22. Troublemaker.

Nat stuffed his hand in his pocket as Cam dragged him into the gym where the dance was being held. It was dark inside with a bright star and moon theme. Nat watched Cam eyes go big as she looked around, “Wow, it's so pretty.”, she said.

“Yeah, it's nice.”, he said and she dragged me again towards a table where Kim and Ray was sitting together. Kim ex boyfriend Chris was sitting next to Kim but his back was turned to her and he was on his phone.

“Cam, look how amazing you look!”, Ray said excitedly as she got up from the chair and wrapped her arms around Cam. “Look like a princess.”

Cam chuckled, “Thanks. Baby blue looks amazing on you. Who did you come with?”

“Oh, I'm here alone.”, she said, scuffing and giggling. “I can have fun without a date. I can always dance with you and Kim.”

“Until some boys ask you to dance and their dates get even more jealous of you.”, Cam said.

“Me do that?”, Ray innocently asked as she giggled. “Never. Nat, look how handsome you look. I think I might never see you so dress formerly before.”

“Get the January GQ magazine, I’m on it and you can hang it up on your wall if it helps.”, Nat sarcastically said.

“I second that, Ray, we will never see Nat this dress nicely for awhile again.”, Cam said and both girls giggle. Nat lightly pinched Cam's arms and she made a squealing sound, hitting him on his arm back. “Jerk.”

“Button nose.”, he came back and she gasped, bring her hand up to her nose. He chuckled and wrapped his hand around her wrist, moving her hand, “A cute button nose.”

Even in the dim room, he could see her face heating up and Ray spoke, “Aww, how cute!”

Cam went over and sat next to Kim, they both said how pretty they looked like any normal girls and he took the seat next to Cam, wondering what to do now. Cam was off talking with her friend and he. . .well, he wanted her attention to be on him. He didn't really have friends here but Ray but she was gossiping with Cam and Kim. Dan stayed home even though many girls asked him to play video games with KC and Kyle.

He looked around the gymnasium and everyone was doing the same thing. Dancing, talking, eating, and having fun. He felt so out of place since school dances were never his things, he has done allot more partying then a school dance before.

When Nat looked back at the entrance of the gymnasium, Seth has walked in with some of his friends. He was laughing with them until he felt Nat's gaze and looked towards his direction. They both quickly glared at each other. Nat was wondering what he was doing here because he obviously doesn't have a date.

Seth was the first to look away as he followed his friends to the other side of the room.

“Nat?”, he heard Cam's voice and he quickly turned around to face her, giving him a smile so she wouldn't ask him what's wrong. He saw the confused look on her face but smiled back at him when he has no stress on his face. She poked his arm, “What were you staring at?”

He shrugged, “Nothing, just looking around since you're being mean and ignoring me.”

She giggled and wrapped her arm around his, “I am not! See, I'm holding onto you.”

His smile turned real and he leaned down, kissing her forehead, “Good.”

“I-I really think this is a bad idea, Cam.”, Nat said as Cam grabbed his arm and dragged him out onto the dance floor where the slow song played. He awkwardly stood there and stuffed his hands in his pockets as she frowned.

“What? What's wrong?”, she asked. Her eyes then widen, “You still can't slow dance?”, she asked as she giggled a little and he glared at her, making her quickly shut up. She cleared her throat and took his hands, putting one of them around her waist and held the other hand in her hand, “It's easy, just one step side to side. No one will be watch. . .”, she trailed off when she looked around and notice some people were staring, interested to see what will happen. “Ignore them.”

“I'll look stupid, Cam.”, he said.

“We'll look stupid together.”, she said as she pressed herself against him.

“I rather not look stupid with you.”, he said. “What if someone takes a picture and send it off to a gossip sight? I'll look stupid by not being able to slow dance.”

“Dang, you really care what people think about you.”, she said.

He quickly scuffed and snorted, “No I don't, I don't care what anyone says about me!”, he defensively said.

She smiled, “Good, now move.”, she said and he glared at her for getting him like that. He took a deep breath and awkwardly looked away as he let her lead, feeling dumb since it was the guy who's suppose to lead the girl. He can dance to everything else, but slow dancing—not so much. He thought it was a pointless dance and very awkward, which is why he never learned.

He finally looked down at Cam after a few moments and she smiled at him, making him loosen up, tighten his arm around her. She smiled bigger and laid her head on his shoulder, taking her hand out of his to rest of his chest. He brought his other hand around her waist.

He looked around and noticed only a people were watching now. He breathed out happily and laid his cheeks against Cam's head. Her arms went around his neck and he couldn't help but admit she smelt very good. Most of the girls he knew would bath themselves in expensive perfume that he could taste inside his mouth but Cam smelt like vanilla. Cam never wore perfume either, which surprised him.

When the song ended, Cam pulled away a little, “See, that wasn't so bad.”

He gave her a half grin, “I guess not.”

“One more.”, she said, wrapping her arms around his neck when the next song came on.

Cam heard Nat curse behind her and she turned around confused to see him hitting his phone against the table, then looking at the screen, “I have no damn signal.”, he said. “And my game wont play.”

She chuckled and reached out, taking the phone from him, “I think Candy Crush will survive without you a little longer.”

“It keeps me busy.”, he said, snatching it right back from her and she frowned, making her bottom lip pout.

She thought of something and smiled, wrapping her arms around his left one, hugging it and put her chin on his shoulder, “Sorry if I've been distance tonight, I didn't go to school dances for the past two years because I was always alone and felt like the third wheel. I don't you don't have any friends—“, she got cut off when he scuffed, “but you haven't even tried being friendly to allot of mine yet.”

“Everyone hates me, they think I'm ashamed of this town.”, he said, setting his phone down.

“You did say in a magazine that you were happy to get out of here.”, she said, shrugging her right shoulder. “Kind of made it sound like you hated this town and everyone in it.”

“I. . .okay, so I didn't want to come back but that was before. It's my home.”, he said.

“Nat, your a totally different guy now and I know it.”, she said. “You just gotta show people of storm that you do care?”

“Like?”, he asked. “Give money to build a new church or something? I think Storm has enough.”

“I think they would love that but no. I don't know, my mom works with the people at her church on a food bank. You could help them set up and package the food for everyone.”, she said.

He laughed, “You're funny, I could get people to do that though.”, he said.

“I'm not joking, Nat.”, she said and he stopped. “Come on, it'll be good and nice thing to do for the community. God will give you good karma and He knows how much you need that.”

He groaned, “I don't want to do that though. Anyways, I don't know what I did to deserve all this bad karma.”

“I can think of twenty things you did.”, she said and he gave her a 'whatever' look making her chuckle. “Come on, it'll show Storm how much of a different guy you are now.”

“If it gives me good karma.”, he breathed out heavenly and looked at her. “No one could pressure me into doing something like that so easily but you.”

Her cheeks blushed up but she smiled at him and he lowered his head to kiss her, but suddenly a hand slapped down on his shoulder, “Hey Nat.”, she heard Kyle voice. Cam looked at Nat confused and he gave her the same look back before they both turned their heads to look up at Kyle who was in a light blue bottom shirt and white dress pants. He grinned, “Can I join the table?”

Her mouth dropped as she quickly turned her head around and saw Kim's mouth opened. She looked like someone seriously slapped her and she froze right there with her mouth hanging open. Chris wasn't next to her anymore, he was over with some friends talking with them, that's why Cam had been talking to her so Kim wouldn't feel so alone even though Chris came with her, but only because he had paid for both their tickets.

Kyle looked at Kim, “Told you I'll come. You didn't believe me, huh?”

Kim's mouth moved like she was about to talk but nothing came out.

Kyle moved over to the spot next to Kim and she scooted her chair away, “You know, I never been to my school dances, not even prom. I was only looking forward to graduation and tonight just seemed so perfect. Gotta live all your school experiences—even if your not in school anymore.”

“Leave.”, Kim finally said. “If Chris's see you, he'll cause something and I wont get embarrassed because of you!”

“I think little Christopher smart enough to know you wouldn't like that and not cause something, right Kimmy?”, he asked.

“His name is Christian and don't call me that.”, she hissed. “How'd you get my number, you never answered me?”

“Oh, that was easy. You can learn anything when your in a famous band like Sons of Adam. Asked one person from your dance group and they give me them with a little cost of Drake tickets.”, he said.

“Kyle, don't start anything.”, Nat said. “If you ruin Kim's night, you'll ruin Cam's and I wont let that happen because Rob has my ass already for canceling making the video.”

“Why, what a string of problems.” Cam sarcastically said.

“I'm not going to start anything.”, Kyle innocently shrugged. “I came to a school dance, I didn't know that was a problem. If I seemed to remember, I had asked Ella Johnathon to the school dance—“

“Oh God, here we go again.”, Nat said as he breathed out heavenly and rolled his eyes.

“But you want to jet out to LA to start of music career, you knew how badly it took me courage to ask her to the dance and she actually said yes? She was pissed because it was three days before the dance and she didn't know who to go with anymore.”, he asked.

“Oh come on, last I heard she got knocked up a year ago. That could have been you.”, Nat said. “It's not even like you were in love with her.”

“So, I still could have had a girlfriend! No, I got one time stands with girls who breath smelled like bad cigarettes and cheap perfume.”, he said. He leaned back in the chair and got himself comfortable, “So, if you don't mind, I’m going to enjoy myself.

“Don't get to comfortable.”, Chris said as he came up behind Kyle and Kyle froze before he grinned.

Kyle turned his head, “Oh hey Chris, how's it going?”

“Get up.”, Chris said as he looked like he tried to control his anger.

“Eh, nah. I'm perfectly comfortable—but oh? Was this your seat? Sorry, move your feet, lose your seat.”, he said.

“I said get up.”, Chris said, his voice getting a little bit hard. “You have been on my last damn nerve and you're face is pissing me off.”

Kyle smiled innocently, “Are you still mad because I told you I kissed your girlfriend back in LA?”, he asked and Kim gasped, bring her hands up to her face to hide.

“Kyle!”, Nat hissed at his friend. “Stop being such a prick, get up, and move.”

Kyle raised his eyebrows to Nat and he chuckled, but got up, “Okay, I'll get up. Kim, do you want to dance?”, he asked and she dropped her arms to glare at him.

“Go awa—“, she didn't even finish before he grabbed her arm and hauled her out the seat, dragging her to the crowd of people dancing.

Cam saw Chris take a step forward but Cam quickly spoke, “Chris, don't!”, she said and he paused, looking at her with such anger. “Don't start a scene, it'll make her even more upset.”

Chris breathed heavily out his nose and he stalked out of the gymnasium.

Cam took one looked at Kim who looked so pissed as she slow danced with Kyle. Cam turned to Nat and sighed, “What a night.”

“I didn't know he was coming, Cam.”, Nat said.

She nodded, “I believe you. I just can't believe he came here.”

“He must really like Kim more then I thought to do something like this.”, he said.

“It would be cute if I didn't support her to be with Chris. They've been together way to long for them to break up.”, she said.

Nat reached out and rubbed her arm, “Lets just stay out of their business—even though I know your a noisy girl.”, he said, making them both grin at each other. “Kim didn't get noisy in your business so don't get in hers.”

“How are you smarter then me when it comes to things like this?”, she asked.

“Because I'm awesome like that.”, he said and she snorted, but smiled at him.

He leaned over to kissed her, but someone had walked passed them, catching Cam's attention. She turned her head and realized it was Seth and he turned his head around to look at Cam once before turning it back around, walking out of the gymnasium.

Her eyebrows furrowed together, “How long have he been here?”

Nat shrugged, “Who knows.”, he said, not really sounding as surprised to see Seth was here, making her a little curious but she didn't have time to ask before her phone went off in her purse.

As she took it out, people around she noticed were checking their phones, gasping and looked excited before leaving the gymnasium. She finally got her phone out and saw it was a message.

Chris Tailor is beating some guy car up!! Come quickly!

Her eyes widen, “Oh, my God. Chris!”, she groaned as she got up and Nat followed behind her as she left the gymnasium, hurrying down the hall but carefully so she wouldn't fall. When she made it to the entrance of the door, she pushed the door opened and in the parking lot was a crowd of people. She looked at Nat confused and he looked confused to.

She jumped when she heard a smash sound and she knew it was really bad as she quickly walked over to the parking lot, pushing away people to get through. When she got through, she jumped back when a piece of glass flew her way but it missed her.

“Chris!”, she shockingly said and he stopped beating Kyle's navy blue car with a metal bat. “What the hell are you doing!?”

“This is all his fault!”, Chris said before he swung at the nice car.

“Dude, stop it!”, Nat said as he walked towards Chris but Chris took a step back, glaring at Nat.

“It's your stupid friend fault!”, he said before slamming the bat on the already cracked and it actually broke through.

“Okay, okay! You're right, it is his fault and I'm sorry for what he did! Kyle's can be an idiot, but we all do things we don't mean to do.”, Nat said. “Trust me, I do allot of stupid things but we shouldn't handle it this way. Give me the bat before you hurt someone.”

“I plan to hurt your band member, better look for a new drummer.”, Chris said before he hit the side of the car. He hit the same spot again and again before hitting the side view mirror.

“Hey!”

“Chris!”, Kim's voice was heard as her and Kyle made it threw the one.

Kyle took one look at his car and he looked like he almost fainted right there before looked at Chris and his face burned red with anger.

Oh no.
