're sure you got this handled?" he asked concerned.
"Sure, I gotta try this myself, if it doesn't work, we'll make plan b."
"Plan b is me kickin' his ass."
"Plan c is breaking out of jail."
"We're both in jail?"
"Yep. I held him for you." He laughed which made me laugh.
"Mike doesn't deserve you. I don't care who or what he's related to or even how hard he works, he's not for you."
"I don't believe anyone's right for me in your eyes," I smiled.
"No," he answered. "I just-can't let go of you yet." I gave him another hug and he gladly returned it. "Hey. You tell me if he hurts you. Okay?"
"Okay." We continued packing our stuff to go to Germany.
