Chapter~3
A shrill of honk from a car behind them get him back to conscious of his surroundings. Khushi closed her mouth with her left hand as if she did sin by giggling like a mad. Parking the bike, he looked at her who almost jumped down from her seat.
"Hey, easy cool..." He chuckled at her widen eyes and child like expression which was much more like a child who stole icecream from the refrigerator without her mother's knowledge.
Embarrassed, she lowered her head and let her palms to draw unknown pattern on her dress. Arnav used that time to park his bike.
Stood infront of her, he noticed her nervousness and called softly "Come."
"Why are we here?" She asked in low audible voice.
He gazed her with a frown as if she grew horn on her head "To shop... for you. I thought that's what normal people do in this mall." He bemused.
She bit her lower lip in embarrassment. What else she can do. Her brain was sending warning signals about this big glass building. She has no money to buy anything from that luxurious shops.
"I've no mo..ney." She said in hesitance.
His anger raised in no time "What?"
Not giving any sort of warning, he pulled her. She crashed on his chest and held his arm for support.
"Look Khushi. Whatever happened few hours before was not a child play. We're married. A wife has all rights to use what's her husband's. Your husband has enough money to afford here. Got it!" He bilittled the topic.
Unlike earlier, Khushi noticed a firmness on his eyes. She nodded accepting her failure as she realised she lost the battle even before she put forth her argument.
"That's like my wife." He flickered her red nose, bewitched by that from the time she started to blush around him.
Khushi gulped at this new gesture. She felt new emotions seeping into her system. Leaving her arm, he held her palm in his hold and gently dragged her towards the mall.
Her doe eyes captured everything and her face clearly showed how astounded she was to explore the mall.
"Which type of dresses you prefer? Salwars, sarees, crop tops, jeans, leggings, culottes..." He bombarded her with questions about her choices.
She was flabbergasted to say, "Wait... Wait... I don't know half of the things, you're saying. I... I prefer saree."
He baffled hearing her choice "Are you sure, you wants saree? You're still young. Try everything. Come."
"No... I...."
"What... I... You. Come." He dragged her without giving ear to her protests and bought whatever Khushi eyed.
She had hard time in keeping her eyeballs still as her husband finalised whatever she lays her eyes on.
"It's enough. Already you bought more than 15dresses." She said hurriedly as he was ready to go to another section which ensemble party wears.
"Are you sure? If you want we can buy more too. And Err... Khushi... What about other clothes?"
She furrowed her brows to fathom his words "You already bought more than enough."
He cleared his throat awkwardly "Khushi other clothes.. I mean your other fabrics."
Her brows narrowed but that doesn't provide desired result unless her brain grasp the hint which she missed obviously.
His ears turned pink. He was perplexed more than he was in his first interview. He just couldn't believe, his wife was one such child, a cute one though.
"Khushi... I mean... See I wear vest under my shirt. Likewise..." He trailed down hoping against hope that his child wife should understand his words atleast now.
"Vest means?"
Thud.. He fainted mentally. His bewildered eyes scared her.
"I don't... Know English... That word was English right." She said hesitantly and excited later finding that word was indeed English.
He didn't wait more after that. He held her palms and gently dragged to lingerie section. Now it's Khushi turn to get bewilder.
"Show inner wears for her size." Khushi wished ground beneath her to open and swallow her. She instinctively detangles her palm from his. Her cheeks turned pink. She started to fiddle with her fingers in nervousness.
Arnav fathomed if she fiddle with her finger means she's nervous. Already he was embarrassed and he didn't want his wife to feel the same.
So he lowered his head to her level "I'll wait outside. Buy whatever you want. I'll pay the bill." Whispering this he walked outside in haste.
Khushi breathed in relief. Next few minutes passed in selecting colours. Her heart still was in daze. She never thought one day she'll purchase in this type of mall. She never thought she'll get this much attention from someone. She never thought someone would give extra attention to her and give preference to her likes. She felt like princess from those animation movies. Sometimes Fairy tales are also real.
"Mam this way... Credit or debit card?" Salesgirl asked making preparations for the bill.
Khushi turned nervous. She roamed her eyes around the section. Arnav was nowhere to be seen. Her frame started to perspire heavily.
"Mam... Your card?"
Her eyes ready to pour down her precious tears. She started to fidget with the hem of her dress and wandered her eyes over the area. Fortunately, her blur eyes caught the sight of her husband. A lone tear rolled down her cheeks in relief.
"My husband.. Woh..." She said partially to the girls and for herself.
He was speaking to someone on his phone showing his side posture. Khushi leaped forward with big steps ignoring the calls from salesgirl.
There was sudden rush in entrance as a family entered and Khushi was stopped in middle. She raised her hands to call him.
Only then she realised, she doesn't even know his name.
"Ji.." She called in low voice.
She bit her lips in helplessness. Eventually he finished the call and turned back to check on her. A relief washed over her frame as she saw him walking towards her.
Hopped forward she held his arms "What is your name?"
"You don't know." He asked in surprise. She pushed forward her lower lips as gesture of no. Some sinful thoughts crept on his system. Pushing aside those considering her innocence he mouthed his name "Arnav, Arnav Singh Raizada."
"Oh... Thanks ji.. woh bill.."
"Come.." He bobbed his head and proceed to pay the bill.
While swiping his card he noticed, Khushi eyes which stood still awestruck at something. Following her vision, a lopsided smile curved on his lips.
Dragging her away, he made her sit on the food court and got lunch for them.
Khushi sat uncomfortably opposite to him. Everything looks new for her. She noticed the clothes of others and looked at her own self in self pity.
"Khushi... I'll be back."
He walked hurriedly outside without giving her chance to stop him which she was ready to do so.
It's a sheer torture for Khushi. She rolled her big eyes looking at the surroundings. An inferiority complex ready to invade her senses. Thankfully, Arnav came within few minutes with a bag.
"Take this."
She took the bag from his hold and started to examine it "What is this?"
"Open it.."
She opened slowly and gasped seeing gasped seeing the content. That was the same saree, she liked it in first sight. As she already fathomed about the cost, she restricted herself to look at the side. But looks like he noticed so.
"It was costly."
"So?"
"You don't need to spend..."
"You liked it, didn't you? I bought it for my wife. Since she liked this, it's my duty to fulfill her wishes. Chapter closed." He shrugged nonchalantly dismissing the topic.
He already noticed the hesitation in khushi eyes. He realised she's not going to ask anything until they turn comfortable. So he did what he felt right at the moment. Fulfilling what his wife likes, without waiting for her to voice out her wishes. He liked to do things for her.
On the other hand Khushi accepted it's useless to argue with him when he have all the answers for her questions. Sighed she straightened herself.
"I... want to tell you something important..." Announced she with little hesitation.
