Chapter 7
" Baby... Hon... Come on, wake up..."
Paul's voice rang in Diane's head, as she began to stir, and wake up slowly. She opened her eyes and smiled weakly. Paul was already fully dressed, and clean, as Diane noticed.
" Where you goin'" she asked, sitting up and rubbing her sleepy eyes.
" I gotta do some work with the lads. But, don't worry. We'll be back around noon." He kissed her cheeks and left the room.
Diane shuffled out of bed and pulled a robe on. She made her way down stairs and turned to go into the kitchen. She pulled a mug from the cupboard, and poured herself a cup of hot water for her tea.
Cynthia came in with Julian in her arms. " Mornin'..." She said.
" Mornin'." Replied Diane.
" Are you alright?" Cyn asked, setting Julian in his high chair and fixing his breakfast.
Diane nodded and took a long sip. She tucked her hair back behind her ears and listened silently as Cynthia hummed sweetly to the little one. She began to spoon some of his food into his mouth, as Diane watched.
" Do you want some tea?" She offered.
" That would be lovely, Ann." Cyn smiled.
After a while the two women moved to the living room, and watched some television. There was an old classic that the both loved. Between Diane and Cynthia, they were like sisters. Not just The Beatles' lovers.
" How are you and Paul?" Cynthia asked, keeping her eyes on the Telly.
" Fine... How are you and John?" Diane replied, sipping the last of her tea.
" Oh... We're doin' just great." She responded, smiling widely and patting her knee.
They just small talked for a while and watched some television a bit more. The two girls spent most of the day doing this, nothing really happened. Soon, they became a bit bored and decided that they should go out.
They got dressed and ready and were on their way to go. The two stepped out and began to walk to their cab that they called.
" Should we stop by the studio and see them?" Asked Diane.
" Uh... I dunno. I mean, the boys are workin'. I dunno if they would like it if we interupted." Implied Cynthia.
" Oh, it'll be fine! I pretty sure they'd be thrilled to see us, plus we could possibly take 'em out to lunch." Diane suggested.
And they were off! They drove to the small studio in which the four men recorded their music. It was no Abbey Road Studios, but at least it was close to home. They arrived and had to go through security, in case any crazy fan tried getting in. And when they entered, all they boys' heads turned to their attention.
Paul smiled and placed his bass down to wrap his arms around his girl's waist. Cynthia walked over to John and pecked his lips quickly to tell him something inaudible.
" So! Love, what are you and Cyn doin' here?" Asked Paul, as he lifted Diane to sit on his lap.
" We're gunna take you boys out to lunch." Diane told him, twirling her fingers in his hair, and touching noses with him.
" Oooh... I can't wait. What do you both have in mind?" Paul asked.
Diane just shrugged as she began to kiss his tender lips. She felt her gut flutter as she close her eyes with the feeling of happiness. The two didn't notice, but John, being the joker that he is, snuck up behind them and scared them.
" JOHN! Geez...." Paul sighed and rubbed his head. Diane was clutching Paul tightly and began chuckling after realizing it was John.
" Come on you two! I'm SOO hungry!" Whined George, who was already out the door.
Everyone exited the studio in a buzz, and entered the large cab that Diane and Cynthia came in with. The sleek leather that was stretched across the plush seats, made everyone comfortable, considering that it was cold and wet outside.
" We should have Chinese." Suggested George.
" What about Italian!" Budded in John, who was cuddled with Cynthia and the baby.
Everyone made different variations of " No".
" I think we'll just have Chinese.... Hey mister! Y' know any good places?" Paul asked the cab driver.
" Yes, sir!" He responded politely, smiling.

They were taken to this very traditional oriental restraurant, that seemed quite decent.
The group exited the cab and were seated at a table. They were guaranteed that there wouldn't be any disturbances, so they didn't really have to fuss about being quick. Ringo nudged Diane's elbow and whispered that Paul was drooling. They both chuckled cheekily, making Paul frown.
" What?"
" Paul, darling. You're dribbling." She whispered to him.
He blushed a bit and quickly wiped it off. " Sorry... I can't help it that you're so beautiful. I could stare a you for days!" He exaggerated.
" Yeah, well stare at the menu, will ya!" Diane told him, making him pout.
" Hey... Maybe later on, we can go to the pictures and maybe chill." Paul whispered in her ear, his moist breath brushing against her ear. She squinted her eyes and smirked at him, in an irritated way, before nodding low-key and patting his hand assuringly.
The rest of lunch was relaxed and actually humorous. George tried teaching John and Ringo how to use chopsticks ( which failed). The waiter only got Paul's order wrong at least two times. And Ringo had a little fall on his way to the restroom, which was quite amusing to them all.
Their lunch ended, and they all decided to head home. All accept Paul and Diane. Of course, they stuck to their plans to go see a film. They heard of this film festival that was happening in strawberry fields, so they decided to go. Paul held his girl's hand as they walked to a spot to lay down on. Paul laid on his side, while Diane rested her head on his stomach.
The first two films were really sad, making Diane tear up. By the third film, she was crying softly. Paul held her close and kissed her cheek. The fourth was a short film about an Indian love story. It was about a boy and a girl falling in love, but then the girl is taken away. Years later, the two end up having different lives, where the boy (now a man) works with livestock, and the girl ends up being a princess. They find each other and fall in love, not knowing that they've already met. The both realize this and fall even more in love. The film ended with an applause following it.
A couple of films later, it was late at night, and the two were both walking to John and Cynthia's. Paul held her hand and swung it as they walked. Diane kissed his cheek and began to run.
" Race ya to the house!!!" She yelled playfully. Paul giggled as he chased her. She kicked her heels off, slowing Paul down by having him pick them up. She turned her head as she ran faster and faster, making nearly impossible to catch up to her. She stopped dead in the middle of a crossing. Turning around to wait for him.
She waved her arms at him, signaling him to hurry up. He was about a block away when he noticed a car coming her way. His eyes grew wide as he dropped everything and ran as fast he could to her. She turned her head to the direction of the fast driving vehicle.
Luckily, Paul came on time and pulled her out of the way. They both panted with hearts beating faster and faster. Paul cursed out the reckless driver as he sped away. Paul carried Diane to a bench, where they both rested to catch their breath.
" Are you alright, Ann?" He asked her.
She nodded and kissed his cheek.
" Thank you for saving me, Paulie." Diane smiled sweetly. She wrapped her arms around his neck as he wrapped his arms around her.
" You're my hero...." She whispered, nudging her nose into his warm coat.
