Epilogue Short Story Part 1/3

"Sigh finally my last month at Cross Academy. Okay so maybe I am a little sad. I'm happy because I'll see Zero more considering he graduated a year before me. I'm sad because I might never see the good friends I made once I go to college." I sigh again and stretch my arms up. I jump off the balcony on the third floor of my dorm. I land on the ground safely as always.

"Well, you're up early, Alondra." I hear the familiar voice of Ichiru. I straighten myself out, and smile at him. Yes, Ichiru is still with me. He entered school the same time I was a sophomore even though he's a year older than me. So now we're both seniors and ready to end the school year.

"I'm not up early. I just didn't sleep at all this morning." I say as I yawn. Ichiru frowns at me. There he goes again always worrying about my health. He doesn't have to worry about that. He knows it, but he insists on it.

"Oh, don't look at me that way. I'm okay. Really." I say to him as I hold my hands up. He sighs and shakes his head.

"You know you should take better care of yourself." He says to me as we begin walking to class.

"You know that I only stayed up because this was the day I got to see Zero." I tell him with a blush I try to hide. He chuckles at that, and I lightly punch him in the arm.

We continue to walk and then while Ichiru was telling me something he all of a sudden stops and looks forward in shock. I look at him for a second and then I look at the direction he was looking at.

Now it's my turn to look shocked. I see my mom waving at me. I see my dad begrudgingly dragging his feet behind her. He only gets like that when he and Zero have had a little chat about something A.K.A me. I see my sister too just rolling her eyes at my dad.

They finally make it to the frozen and shocked bodies of Ichiru and me. "Wh-what are you doing here?! I just saw you guy a month ago! So help me God if you say I'm leav-." My mom puts her hand to my mouth to shut me up. I glare at her, but she glares back and I back down. Then all of a sudden she puts on a scary nice smile. I cringe in fear.

"Well, your handsome boyfriend called us over. He had something of great urgency to tell us." She says so nonchalant. I cringe at the word "boyfriend" because the time I told my dad that Zero and I are together he gave us the scolding well, yelling of a lifetime. I think we were both left permanently scarred by that. My mom accepted him only because he saved my life from the Nishio's and Kaname a long time ago.

"Zero called you over? Why would he do that?" I say as I finally calm down and assess the situation. They all shrug well except my dad. So, I'm guessing he knows something and he doesn't plan on telling me.

"Fine then. Here's the key to the dorm. Ichiru and I are headed off to class." I say to them as I hand my mom the key. My dad mumbles something about "it should have been him" or something. He always did prefer Ichiru to Zero only because he considers Zero a bad boy for having piercings and a tattoo. I have to roll my eyes at him now.

"Alondra, that look on your face tells me we're not going to class." He says suspiciously.

"Whatever gave you that idea?" I say with an innocent grin. Although Ichiru wasn't far off. I needed to go see Zero to have some sort of explanation as to why he would call my family over a month after just having had seen them. I can't help pondering what it could be. I'm a hopeless, curious child.

"You know Yagari-sensei still hates it when you pull a stunt like that. I'm surprised you're even graduating." Ichiru tells me once we make it to the class room door. I shrug and then raise my fist once Ichiru opens the door, and as expected Aido makes direct contact. He's a year older than me, but he didn't graduate because of bad grades, but I doubt that. He is a genius after all. He totally stayed behind on purpose.

"Goodnight to you too, Aido." I say to him and then step over him. He must have mumbled the same thing, but the nose bleed was kind of muffling his voice. He's lucky I was there or else the other vampires would have gone crazy smelling his blood. It has a sweet and spicy scent to it.

"See, Yagari-sensei I made it on time?" I say to him once I pass his desk. He ignores me and continues to read his book. I stick my tongue out at him and Ichiru pushes me ahead so there isn't a confrontation between sensei and student.

I sigh, and look at all the seats that used to belong to my friends. I really did miss them once they all graduated. I miss the pocky sticks Shiki would always offer me. I miss how Rima would cover me whenever I needed to sleep during class. I miss the scowling face of Ruka. I even miss the kindness of Takuma and how we would read manga while hiding them with our textbooks. I also miss Maria Kurenai who left the school a month before everyone graduated.

Ichiru puts his hand on my shoulder sensing my hurt. I give him a sad smile. Yagari-sensei clears his throat and then the bell rings. He begins to lecture us. Instead of listening to this I close my eyes and try to go into that world. The world where I can find my great grandparents.

I learned to do this during the days I got really bored. Where I just wanted to get away from everything and go somewhere peaceful. So I miraculously came across the world where what remains of my grandparents is.

"Alondra? Shouldn't you be in class?" My grandmother Sayuri tells me. I just shrug.

"Sorry I needed to get out of there. I wasn't up for a lesson anyway. I just feel sad that this is my last year at Cross Academy. Although I am happy that I'll get to see Zero more often." I say as I sit down on the rose bench. She takes a seat next to me. I look around for my grandfather Yasuhiro, but I don't see him anywhere. Grandma Sayuri must have read my thoughts and tells me where he is.

"He's with Zero. He happened to come by too, and wanted to speak to him." I raise an eyebrow. Okay, I seriously need to know what the deal is. I mean first the mysterious call to my parents, and now a talk with Grandpa Yasuhiro. That's it! I'm going to look for him and get some answers. Grandma Sayuri pulls me back down on the bench.

"Must you be so impatient, Alondra? Why don't you let things happen according to their time?" She says with a smile on her face. I puff my cheeks and cross my arms over my chest. She giggles at my gesture.

"I can't help that I'm impatient. I was never one for it. The other reason I'm impatient is because I'm curious. You know something, don't you?!" I say to her. She shakes her head.

"No, I left because I knew you'd come and ask me. So, I'm as clueless as you are." She says as I squint my eyes at her. She hands me a piece of paper. I tilt my head to the side questioning her on this paper. She motions for me to look at it. I begin to unroll the paper.

"It's the secret on how to turn a vampire into a human and a level e or d into human or vampire." She says as I look over at the writing. I see that it is some kind of ritual. She smiles at me.

"I think it's time you finally started that dream of helping vampires, humans, and level e vampires." I smile up at her.

Of course when I return to the real word I don't have the paper, but it has been lodged into my memory. Although the site I'm greeted with isn't very welcoming. I see an angry Yagari-sensei glaring down at me. I guess he noticed I dozed off. Considering the next thing that happened has rather graphic language, I'd rather not talk about it.

Zero's P.O.V.

I finally see Alondra and Ichiru heading out, and they look paler than usual, and they're wide eyed. Something bad must have happened for them to be like that.

I walk up to them and see that they haven't noticed me yet. Of course as I expected Alondra and Ichiru start laughing hysterically. Now I know that something happened with Yagari-sensei that Alondra didn't take seriously.

Alondra's P.O.V.

"What did you get yourself into this time?" I stop all laughter once I hear Zero's voice. I turn around and run up to hug him. He lifts me up just the way I like it.

I hope none of you are getting perverted thoughts considering that I never said anything perverted on purpose.

Anyway once we look around to make sure my dad isn't around we kiss each other.

"Alright, so what's the deal? Why did you call my parents, and see my grandpa Yasuhiro?" I say to him still in his arms. He just gives me a smile that tells me that I have to wait a little longer. I frown and that just causes him to shake his head and lay his head on the bend of my neck.

I knew something was missing. I haven't had blood yet. Well, apparently neither did he since he's already biting me. Once he takes his fill I take mine.

Zero's P.O.V.

"Aren't you two supposed to be discreet on that?" Ichiru asks us. We had forgotten he was there.

We both apologize to him, but then I give him the signal that it's time. He nods his head and Alondra gives us a confused look. I put her over my shoulder and Ichiru stands behind me keeping her from hitting my back.

Alondra's P.O.V.

"Hey! I'm not a carrying bag! What are you doing?! Put me down!" I say. I'd love to flail and kick around, but Ichiru is holding my hands down and Zero has a tight grip on my legs. He pinches my leg once I try to bite him. I yelp.

                                            ~0~

"Alright we're here." He says as he puts me down. I'm facing him and glaring at him. I'm about to give him a piece of my mind when he turns me around all of a sudden.

I'm left shocked at the sight of my family, Takuma, Rima, Ruka, Yuki, Shiki, Aido, Yagari-sensei, and Headmaster Cross. I look around at the beautiful Gothic scenery that my mom is looking at in distaste, but she had to get used to the fact that I'm Goth and I like this.

I look at the round tables with black table cloths, the candles on the tables, the blue and black roses, and the amazing music that I love to listen to.

So that's where my MP3 went to. Now the question is why? I mean it's not my birthday or our two year anniversary. I glance back at Zero who is smiling down at me. I see Ichiru knew something all along and I didn't even notice. Damn it they're good.

He knew the young vampire girl would love the beautiful Gothic decor. She still has a questioning gaze on him. So he takes her hand and leads her over to where her parents are.

Alondra is confused as to why her dad isn't angry looking or shooting daggers at Zero for holding her hand. She's dying to know what's going on.

Zero leads the young girl to where they are both in front of her mom and dad. She looks back at Zero and he gives her a reassuring glance. His face goes serious once he faces Abel. The man once known as Eliasar "Bloody" Sanchez.

I see Zero take in a breath and look at my dad. Whatever he's going to ask looks like he won't take "no" for an answer. My dad doesn't look fazed though, and it's stranger still considering that he isn't angry with Zero holding on to my hand like this. I leave my thoughts once he squeezes my hand. I look up at him.

"Mr. Sanchez," He starts off. "You know that I love Alondra, and I would do anything to make her happy, but I'm selfish and I want to be just as happy. You may not like me, but I respect you and I also respect Alondra and I would never do anything to hurt her. I want to be with her more than anything in this world." My heart is beating uncontrollably at these words. I hope I'm wrong thinking this. I feel heat rising up my neck. I look at my dad nodding his head. I'm kind of scared at what he might say.

"If you'll let me, and if she accepts me I want to marry her." He says the last part to her. Her eyes open up as big as saucers. Her flushed cheeks become even more flushed. If you listened closely you could hear her heart beating beyond normal rates. Her dad stands from his seat. He sighs.

"Well you have proven to me countless times how much she means to you, and you did save her. I will never be able to repay you for it. I will allow you to marry my daughter, but that is not how I plan to repay my debt. If you hurt my little girl I swear I will hunt you down and-" Is all Abel says before his daughter interrupts him.

"I do." She whispers. "I do!" She yells. Now it's Zero's turn to look at her in surprise and blush. He sees the happy tears on her face. He holds her tightly as does she.

They kiss, and he pulls out a ring from his pocket. He places the gold rimmed and black onyx gem ring on her left hand. On her ring finger. Everyone claps, but Aido and Takuma have tears of disappointment streaming down their eyes.

(2 years later)

Zero's P.O.V.

"Who ever is against this marriage speak now or forever hold your peace." The priest says. Then Alondra turns around abruptly. I'm stunned for a bit, but then I see her stare or rather glare, circling the church. Even if someone wanted to speak up I doubt they would with those lasers shooting at them. I have to hold in my laughter. Ichiru isn't having as much luck.

Alondra's P.O.V.

"Very well then. I now pronounce you husband and wife." The old man says. I look away from the audience and turn back to Zero with a smile. "You may kiss the bride." Once again the old crone says. Zero gives me a peck on the lips, but I wasn't having any of that. I jump into his arms and kiss him passionately.

Zero's P.O.V.

That was very unexpected. Although I don't stay frozen and kiss her back with the same intensity.

Alondra's P.O.V.

"Don't eat each other." Ichiru says, and just like all that time ago we glare at him. Talk about a deja vu. We walk out of the church headed out to the reception. Everyone is cheering and making a lot of noise so I whistle very loudly and all is silent.

"Okay single ladies and unmarried ladies get in the middle I'm throwing this thing!" I say as I make a show of turning my back on them. They all huddled close before I even made a ninety degree turn.

Zero's P.O.V.

Instead of throwing the flowers behind her she throws it to the side of her causing Ichiru to catch it by reflex. He is left stunned and confused.

Alondra's P.O.V.

"Well, little brother looks like you're next." Zero says to him and I start laughing. He is still speechless. Zero surprises me with a princess carry. Although I don't mind that one as much.

You know I never told you guys what my dress looks like well, let me tell you that it isn't the normal wedding dress. Although I'm sure most of you suspected that.

Well, let me tell you that it is all black. It has a corset bodice, black flats (because I refused to walk in heels. I can't anyway.), rose earrings, and of course I had to show off my blue and black rose tattoos. I adjust the black diamond encrusted tiara on my head.

"Hey let's skip the reception." Zero whispers into my ear. I blush a bit, but grin mischievously.

"Wanna start the honey moon early, huh?" I say with a giggle. He nods his head. We get into the limo and tell the driver to change his destination. The rest is up to the imagination.
