Chapter 7: My Little Secret

It wasn't long before both women realised what they were doing. They let go of each other, and Emma backed off slowly, even though her heart, mind, and body was telling her not too. Her insides were a hot mess – and she was sure that because of her actions earlier, she was wet down there. She looked at Regina awkwardly, but gave her a small smile. "Only for the people I like," Emma repeated, referring to the coffee Regina had just tasted. She then walked over to her McDonalds, now feeling rather hungry. She didn't feel sick anymore – which was a miracle. She figured that being with Regina had cured that for her. Regina looked away from Emma, and picked up her coffee once more; drinking from the side that Emma had just moments ago. "I think there is something we need to talk about," Regina said, pointing out the obvious. That was the second time Emma had kissed her – only this time she wasn't drunk, and Regina kissed her back. Emma looked up from the bag of food, back up to Regina and nodded her head. She knew it was inevitable – there was no way they could do something like that without talking about why it had happened.

"Do you want to sit somewhere more comfortable then?" Emma suggested, glancing over to the couch, which looked a little more inviting now, than it had the night before. Regina nodded before grabbing her coffee and heading over there. Emma followed her, carrying her bag of McDonalds, both sitting next to each other like they had last night. "So how long have you been crushing on me, Swan?" Regina asked with a small smirk. Emma hung her head ever so slightly, but then looked at Regina with a small smile. "Since I found out I was transferring I guess – I studied your cases, and I was admired by what you have done... The way you emphasis with the victims, it's like you understand them," Emma answered looking at her with loving eyes. "That's because I do, but carry on," Regina commented, wanting to hear more. "I fall in love even more when I first saw you... Even though you couldn't wait to get away from me," Emma teased, poking her tongue out playfully. "Oh, come on... I hadn't briefed the captain yet!" Regina retorted, trying to explain herself. "No, in all seriousness, I was kind of confused as to what I was feeling about you – you were so beautiful... I had just lost Lily, and then here you walk in, beautiful and radiant... I couldn't believe what I was seeing," Regina explained, a look of apology upon her face. Emma tilted her head to the side, a playful smile riding on her lips. "You've liked me for that long too?" She questioned, wondering why she hadn't picked up on it before – no wonder she was cold towards her, she was confused. Regina nodded her head. "Yeah, and I didn't know how to address it... I've never felt that way before... I mean, towards women," Regina admitted, taking a sip from her coffee, which was threatening to turn cold if she didn't drink it faster. Emma nodded her head in agreement. "I know exactly how you feel," Emma told her, setting aside her McDonalds – somehow she didn't think she would be able to eat it right at that moment.

"So where do we go from here?" Emma asked, looking at Regina carefully, taking in all her beautiful features. Regina let out a small sigh as she put down her now empty cup of coffee and looked at Emma carefully. "I usually have a strict no work/personal relationships... But you... You make me feel like I need to be with you. All the time," Regina responded, which made Emma smile. "Really?" Emma questioned, wanting her to carry on about just how much she needed her. Regina merely nodded her head with a smile. "Yeah – but it's against policy... so... this has to be our little secret," Regina told her, before taking Emma's hand, and kissing it lightly. "You can be my little secret," Regina reiterated, before moving forward to meet Emma's lips again. Regina moved her body so she was laying on top her, ready to explore her body, but Emma let out a small wince of pain before breaking contact with her. "I am so sorry, Emma," Regina breathed, forgetting momentarily that Emma was injured. Emma let out a small laugh, and placed her hand carefully on the side of Regina's face. "It's alright – I should be the one that is sorry," Emma responded, watching as Regina moved her body from her, but continued to sit close to her. Emma then moved her hand to grab hold of Regina's caressing her thumb over it.

"We should just talk for now... I mean... You only know me as Detective Emma Swan, a transfer from Atlanta, and a compulsive gambler," Emma commented, looking at Regina with careful eyes. Regina breathed out slightly as she heard Emma say that – it was true. That's all she knew about her. That, and the fact that she was ultimately breathe taking. So she nodded her head. "Tell me about Emma Swan," Regina responded with a grin. "You said you could relate to the victims? Does that mean you were assaulted?" Emma asked quietly, not wanting to bring up any bad memories for Regina– she just didn't know how else to tell her. When Regina nodded, Emma let out a small sigh, wishing that such a thing hadn't happened to her. "Something happened to me when I was on the job in Atlanta – that's why I had to get out of there," Emma told Regina, which resulted in her to tilt her head to the side. "Someone you work with?" Regina asked, knowing that could be the only way to actually go to a different precinct, let alone another city. "It's something not worth pursing – he was drunk..." Emma told her with a nod. "That's no excuse, Emma... That's how they win," Regina pointed out, but she put her arm around the other women, which caused Emma to lean her head on Regina's shoulder. "I know," Emma commented after a short pause. Regina held her close, absentmindedly smelling her newly washed hair. "You smell nice," Regina commented out aloud, which in turn, made Emma laugh, lifting the silence from the room. "Thank you – you don't smell too bad yourself," Emma commented, looking up at Regina and placing a small kiss upon her lips.

They were there, making out for a full ten minutes before Emma broke the guess for the third time. "Maybe we should go somewhere more comfortable... my bedroom perhaps?" Emma suggested, feeling the urge to do more than just kissing – no matter how much it would hurt her wounded stomach. Regina looked at her carefully, searching Emma's eyes carefully, before nodding her head. "If I hurt you, I'm going to go home," Regina warned. Emma merely smiled and stood up, holding out her hand for Regina to take. "You won't hurt me," Emma responded, lifting her out of the couch when she grabbed her hand. She led Regina into her room, both women silent as they did so. The McDonalds bag sat abandoned on the table, while Emma slowly turned and shut her bedroom door when both women occupied it.
