chapter 2

"Son, get my phone! I need to call that coroner right away! How dare he refuse the offer just like that? Does he know who I really am? Does he have an idea of my being Mr. Hollydevil, a giant that never looses in a battle field?" Mr. Hollydevil thundered making Guardianprince jump from a chair's armrest in fear.

Hollydevil was a real devil just as his name sounds. He was feared by those who lived around him and far. No one wanted to pass near him or any of his family members. His ill heart earned him few friends which he considered as useless. He had two sons and a daughter, Guardianprince, prince Heyller and Queen.  Queen wasn't his daughter biologically but she was the apple of his eye. Any orders given by her was to pass. Hollydevil was a British man but had been living in Kenya for years now. He was a tank of a man  with a bald head and a pot belly that protruded below his abdomen giving him an extra figure. He was six feet tall and unpleasant to look at.

Unlike any other home, his was different. "Wealth" was the word to be used in his house and "death" was the perfume that overpowered his huge compound ever. His gate was red in colour and had a human skull hanged at the entrance. The skull was painted pure white with some red paint carelessly pours at the balls to allow it drip and dry giving it a horrifying appearance. The skull had been there for more than ten years now and no one knew including his children whom it belonged to. He kept the secret to himself.

While in the compound, a huge house and a sweet scent of eye catching flowers in his garden welcomed you. The flowers were a mixture of red and black which brought him exhilaration on a single look at them. At the house's entrance was a double glassed door that was painted black at the sides leading to an affluently arranged living room with black painted walls. Around the walls were picture frames of the family members. Apart from the ones that belonged to the members, there was one that was of a strange and creepy looking woman. She had a red gown and and black gloves on. Too strange!  His red and black furniture were so glossy and a chandelier above.
The beauty of his dining room and kitchen was unexplainable. It was what could make a heart Traver a hundred miles and back. The colours was still red and black.

   "But Dad...!" Guardianprince tried to interrupt but the kind of responce he received made him run for the phone without thinking.

   "And who are you to chip in my affairs huh? You are just a son not a wife. The next time you do, I'll have to deal with you not as my son, but my kitchen cook!" He growled his eyes blinking severally.

It was 12:30Am and he was still awake. He was worried about both King and Queen. King was such a slice of bread to him. He could just mold into a ball or push in his mouth and swallow without chewing. As for Queen, he couldn't sleep without seeing her. She left very early for work but wasn't home yet. He believed she worked as a cashier in a bar which he had never known where it was located.

He walked to the window and withdrew the curtains which was unusual as he waited for his phone. He pushed one of the two windows open and the cold and harsh breeze swept across his face making him close his eyes for a second. The many black cats he owned moved up and down producing  their weird voices as usual. The night was too dark and scary.   Owls also join in to make the cats special as they also produced theirs heart sinking sounds. A dry cough suddenly flipped his mouth as he tried to cover it with the back of his hand not to allow any of the scary growls he made afterwards out. A dark red bird flew straight to the widow and stood there. It looked straight into his eyes for a second then dropped the stare. It also seemed to be a little scared of him.

    "What's up f**kin bird? Don't you have work to do or you just decided it was better to come here at this time of the night? Did you hear me announce of giving out free grains huh!?" He asked in a solemn tone.

The bird stilll remained in its previous position. It didn't move or react to his question. This aroused his anger even more. He stretched  his hand out of the window, held the bird by the neck, brought it in and pressed it hard. The bird struggled to free itself to no avail. The more it struggle, the more Hollydevil's heart smiled. A  sudden evil smirk formed at the corner of his lips once his "sweet" work was done. He then threw the bird away through the window caring less where it dropped. Once it landed out, he closed the windows again so as to allow the cats fiest on their meal peacefully.

     "Here you go", Guardianprince said stretching his hand to give him his phone.

He received the phone, glared at Guardianprince before dialing in King's number. He seemed to hate him. Why would he hate his son?

King on the other side was packing his things ready to leave after running the test on the body. He was tired and all he wanted was a rest. It was a long day indeed. Queen had taken her leave once done with her work giving King time for himself. He took his phone from the table and put it at the back of his pocket but brought it out when it began ringing. He ler it ring for some seconds as he listened to his receiving tune. The thrill by Michael Jackson was the song he set as the receiving tune.

"Hello!" Mr. Hollydevil's voice echoed through the air.

  "Hello Devil. How may I be of help to you?" King went.

   "Would you mind meeting me this night? I would like us to discuss some important deals if you don't mind", Hollydevil said.

  "I can't come today sir and plus I've had a long day. I think we can do it in the morning, how do you see that?" King tries to make him understand.

   "I won't take much of your time. Twenty minutes would be enough", Hollydevil convinces.

    "Ok", king agrees and hungs up the call.

~~~~~~~~~~
Hollydevil smiled after the call making Guardianprince look at him and shake his head. This only meant danger according to his little knowledge of his father. The frowning woman on the picture frame spread a smile on her lips after Devil was done with speaking. This only happened whenever a bad thing was to happen somewhere.
Hollydevil took car keys from the table and rushed toward the door followed by Guardianprince. His hand went for the knob but the door was pushed open by Queen. Her reaction said it all. Without greeting anyone, she walked straight to her bedroom and locked herself from inside leaving the two still standing at the door. Hollydevil found this unusual. Would he go or check on his daughter.
