Once Upon A Time...

There was a girl named Alice. Alice and her family had recently moved from their house in town to this mansion out in the country. Yes, very strange. There was a small town nearby, but there was a mansion sitting out in the country with lots of trees surrounding it.

Anyways, she had finished unpacking everything she owned three days later. It's not that she had a lot of stuff, she just hated packing and unpacking. On the bright side, unpacking was more fun than packing. She had finished by hanging a picture of her old cat on the wall, right above her bed. She loved that cat, and missed her very much. Her name had been Shadow, because she was so black you couldn't even see her in the dark!

Later that day, Alice called her best friend Kelly. Her parents were going out on a double date with her parents, so they got to hang out. Alice wanted to go to Kelly's house, but Kelly wanted to go to Alice's, so reluctantly, Alice agreed that Kelly could come over.

So at eight o'clock, Kelly's parents dropped off Kelly and left with Alice's parents.

"Wow... this place is huge!" Kelly exclaimed. "It's awesome that we get this place all to ourselves tonight!"

"Yeah, I guess. I'd like it better if this place didn't give me the creeps." Alice said. "I feel like I'm being watched."

Alice suddenly turned around. She could've sworn she heard her cat meow! I mean, yeah, it could've been any cat, but she knew Shadow's meow. Some described it as a zombie sounding meow. They called her the devil's cat, that's how creepy she was! But, Shadow was gone. She ran away one day and never came home. She was probably dead.

"Alice, are you okay?" Kelly asked.

"Yeah, it's just I could've sworn I heard Shadow's meow."

"Really? I thought I saw a cat scurry outside earlier. I just assumed you got a new one."

"No, no new cat. I'm still getting over Shadow."

The girls just brushed it off as a coincidence and put in a movie. The Mummy 1, 2, and 3! Those were some of their favorite movies. After watching the second one, it was 11:30.

"Hey," Kelly said. "You know how we saw/heard that cat earlier?"

"Yeah. What about it?"

"I did some research on this place. It's said to be the burial ground of cats. Black cats."

"And you really believe that?"

"I don't know. It might be true, but it could just be a myth. You never know."

The two girls suddenly heard a meow. It was Shadow's meow again.

"I think there's a cat in the basement." Alice said.

"Let's go get it out!" Said Kelly.

Alice was about to object, but Kelly had already headed towards the door leading downstairs, so she just grabbed a flashlight and followed her bestie. When she got down there, she found her friend, standing in the middle of the room, frozen.

"Kelly, what is it?"

Kelly only pointed in response. Right in front of the two girls, was a mummified cat. And... it was meowing, and moving! Alice grabbed Kelly's hand and dragged her back upstairs. She closed the door and made sure to lock it.

"What on earth just happened?!" Alice exclaimed.

"This house, it really is a cat burial ground!" Kelly said. "Not only that, it's a HAUNTED cat burial ground, filled with un-dead black cats!"

Alice rubbed her eyes. "Maybe we're just tired and freaked out. Nothing like that could ever really happen."

"Yeah, you're right."

There was a long pause before Kelly spoke up again. "Wanna play truth or dare?"

"Sure!" Alice exclaimed. "You go first. I pick dare."

Kelly looked up and stuck her tongue out as she thought. "I dare you to go to the woods."

"As long as you go to."

"Deal."

So, the two girls slipped into their mud boots and headed outside. A full moon was out that night, and it was beautiful! Especially in the middle of the woods. They were about to head back when they heard a zombie-like meow.

"It sounded like Shadow!" Alice said.

"Look, I see glowing eyes! Over there in the bushes!"

Alice crouched down. "Here kitty kitty, here Shadow."

The cat walked over to Alice and rubbed against her hand. Kelly knelt down and looked at the cats collar. It really was Shadow! They sat there for a little while, petting the black cat. Suddenly, when the full moon was shining on them, the cat's fur turned into wraps, like a mummy, and it's eyes were blood red. Before they could react, the cat hissed and bit Alice before running off.

"That was the cat down in the basement!" Kelly said. "And it bit you!"

"I'll be fine. It's not very deep. I'll clean it and wrap it when I get inside." Alice assured her friend, then she whispered, "This must be where Shadow died, then. She must have gotten trapped in the basement and died."

When they went back inside, Alice cleaned and bandaged her wound, and the girls watched The Mummy 3 and played Horse-o-poly afterwards. By that time, it was almost three in the morning, so the two went to bed.

They fell asleep as soon as their heads hit the pillow. Alice had a strange dream though, she turned into some kind of human cat creature. Hmm. Guess that happens when you're haunted by them.

Kelly had a strange dream as well, it was the same as Alice's. Alice turned into a human/cat and killed her! Kelly awoke with a start. That was creepy! Thank goodness it was only a dream! As she lay there, she heard the sound of a cat sharpening it's claws. She looked over to where Alice had been, but she wasn't there!

"Alice? Where are you?"

She looked over at the wall behind her and saw a cat-like creature.

"Alice?"

The creature spun around and hissed, baring it's white fangs. Her eyes were blood red and her blonde hair was now pitch black! Kelly screamed as loud as she could when Alice lunged towards her.

The next morning, the girls' parents arrived home to find a bunch of cops there. When they asked what was going on, they said, "A body was found here last night. Her stomach had been ripped open, and she had cat scratches all over her. A large cat, and a small cat as well. Come see for yourselves."

So the parents followed the cops upstairs and identified her as Kelly. Alice was no where to be seen.

Alice is still out there to this very day. She's got black claws, a black tail, black cat-like ears, black hair, and black eyes. In daylight she looks like a living mummy. She's normally seen holding a cat. Sometimes it's black, sometimes it looks like a mummified cat. Every full moon, at midnight, the black cat lures you out of the house and runs into the weeds. Then Alice attacks. The demon dwelling inside the cat is summoned by three simple words,
