Chapter Eighty Four

"What the hell is going on?" Cliff asked, eyes shifting back and forth between us. Angus stood behind him. His gaze was locked solely on me.

"Honey we-I need to tell you something," Georganne stepped up. Cliff looked at her with concern.

"What's wrong, you feel okay?"

"Hey Williams! You know when you set your drink down, you could set it on a coaster instead of my stuff!" Phil yelled down the hall getting closer.

"Sorry Phil, uh I was just-"

"What the hell is that?" Phil caught sight of the item in my hand.

"Is that a pregnancy test?" Cliff asked his wife.

"Yeah. It is."

"You're pregnant again Hannah?" Phil asked.

"My God Phil, no!" I said running a hand over my head.

"Then why do you have that, hmm?" Angus asked putting his hands on his hips. "Answer me that, Hannah Ruth."

"You're leavin' us out on the party over here?" Brian asked. Malcolm tailed him and went over to stand by his brother. "We're here to listen to Phil bitch at you lot."

"I'm not the one who's bitching anymore fellas," Phil mumbled looking over his shoulder. "Your brother's turn, Mal."

"Why, what happened?" Angus didn't answer. He looked at me expecting to explain myself.

"See for yourself." Phil stepped aside so my hand was the center of attention.

"For real this time?" Malcolm asked.

"How long were you two in your room for?" Phil inquired looking at Angus.

"You did this?" Malcolm asked.

"And the bitching starts," Brian said from the back.

"To hell with you lot, I didn't do this!" Angus yelled. His eyes were frantic, like he knew it wasn't his, but he didn't like the idea of it being someone else's.

"It's not mine!" I yelled at the group. Why did the cup have to be in my hand?

"Like we're gonna believe that again, it's right in your hand!" Phil gestured. "Speaking of which, I thought you pissed on those, not soak 'em in water."

"Aw, what do you know about pregnancy tests Phil?" Malcolm asked.

"More than you!"

"Ask Hannah, she's the one who used it," Brian suggested. Aggrivated, I took Georganne's hand and forced the cup into it. I lay down on the floor and put a throw pillow from the couch on my face.

"It's mine!" Georganne shouted over the racket. Cliff immediately shot a look to his wife. Slience filled the doorway faster than silence should. And it wasn't a calm one. Angus glanced over at the couple once in a while mainly watching Hannah lay on the floor.

"This-this is yours?" Cliff asked. He gently took his wife's hand in his. She nodded and wiped her cheeks of the incoming tears. He helped her wipe them away and tilted her head up. "What-did it say?"

Georganne could only nod. Instantly she was in his arms being spun through the air. The men in the doorway cheered them on, excited from the recent news. A new edition to the family was on the way.

"You're really happy?" Georganne choked out, wiping her eyes as Cliff set her down.

"Of course I am! Babe, this is incredible! You did it!"

She giggled as he kissed her on the cheek. "Actually, we did it."

"You did most of the work. How far along are you?"

"I don't know I mean, from what I can guess, maybe two weeks?"

"That sounds right," Cliff considered searching the air. His smile returned and his wife finally gave one in reply.

"Holy shit guys, that's great!" Brian said from the back of the group. The small space was limiting their celebration.

"Let's all step out of this door area, go somewhere for a bit of a jam," Malcolm suggested.

"That sounds great!" Cliff said heading out. He stopped short and turned to face Georganne. "Oh honey, are you up to it? You don't have to you know, if you feel gross but-I'd like it if you came. It is your party after all but that doesn't mean-"

"Cliff! Shut the cake hole, let her talk then, huh?" Phil said, an amused look spreading. Cliff gave the woman a sheepish grin.

"So what do you say?"

"Let's head out!"

The group was howling as they headed down the hall, somewhere to celebrate. Georganne was happy, Cliff was happy, and that's all that mattered. A baby was on the way!

Now we had to find out what the gender was. Hopefully a girl, that way Georganne could use that shirt she bought at the baby depot. If it was a boy, the guys would all teach him how to be one of them, which wasn't always the best thing. I'd probably never get any time with him. But if she were a girl, the boys would be in love with her. They'd spoil her silly that's what. Not to say I wouldn't do the same. Still, I'd never get any time with her.

I shook my head. That was selfish of me. It wasn't my baby to coddle. If anyone got time with him/her, it was his/her parents. Though I couldn't help but feel worried they wouldn't need me around as a babysitter.

"You need help?" I removed the pillow from my face.

"How'd you guess?"

"Had a feelin'." Angus grasped my hand in his and pulled me off the floor. His pull was purposefully strong and I landed into his arms from the momentum. I looked up to thank him and noticed his eyes still held that same mischievous glint as they did fifteen years ago. They sparkled with misconduct, and he wanted me to know.

They were like oceans. Imagine a vast sea. You're holding a shell, hollow and polished. This shell holds the world's deepest secrets. One whisper, and you drop the shell in the middle of that ocean. It disappears twenty thousand leagues below, leaving nothing behind.

They were impressive.

Angus laughed bringing me back. "You're a funny one." He ruffled my hair and headed out to follow the rest.

"Wait for me, I'm coming!" I set out after him and raced him to the elevator.

I won by the way.
