Chapter 16: Sayuri Sanchez? Is that who I really am?
"What do you want?" Abel coldly says to Zero as he is standing outside of the giant dorm Alondra shares with her family. It's almost like a small apartment especially made for her family.
"I know you may not like me, but I really need to talk to Alondra." Zero tells the glaring Abel. Zero isn't moved by his glare. If he needs to he will keep insisting until he speaks with the young vampire girl. Abel glares at him a little longer. He sees there is no effect so he grunts and moves away from the entrance.
"Follow me. You won't see my daughter alone." He adds as he walks in front of Zero. Zero didn't have this in mind, but he had no choice. They walked to Alondra's room. They knocked, but there was no answer. They tried again, but still no answer.
"She must be sleeping. Oh well leave now." Abel comments coldly. Zero isn't ready to leave. He can feel it inside of him that something is wrong.
Their connection has grown with the moments they spend together and the amount of blood they have taken from each other. It's as if they have been bonded into one mind. He knows there is something wrong since he can't feel Alondra's presence at all. He ignores Abel and bursts the door open. He was right.
Instead of seeing an angry girl at the other end they see her unconscious younger sister. Their father sees her and he enters the room quickly shaking and calling out to his younger daughter. She begins to stir. She slowly opens her eyes and then sits up abruptly.
"Alondra!" She yells. Then she looks around and sees no trace of her older sister.
"What happened? Why were you unconscious, Lucero?" Her father asks her very worried. A dark thought enters his mind.
"Did Alondra do this to you?" He says hoping she hadn't. The younger sister shakes her head quickly.
"No! It wasn't her. She wouldn't hurt me like this. Well, to be exact I wasn't hurt. You see I wanted to come and talk with Alondra because she has been acting weird ever since you told her we were leaving after the school year was over." She says not knowing that Alondra had kept that information hidden from all her peers. Zero is shocked by the news.
"She's what?!" He says in disbelief. Now he understands her strangeness, her hurt expression, and her fake enthusiasm.
"I can tell you that later! Right now we have to save Alondra!" Her sister yells.
"What do you mean? Tell me what happened from the beginning." Her father says to his young daughter trying to sound as calm as he can even though he is torn up inside at this news. The younger sister nods her head and breathes in fighting off tears.
"Like I said before, I only wanted to see if I could talk to her and help her let out her feelings. I knocked, but she didn't answer which was weird. She usually doesn't sleep so much. When you and mom were out this guy I can't think of his name came in carrying Alondra I thought something was wrong with her, but then I saw her wet uniform and she looked like she hadn't slept at all. I told him to take her to her room, and that I would get some clothes for her. He did that. I brought her her clothes. The only thing I could manage to put on her was a white dress she hates to wear." Lucero says and then takes in another breath.
"I thought the guy had left so I put the covers over her, and went to my room. I felt like I needed to talk to her so I went back to her room. When I opened the door I saw the guy again only he was carrying her again and he had opened the window that led to the balcony. I was going to ask him what he was doing, but before I could say anything I felt my body go numb. I fell down. My eyelids felt really heavy, but I managed to see him disappear with her in the shadows. Then I blacked out." She says finally letting the tears fall and clinging desperately to her father.
"How did this guy look like?" Zero asks looking at the discarded night class uniform of Alondra. His fists are clenched. His teeth are gritted. He somehow had the feeling he knew who it was, but he wanted to make sure first.
"He- he had longish brown to black colored hair, his eyes were glowing red like Alondra's do sometimes, and he was wearing. . . he was a member of the Night Class!" She yells finally remembering a few details. Those small details were enough to confirm it. It was Kaname Kuran who had taken her.
Alondra's P.O.V.
My eyes open little by little. Once they are open I look around wondering where I am. I sit up slowly wincing at the pain in my neck and my bones. This room doesn't seem familiar. Should it be? I don't know. Then a thought passes through me.
"Who am I?" I look at my hands. At least I think these are my hands. I hear a door knob turning.
I look at one door and see no movement. I turn around in front of me and see the door being opened. I see a handsome man standing at the door. He is wearing a black button up shirt with white pants that look like they belong in a uniform. Although I don't know why that thought crossed my mind.
His hair is medium length, it's a dark brown color, his eyes are a mix of brown and red. I'm looking at him wondering if I know him somehow. He doesn't seem familiar at all.
"Who are you?" I ask him as he approaches me. He takes a seat next to me on the bed. I look at him waiting for his answer. He takes my hand and kisses it. This action makes me blush slightly.
"Before I answer your questions. . . tell me are you feeling alright?" He asks me with his deep strong voice.
"Um I think so. Other than my memory being weird. . ." I say not really sure if I'm okay or not. He puts my hand down gently on the bed. Then he places his hand on mine. He smiles warmly at me. I give him a small smile back.
"Will you answer my questions now? I mean I don't seem to recall anything right now." I say to him looking down at our touching hands. I look a little shocked since I hadn't noticed that ring on my left hand on my index finger. I look up at him then. He is still smiling at me.
"I see. Well, if you don't remember I'll remind you then." He says with a pause. "I'm Kaname Kuran. You're Sayuri Sanchez." I tilt my head at that name. For some reason it didn't seem to fit me. It is a nice name, but it doesn't feel like my name.
"Also you are my fianceé." That is when I really feel this shock in me. I look at him not really knowing if I should believe him or not.
"It's alright you will remember in due time. You're confused right now so rest up. I'll come for you later." He says as he stands up. I quickly take his hand so he won't leave.
"Wait! I need to know more. If we aren't married yet then, where am I?" I ask him looking at him with pleading eyes. He smiles at me once more and sits back down. He unbuttons two buttons from his shirt.
I feel a little frightened. Then he inches his neck close to me. I feel the sudden urge to bite him. I do. I feel my teeth or rather my fangs pierce his neck.
I can taste the blood. I begin to swallow it. It is rather tasty, but it doesn't feel right going down my throat. I quench my thirst and sit back down. He then brings his lips close to me. He licks what I can imagine is some left over blood. He moves higher until he is on my lips. He kisses me as do I. But, no matter what he does none of it feels right.
"Rest up, Sayuri." I nod and step back. Letting him walk out of the bedroom. I go back to the bed and lie down.
My only assumption is that I had an incident that caused my memory loss. I hope some rest will help clear up the haze on my memories.
Zero's P.O.V.
"Ichiru!" I call out for my younger brother. He is already patrolling. He hears me and stops walking around coming my direction.
"What is it, Zero?" He asks me with a confused tone in his voice.
"Tell me have you seen either Kaname or Alondra?" I ask hoping he knew something, but the look in his eyes tells me that he doesn't.
"No, neither one of them went to class. In fact neither did Ace, Lillian, or Seiren. Why what's wrong, Zero?" Ichiru asks me. I don't know If I should tell him. I don't want him getting sick or anything. That's what happened every time someone told him bad news when we were kids. I shake my head. He grips both my shoulders.
"Zero! Don't keep stuff from me! What's going on?" He says getting closer to me. I sigh since I really don't have much of a choice. I motion for him to sit down. He does and I sit with him.
"Alondra was kidnapped by Kaname." I tell him getting right to the point. Ichiru looks so shocked that I regret having have told him.
"Ichiru, are you okay?" I ask putting my hand to his back.
"How can I be okay?! Didn't you hear what you just told me?" He says standing up.
"Why would he do that?!" He asks. I shrug, but then I see realization hit his eyes.
"That's right Ace and Lillian are enemy clan members to Alondra's clan. They must have asked Kaname for help!" He says to me. I stand right up with him. I didn't even get that through my mind. Now even more I know I have to save her.
"I'm going to find her and save her then!" I say looking up at the sun.
"Do you know where to look?" I hear a voice. I see the Headmaster, Sensei, and Alondra's dad. Her dad looks so distraught. Not like the man I had seen before. Headmaster looks just as worried. Sensei doesn't show any kind of feeling as expected. I shake my head avoiding Sensei's gaze.
"Zero, tell me, how many times have you two taken blood from each other?" Headmaster asks me. I notice the flash of anger in her dad's eyes. He comes up to me and grabs me by my shirt. He may be shorter than me, but he is still pretty strong, and I wasn't going to fight him anyway.
"You've been taking my daughter's blood?!" He yells at me. I only nod my head. He looks like he really wants to hit me, but Headmaster steps in.
"Eliasar! Really this is no time for that!" He says not looking at her dad. He is stunned by his words. So he just looks down and clenches his fists. Headmaster is still expecting my answer.
"I haven't taken her blood since yesterday." I admit to them. There really is no point in adding that I've been taking in her blood since day one. He nods his head.
"Then I'm pretty sure by now you two have bonded to each other. You're body, minds, and blood have become one. So you could track her down from where ever she is." He says looking at me with hope flickering in his eyes. Now I realize why I was able to feel what she felt, how I could read her thoughts at times, and how I knew to go to her when she needed me.
"How do I do that then?" I ask him. I'll do anything to find her and I will.
"Call to her blood. You'll know how." I hear her dad say still not looking at me. Headmaster is shocked by what her dad said too.
"I know you hate me, but I won't let anything happen to Alondra. She's important to me and I will do anything to save her." I say not afraid to tell him what I feel for her anymore. But I want her to hear me too. So I don't say too much. He only looks away, and begins to walk off. He stops suddenly.
"You had better bring her back safe and sound." Is all he says without turning around and walking away. I look at him leave. I'm pretty sure I gained his approval. Now to more important matters. To save Alondra.
