14. A Little To Not Over You.
“Get away from my school.”, Nat said as he forced his way threw the crowd of people taking pictures of him. Weird, yesterday there were only two people bugging questions, he wondered what their nose wanted to dig into now.
One of the six people taking his picture had asked him a question that caught his attention, but he wasn't sure if he heard him right. Nat paused and face the over weight guy, “What did you say?”, he asked.
The guy looked amused, “I heard your becoming a daddy, Nat. How is that? I heard she's almost three and half months now.”
Nat mouth opened a little as the paparazzi began asking question, their voicing drowning out as he thought of the only person. Amber.
He turned around and went back into the school where he was safe since they weren't aloud to come in. He looked around for Amber as he made his way towards the gymnasium. Some of Amber friends were cheerleaders and knowing Amber type, she would be there to watch them. She had to give up dance club and cheerleader wasn't gonna happen.
Even though he should be worried about if he did get Amber pregnant, he has this sure feeling in his stomach that it isn't. He heard on his first day Amber got around a lot and even one of her own friends admitted she didn't even know who was the father.
She wasn't gonna pin this baby on him.
When he found her in the gym watching the cheer squad, he opened the door and her head snapped towards him. A small smile appeared on her face and got up, “Nat.”
He turned his head and looked at the group of girls who were watching him now. Even though he loved causing scenes, right now wasn't one of those times when he was the one being made to look like an idiot.
“I need to talk to you.”, he said.
She just smile bigger and nodded, coming over towards him and followed him as he walked over to the library. He opened the door and went down a few bookshelf so they were hidden. He turned around and she looked very amused as she smiled up at him.
“Why did you tell me them.”, he asked, his voice hard.
She shrugged and chuckled, “They were gonna find out you were gonna be a father someway or another.”
“I'm not the father!”, he hissed. “I be hearing you four or five months! You don't look like your three months pregnant!”, he said, looking down at her stomach that was poking out her Navy Hollister hoodie
The amused look disappeared from her face with anger and she hit him in the chest with the palm of her hand, “Your saying I'm fat?”
“I'm saying I'm not your kid dad.”, he said. “God, why did I have to sleep with you? I was never even attracted to you before or after.”
Her mouth dropped angrily and her purse slid off, “Your joking, right? I'm the most hottest chicks in this town! You were luckily! You may be Nat Bynes to the world but your nothing here! But you would have fuck any girl that open their legs for you, Nat! This is karma coming back to bite you in the ass!”
“Your using this child as your credit card! I wont let you make me out to look like a fool, Amber. I know this isn't my kid, word goes around this school fast that you were seeing this college guy at the end spring and he dumped you when he left to go back to New York.”, he said. “Maybe it's his.”
“I'm not an idiot, Nat! I know the father of my child is.”, she said.
“Really? I'm not so sure about that.”, he said. “I'm not going to let you ruin my reputation, Amber.”
“What reputation?”, she hissed. “A spoiled drug addicted rock star.”
“I've been clean over a month now.”, he said. “I've met so many girls like you, Amber, all over the world.”, he chuckled, amused now by her little game. “Thought opening your legs for was easy? This child turns out not to be mine, your father better have a pretty good lawyer.”
With that, he walked around her and left. Okay, so maybe bring up lawyers was a little far because even he hated dealing with court crap. It was just mostly to see her shock look before he left. Amber wasn't going to make him look like idiot, she's the last person in the world he would ever to make him look like an idiot.
Okay, maybe second. Seth Evans was the first.

Cam was waiting by Nat's car, waiting for him to show up. He offered to drive her to dance club this morning and she accepted, she was now just waiting for him. She was confused though what was taking him so long. She had gone out the side way of school, so the noisy reporters hadn't seen her yet. She was shocked to see they're were a whole bunch of them again. Nat said they wouldn't stick around long, but it's been four days. Very strange.
Blonde hair appeared in the corner of her eyes and she looked up to see Seth making his way over towards her. Her back stiffened a little when she stood up straight against the hood of Nat's car. Seth was in his usual dark blue jeans and flannel shirt.
“Hey.”, he said. His deep southern voice was so familiar to her, but yet, he looked like a stranger and it hasn't even been a week.
“Hey.”, she said back, sounding a little awkward. She was confused why he had come over here, she was wondering what he would want to talk about.
“I'll just get it out—I miss you, Cam.”, he said and she stood there a little frozen, not sure how to really reply to him. She wasn't really surprise, she just wasn't sure how to answer him. Was she suppose to say she missed him back? She did miss him, Seth was always there to listen to her about her family drama and she did have fun to being around him. She was just still hurting a little from realizing he was doing drugs, lied to her about the necklace, and God know what else. “I know I was a jerk Sunday, I was just pissed off from what Nat had said.”
“Seth. . .”, she began, but wasn't sure what she was going to say. “We had both lied to each other.”. He gave her a confused look and opened his mouth to ask what she meant, but she reached in her dress and pulled out the necklace, “You didn't buy me this, Nat did.”
He stared at the necklace for a second before looking back up at her, “I know and it was wrong—you were just so happy that morning I didn't want to ruin it! I mean, you said you loved me, you would have never said it if you knew I didn't really get it for you.”
“I would have be fine with the truth though.”, she said.
“What was he doing getting you a necklace anyways!”, he said. “You were my girlfriend, not his.”
“I don't know why he got it for me!”, she said but she really did know why. She just wasn't going to share it with Seth. “And what about TJ, huh?”
Shock appeared on his face, “W-what?”
“I know you be getting high with him, Seth.”, she spat, getting angry. Okay, she knew she did terribly wrong by kissing Nat in the beginning and even on Sunday, she feels so horrible about it, but Seth of all people should have known TJ was bad news! He's what broke up her first relationship. “Don't try and lie about it, Seth, I know it's true. I had wonder about it before when I would smell you sometimes, but when I found out it was true, it hurt me.”
“I-I was just trying stuff out! It was nothing to big, Cam. Not like how far Nat have gone—“
Her eyes squeezed shut with frustration, “This isn't about Nat, this is about us.”, she said, her voice hard. “TJ is the person who broke Nat and I up, why would you ever become buddies with him? He's scum.”
“I-I—Cam, it's not what it looks like! Okay, I went to one party one Friday—“ he said, making her eyes widen. She didn't know about a party he went to. “It was when you were in LA and I kind of have gotten pressured into smoking some weed—but I'm fine! It's not like I'm addicted to it or anything.”
“You know how I feel about drugs though.”, she said. “And it came from TJ.”
“I'm not friends with TJ, I never listen to anything he says.”, he defended himself.
“No, he's just your suppler.”, she hissed. “What about the pain killers, huh? You can become addicted to them.”
“Nat offered to give me ten grand for me to leave you alone!”, he said and her mouth dropped as she gave him a confused look, shocked at what he was saying. No, he was lying. He lied before, what makes he's not lying now? “It's true, this morning he came up to my locker and offered me ten thousand dollars so I would leave you alone, but I didn't take it because I love you, Cam. I want us to get back together.”
She brought her hand up to her forehead and groaned. She was so angry right now at the both them now. She isn't something to sell! Nat just can't buy her like she was item. Nat needs to realize not everything can be settle with money! Seth wasn't any better though because he had lied to her, but neither was she. She was just getting a headache now by everything.
“Also—Cam,”, he said, grabbing her wrist of the hand that was on her forehead to move it to look at her serious, “I heard he's the father of Amber Hills baby.”
Her whole body went ice cold and she pushed him away, drawing attention from the few people in the parking lot, “Your messed up, Seth.”, she said.
“It's true!”, he said. “She told one of the reporters he was, I'm only telling you what I heard.”
“It isn't true.”, she hissed, angry by what he was saying. No, not Nat, he would never.
“Nat's a playboy, he sleeps with every girl that throws herself at him.”, Seth said. “What makes Amber any different from them?”
She was starting to feel hurt by what she learned. No, it just can't be true that Nat the father of her child! Nat would have told her if he slept with her and there could have been a chance. If Nat really cared about her and wanted to get back together, he wouldn't hid something like this!
Right?
Nat wasn't the same truthful person he was when he was fifteen. Nat was a totally different person, of course he wouldn't tell her something like that. The thought made her sick in her stomach. Nat was the father of Amber baby, Cam wasn't going to become some stepmother! Nat should take his responsibility and make it work with Amber and leave Cam the hell alone! He needs to stop messing with her head so much!
And she needs to stop falling for it.
She saw Nat in the corner of her eyes and she looked up at him. He looked a little worried as he walked over and she glared at him, making he freeze half way towards her. He looked at Seth and they glared at each other, but she didn't really even care.
She turned away and began walking home, not sure if she could really make it to practice now with what she just heard. She heard Nat call her name.
“No, don't think about it.”, she heard Seth.
*
Nat pushed Seth hands away from him and he gave Seth a dangerous look, “What did you say to her.”, he hissed.
“What she would have found out later about Amber.”, he said and Nat's hands balled up in fist, ready to punch the life out of Seth. “Couldn't just keep it in your pants, huh?'
“You have no right!”, Nat yelled, causing a lot of unwanted attention but he was so wound up, he couldn't hold it back. “That wasn't your place, Seth! Amber child isn't mine!”
Before Seth couldn't even speak, Nat did something he been holding back far to long. He punched Seth around the face but Seth came back quickly as his shoulder rammed into Nat's stomach, knocking Nat to the ground.
Nat just started hitting everywhere he could at Seth who was doing the same thing. Nat finally wrapped an around Seth's hand and would the help of his right foot, tossed them over and threw a quick punch in Seth face, stopping Seth as his hand came up to his face to block Nat fist.
Nat quickly heard the sound of clicking and snapping of camera, but he didn't care really. He just kept punching Seth in the face.
“Nat, stop!”, he heard Cam's voice, making his head quickly snapped up as Cam ran away, pushing him away. Nat got up as Cam bent down, touching a bloody face Seth shoulder. She looked up at him with so much angry he never saw before on her, “Are you crazy!”
The sound of clicking and snapping of camera was just pissing Nat off more. He turned around to the people, “Stop it!”, he yelled. “Goddamnit!”
“I just want to get out of here.”, he heard Seth's voice and Nat quickly turned around, watching as Cam helped Seth up. Seth looked at Nat, taking his hand away from his bloody nose, “You should have just stayed where you belonged.”, he said and walked away with an arm around Cam over to his old car.
“Damnit!”, Nat hissed, hitting his car as he walked over to the driver side and got in, leaving.
