Chapter 6

" Hello, Paul."

Diane and Paul were frightened by the abrupt voice that came from beside them. Next their table, a woman sat and drank an espresso.

" Monica? Wha- what are you doing here?" Paul asked.

Monica glared at Diane," may I ask the same?"

Paul went pale and gripped Diane's hand. Diane didn't dare to see that Monica, since she was already upset at her to begin with. She could hear Monica stand up and walk closer to the two.

" Who is this Paul? A cousin? Prostitute? One-night-stand? Hmm?" Monica said dryly while crossing her arms. Diane could see the disgusted look on Monica's face at the corner of her eye. Paul stood up and said firmly.

" Monica, I have news for you." The woman rose her eyebrows and waited for what he was gonna say. " We're over... I don't like you at all. I think you are a disgusting person with no feelings."

Monica froze, shocked at his words. Paul grabbed her hand and pulled the engagement ring off of her. He sped walked the the entrance of the bakery/café, and threw the ring across the street.

" It's done..." He said under his breath.

Diane watched as he did this, not paying attention to the fact that her ex-best friend, was staring straight at her.

" D-Diane?! You're-she's.... Alive?!" she yelled, turning heads.

Paul went back to the table with a doggy bag. He moved Monica out of the way, and began to pack him and Diane's leftovers.

" Paul, how is she alive?! She's been dead for TWO YEARS." She shrieked with her hands on her cheeks.

" I don't know? And can ya keep it down? We don't the world knowing that she's okay, alright. She's with me now, and you aren't. Deal with it."

He spat, before pulling Diane out of her seat and walking out with her. The couple fixed their scarves and coats, as they went back to the same cab that waited for them.

" I'm so sorry Diane, that she was there. She's a psychotic bitch." He shook his head at the thought of her. Diane linked arms with him and kissed his cheek.

" Paul, I'll try to forget that she was even there. Come, let's go." She told him, holding him close and tight.

" Hiya, George!" Diane chirped happily as she hugged him. It had been a while since she'd seen him, so she was surprised to see him when they arrived at the Lennon's residence.

George hugged Diane tightly and smiled warmly at her presence. " I still can't believe it's you. Ever since you've been gone, Paul and I could stop thinking about you."

Diane smiled and patted his hands in comfort. Everyone sat with each other, talking, while Paul and John played guitar. George couldn't keep his eyes off of her. Her head full of ginger hair, rosy cheeks, tinted lips, and light green eyes.

Diane caught George looking at her, and blushed harshly. She turned her head towards him quickly, making him look the other way. She shrugged and continued listening to Paul, who was playing this lovely tune.

" What's that you're playin'" she asked, wrapping her arms around his neck from behind.

" A song." He joshed.

" Is there any lyrics?" She asked. Paul smiled and bashfully shook his head.

" Oh... Alright then. If you need me, I'll be up stairs." She assured him. He nodded and continued playing.

George and Cynthia chatted away, as John still strummed his guitar, trying to find a chord. As Diane crept up the stairs, she heard the phone ringing in their room. She entered the room and slowly lifted the receiver to her ear.

" Hello?"

Nothing....

" Is there any body..." Diane words trailed off as she heard loud breathing on the other end. She furrowed her brows and hung up immediately.

As she was about to leave, the phone rang again. She picked it up and swallowed hard. " Look, I dunno who you are, but can you please stop calling this residency?" Diane said firmly.

" Listen here, you little twat. You better leave before I destroy every little thing that you love. You got that!?" Yelled a croaky, deep voice.

" Fuck off!!" She yelled before slamming the phone down.
" What the hell...?" She whispered.

She rubbed the sides of her arms and sat on the bed. She was shaken and freaked out by the dark voice on the other end. She stood up and quickly brushed her skirt down, as Paul quickly busted in.

" Is everything alright? I heard you shout." Asked the shaken Diane.

" I'm fine Paul. Just go down stairs, and I'll be there in a minute. Don't you worry." She falsely smiled.

Paul furrowed his eyebrows, but nodded as he left the room.

Diane breathed out and closed her eyes as she breathed in. She rested her head on her forearm and thought for a secound. Who was that? Why the hell would they threaten me? What did I do?
She was frightened to the core. Who would threaten to harm her best friends and family? A monster... She thought. Diane fixed herself and went out the room, to the staircase.

Paul was waiting on the steps, like a little child. She smiled sadly and rubbed his head full of dark brown hair, as his dazzling hazel eyes stared up at her. She melted in her thoughts and felt so sad and frightened.

" Are you alright, love?" He asked, rubbing her hand.

Nodded and wiped a start tear from her cheek. He stood up and kissed her cheek, where the tear was. " Don't cry, sweet. Those tears don't belong on your sweet face." She hugged him and almost broke down.

The hug lasted longer than he expected, until she pulled away. " Sorry, I just love you so much." Diane shyly mumbled.

Paul held her hand and walked her down stairs, watching her eyes melt with sadness. Tears started to build up in her eyes, but once they got to the room where everyone was at, she completely lost it.

" Noo...!" She broke down to her knees. Paul held her up and sat her up on the sofa. She hid her face and cried so much.

" Ann? Sweetheart, what's wrong?" He held her and rubbed her head. He kept hearing her begging repeatedly," Don't take them..." He frowned and pulled her away.

" Paul!! Please don't let them! Please!" She cried, latching on to Paul again.

Everyone didn't know what was going on. After she went up stairs, she just was so, sad. George sat on the other side of her, rubbing her back and biting his lip.

" Diane, tell me what's goin' on. Please..." He worriedly pleaded.

Diane wiped her eyes and stared down." There was a phone call... He...It said that they were gonna... " she paused, tears welling in her eyes."Oh Paul! They're gonna get everyone!" She sobbed.

Paul smiled sincerely and kissed her forehead. " Baby, no one is gonna hurt anyone, alright. Who ever said that, is fuckin' dead. Alright." He assured her.

Her light green eyes shimmered with tears, making Paul's heart break. He pulled her to his chest, holding her hard under his chin. Diane clutched his shirt, holding tightly to him. Cynthia went stairs to check on Julian, who sound asleep in his crib.

John bent down, and pecked Diane's head, before following Cyn. As for George, before he headed out the door, Diane chased after him and hugged him tightly.
" Don't go, George... Please... I'm worried." She shook a lot, terrified.

George made arrangements to stay on John's couch, along with Ringo, who they called over due to Diane's worry.

" Are you guys good?" Asked Cynthia, who was being taken up stairs by John.

" Yes, Cyn!" Both men replied.

Everyone was tired, all accept Diane. She was so paranoid and scared. Paul felt her shaking under the covers, and pulled her to his chest. They wrapped each other's arms with each other's, and stood in a warm embrace....
