What a marvelous time

Emilie P.o.V.

June 2016

It's been six days since we came to Hawaii and according to Taylor we'll stay for another four days.
We practiced swimming every day and by now I was pretty good. We've been on the beach two times and I absolutely loved it.

On the beach we had seen baby turtles and we had built tons of sandcastles. Taylor had taken pictures for me.
Yesterday we went to the aquarium where we saw tons of fish and other marine animals.

And ever since I was asking Taylor to go swimming in the ocean with me, so I could see the fish in real life, but as for now she didn't want to.

"Baby I have something for you." Taylor said, handing me a small bag.
Inside were some weird looking glasses and a small tube, with some weird looking thing.

"What's that?" I asked.
"Diving goggles and a snorkel." Taylor answered and I nodded, putting the goggles on my head.

Taylor and I were sitting outside close to the pool so I could immediately test them out. I jumped into the pool making Taylor yell. I started swimming and put my head under water where I opened my eyes. I squealed and saw air bubbles come out of my mouth, before Taylor pulled me out.

"Oh my God." She looked mad and I felt myself flinch. "You can't just jump in. Do you know how dangerous this can be?" "I'm sorry." I mumbled and looked down. "Baby. I'm not mad." I still looked down and I felt tears sting in my eyes.

"No need to cry baby." She said, rocking me back and forth."Sorry." I mumbled again and tried to hide my face but she made me look again."Baby girl. I'm not mad at all. I was really worried because you could have gotten hurt." Taylor said she was smiling at me.

"Still sorry." I mumbled into her chest. Taylor was rocking me back and forth to calm me down.

"Baby everything's alright just calm down. I get it that you were excited but just jumping into water isn't really safe, for someone with so little swimming experience. That's why I picked you up. If you want to go swimming in the pool, tell me and we'll go together this way so I can make sure you're safe." Taylor said and I nodded but still didn't look up.

"My sweet baby girl. You're alright. Do you want to go back in the pool?" I nodded a little. "Come on baby." She kissed me on my head and walked over to the shallow end where we got into the pool.

"Now you can swim baby." She told me and I did. I tested out the goggles before Taylor explained to me what the snorkel exactly did.

"So I can breathe under the water?" Taylor nodded again and I giggled.
I put one end into my mouth and dived again. I opened my eyes and took a breath. It worked. I could breathe underwater.

"I can breathe underwater like I'm a mermaid." I giggled and Taylor had picked me up to set me down on her hip. "Really?" I nodded excitedly.
"Well now you're my little mermaid."
I giggled and wrapped my arms around her.

"Why did you get me those?"
"Cause we'll go snorkeling tomorrow in the ocean." "In the ocean?" My eyes widened in excitement.

"Yeah baby." I continued to practice swimming with the snorkel, practicing to breathe with the snorkel.

"Baby. We need to get you to bed." Taylor was right, we already had dinner before she gave me the snorkel and the googles.

"Kay." I followed her upstairs and after a shower she tucked me in."I hope you have wonderful dreams baby girl." She told me and I smiled back at her.

"Good night Tay."

"Emilie. Where are you? Come here now. You misfit." I heard Miss Higgins yell for me from downstairs. I got up and tried to run downstairs but taking the stairs of the attic was so hard, as I was so little.

When I finally reached the living room two stories down Miss Higgins was already red in her face.

"What took you so long?" She hissed, grabbing my wrist. " 'm sowry." I tried but she just huffed in annoyance.
"Talk like a normal person. You're so retarded no wonder your parents didn't want you."

I felt the tears in my eyes and tried to get away from her. Slap. A prickling pain formed in my right cheek. The tears started falling and I really tried to suppress the sobs forming.

"Stop crying." I tried to stop the tears from falling down, but it didn't work.
Another slap. My left cheek started burning as well.

With a gasp for air I woke up. Tears were forming in my eyes. Never had I dreamt about Miss Higgins before and never had a dream been so accurate and scary. The tears started falling as I remembered what happened that day.
I quickly pulled Lulu closer to me and closed my eyes to cry in silence, but I couldn't calm myself down and stop crying like I could six months back.

So I unwrapped myself from the blanket and started my way to Taylors room. In front of her door I hesitated. She always said to get her if I need her and I really do right now, but I don't want her to wake up.

The tears were still falling from my face when I looked at Lulu. I took her right ear in my mouth and bite on it to calm myself down.

Carefully I opened Taylors door. The room was really dark but Taylor was clearly in the bed. I slowly crept closer to her and when I reached her I put my hand on her cheek.

"Tay. I had a scawy dweam. Please wake up." I said loud enough for her to hopefully understand me. She did. She opened her eyes and moved a little.

"Emilie. What are you doing?" She started but when she saw me crying she stopped and sat up to pull me on her lap.

"Scary dream." I mumbled and hid my head in the crock of her neck. "Oh baby I'm sorry. Do you want to tell me about it?"

I shook my head and wrapped my arms around her so there was no way that she'd be able to leave me alone.

"Do you and Lulu want to sleep here with me tonight?" I nodded and closed my eyes curling up in her arms.

"Alright baby. Let's go back to sleep." She moved and layed back down, me still on her chest and Lulu in my arm. She moved the blanket so I was wrapped up as well.

I could hear her heartbeat, which lulled me to sleep."I hope you sleep better now baby." I heard Taylor say before I closed my eyes. "Love you Tay." I mumbled back and closed my eyes.

I felt Taylor shake me awake a little before I opened my eyes. "Good morning baby." I looked into her eyes and smiled before wrapping my arms around her neck.

"Morning Tay." "Emi we need to get up." I groaned into her neck, but Taylor got up, with me clinging to her neck.
"I'm tired." "Too tired to go swimming?" She asked with a short smile and almost immediately I felt awake.

"No." I said trying to get down from her arms "Alright. How about you get dressed in a swimsuit and then put one of your dresses on top. While I get dressed as well and make breakfast?" I nodded and after Taylor put me down I ran to my room. I pulled my swimsuit out of the drawer and started to get myself dressed, before I put one of my summer dresses on top.

In the kitchen Taylor was putting down a small bowl with oatmeal and fruit
"There you go." I climbed onto the chair and started to eat. Taylor took a seat opposite to me and started to eat as well.

"So tell me are you excited?" I nodded and gave her a smile, while continuing to eat my breakfast. "Are we really going to the ocean? Like really swimming in the ocean?" She smiled and nodded. "Yeah we are going to the beach and than we can go swimming. You can use the snorkel to see all the animals."

I smiled while I quickly finished my breakfast. "Can we go now?" My voice trembled from excitement and she started laughing. "I am almost finished. If you want you can go ahead and grab your things, so I can put them in my bag once I am finished." I jumped down from the chair and ran to my room, where I grabbed my stuff and ran back into the living area. Taylor was cleaning the kitchen, while I was sitting on the couch swinging my legs back and forth.
"I am almost finished Baby Girl." She walked to her room, before she came back with a bag, wearing a flowy sundress.

"Let's go." She held her hand out for me to grab and I took it, smiling up at her, while she smiled down at me. She held the door open for me, before she locked it again. The twenty minute car ride to the beach, we listened to some of Taylors Music me trying to sing along, while Taylor looked in the rearview mirror watching me, happily bobbing my head to the music.

"Wait. Can we finish the song?" I asked, as Taylor parked the car. "Alright Baby." She turned around and started singing along with me. I started to giggle at her funny faces and gestures and her smile seemed to get even bigger.

"Ready?" She asked and I nodded excitedly, she helped me get out of the car and took my hand. Together we walked over the parking lot, the little bit of green and the almost white sand. The waves crashed onto the beach and left some part of the sand wet.

Taylor pulled out a towel and put it down before putting our bag on top of it. The beach wasn't very full and the most people here seemed to be surfers, which was really cool, as you could see them riding on the waves outside in the ocean.

I quickly pulled my dress over my head and grabbed my goggles and snorkel.
"Can we go swim now?" "Yeah. But you'll stay right next to me okay? With the waves it's a lot harder to swim." I quickly nodded and ran to the border to the ocean. The next wave crashed onto my feet making me squeal.

Taylor gently grabbed my hand and pulled me with her. I could feel the wet sand and some stones under my feet. We walked to a point where I could still stand and didn't have to swim a lot.

"Alright. Wanna try to swim with your goggles?" She asked and I grabbed the goggles from her hand, before putting them on. I tried to dive down, before opening my eyes. Underwater I saw some black and yellow fish and some big rocks. I let out a squeal and saw the air bubbles going back to the surface, where I could also see Taylor. I dived back up and looked at her.

"There are so many fishes and the sunlight is really pretty." I told her and she smiled. "Really? What do they look like?" I quickly dived back down to look at the fishes, before swimming to Taylor and putting an arm around here. She put an arm around my waist and looked at me expectantly.

"White body and dark grey lines and yellow tips." "Woah. I bet they are pretty." I nodded and held out the goggles for her, but she gently shook her head.

"Can we go in a little deeper?" She nodded and started to carry me in a little deeper. "Alright, please stay close to me, cause you can't stand here." I nodded and held on to her neck.
"Okay. Can I use the snorkel?" She handed me the snorkel she held in her other hand.

After putting both the goggles and the snorkel back on, she let her grip go a bit

"Alright, are you ready?" I nodded and started to swim with the snorkel, always close to M..Taylor. Not Mom... Taylor. I thought to myself.

In the far ocean I saw some turtles and a lot of fishes. "There are Turtles." I squealed and pointed them out to Taylor, leading to me almost going under the water, since I had only one arm to use. Taylor quickly pulled me into her arms. "You okay." I nodded still, while still pointing to the turtles.

"Look how pretty." I mumbled into her side and she smiled, holding me close to her chest, watching the ocean with me.
"I like swimming and all the fishes, dolphins and turtles are so pretty." I told Taylor and she smiled nodding.
For quite some time we played in the oceans and I snorkeled a lot, while Taylor watched me and made sure I didn't drown.

"Want to get some ice cream?" She asked after setting me down on her hip.
"Yes please." I said, nuzzling myself into her side, she started walking towards the shore.

Once back at our stuff she wrapped a towel around me, drying me off, before she took another and dried herself off.
Together we walked to the small truck selling ice cream rolls.

"What do you want?" Taylor asked and I looked at the options. "Oreo Team." She nodded and the men started to make my order, before looking at Taylor.

"One Strawberry Dream, please." He nodded and started making our orders.
"That'd be $16.00." Taylor handed him a $20 bill and took our ice cream cups. He tried giving her the money back but she shook her hand.

"Bye." I said waving, before taking a first bite of my ice cream. "It's so good." I told Taylor as she smiled down at me and nodded. We took a seat on our towel and finished our ice cream, both trying the other ones as well.

"I have another surprise for you." She suddenly said and I looked up from my ice cream rolls.

"Really what kinda surprise?" "I found a company that offers boat rides to see whales and dolphins out in the ocean."
"Really?" She nodded and I beamed up at her. "Yeah, really. I booked a trip in two days." I smiled and leaned myself against her. We watched the ocean waves crashing to the sand.

After a while we got up and went a little into the ocean to play. Taylor was splashing me with water and I splashed back until we had a full on water war. I was giggling and laughing, running from her as she picked me up and tickled me.

"Well sweet girl. Wanna go back to our house? It's getting kinda late." I nodded sadly and helped her pack our bag.
"Can we come back?" "Sure if you want we can come back on our last day here."

"Yes please." She took my hand and helped me climb into my seat and buckle myself up.

"What song do you want to listen to now?" "Uhm All too well." I answered and she smiled while putting it on. We drove back to our house listening to the music and both of us singing along, me only when I knew the lyrics, but I honestly enjoyed listening to Taylor better, cause her voice was so pretty.
"We're back. What do you want for dinner? We have pizza, things for Tortillas and Mac'n'Cheese." Taylor still asked me what I wanted to eat, everytime we made dinner, but I usually told her to cook whatever, since I didn't like choosing, but I loved Taylors Mac'n'Cheese.

"Uhm is Mac'n'Cheese okay?" "Of course it is." I saw her smile in the rearview mirror.

The car came to a stop and I climbed outside. I helped her carry our stuff inside and we walked inside to our house.

"So first a shower. Then we can make dinner and maybe watch a movie or read a game."She gently pulled me into the bathroom where we both quickly took a shower, changing into our pj's.

"Do you want to read or draw while I cook?" I shrugged, before I nodded. "I'll draw something." So while Taylor cooked dinner I drew a pretty undersea picture with turtles and fishes. "Taylor. Look." I exclaimed and showed her the picture. She looked at the picture in my hands.

"It's so pretty. You did a very good job at drawing this picture. How about I put it in our temporary fridge here?" I nodded excitedly.

She put it on the fridge using some of the magnets and I smiled happily as she stirred in the pot. "I'm almost done." "Okay. I'll set the table."

Five minutes later we were eating dinner. I was having apple juice with it and Taylor water.

After dinner we watched a Disney movie and Taylor brought me to bed, where she gently tucked me in. "If you have any nightmares, come over to my room and wake me up." "Kay. Good night Taylor." I mumbled sleepily.
"Good night Sweet Girl."

The next day went by quickly, as we went shopping for Souvenirs and some new clothes. Taylor went totally overboard, with buying me new clothes.

But right now we were standing on the dock to get on the boat for the trip to see whales.Taylor had bought the tickets and now we were waiting.
She smiled down at me and smiled back up.

"Aloha." A man came on the dock and let us and the other people on the boat.
Taylor helped me on to the boat, where found two seats. The other families took their seats around us and I noticed some of the people starring at Taylor, but nobody took pictures of us.

The boat started driving and a young woman came to the room where we were sitting. "Aloha. Who wants to learn how to play Ukulele?" She held out some Ukuleles and I looked at Taylor who smiled, nodding. So I got up and ran to the front, like a lot of other kids.

The woman held out some Ukuleles and I took a blue one. She started to show us the chords to somewhere over the rainbow, which were a lot easier than the guitar chords.

The grownups watched and listened as we were singing and playing. Taylor smiled and filmed me. "Now who wants to do a solo performance." A black haired girl in the back put her finger up and started to sing the song, pretty badly in my opinion.

"Anyone else?" A boy played but didn't really sing as he was probably scared of everyone starring at him."Okay we have time for one last performance. Who wants to?" I hestiated but then raised my arm.

"Alrighty come up here." I walked up to the front and started playing and singing somewhere over the rainbow.
After I finished the crowd applauded and I handed the instrument back to the lady, before running to Taylor who put her phone away to catch me.

"You did so good sweet girl." She picked me and I beamed up at her. "Thanks for saying that." "Also I filmed your performance so that we can show our friends and family." I nodded and kissed her cheek.

"Ladies and Gentlemen if you go to the deck, you'll can go watch the whales and dolphins."

The man said and everyone basically stormed outside, while Taylor and I waited a bit, before going outside.

"Look Mama, there's a whale." A little boy next to me screamed. I looked at Taylor and she looked down. "Thats so pretty." I said as I pointed to the whales in the oceans. "Yeah it is." She pulled me closer to her chest."Thanks for taking me to see this with you."

"I wouldn't want to see this with anyone else." She smiled and I smiled back at her. The real whale watching took an hour, before we headed back inside.
The lady from before was now teaching how to do hula dancing, but I decided to stay cuddled up in Taylors lap and talk to her instead.

She was carefully combing through my hair and watching the outside with me, while we talked about all the different animals we had seen this trip.

"I liked the turtles and the dolphins the best." I told her. "Me too. The dolphins are so smart." She added and I smiled.
"We are currently arriving at the docks so please prepare to get ready." We heard the dark voice of the man through the old speakers.

Only a few minutes later we arrived and almost all families started to leave the boat, whole Taylor and I waited till it cleared up, before we finally left the boat and went to the car.

"So sweet girl. Since it's our last evening I figured we could eat out." "Yes please."
"Well would you like to eat Mexican, like Tacos and Burritos or maybe..."
"Yes please." Taylor started laughing, but nodded.

"Alright. I'll call there to ask for table, once we're back home, than we can back our bags before going out, since our flight leaves very early tomorrow." "Okay that sounds good."

I said while looking out the window.
We stopped in front of our house and went inside.

"Do you want to pack your own bag?" I nodded and smiled up at her. "Alright I'll be there to help you in a little while." She said and I nodded smiling at her. "Kay see u."

I started packing my toys in the backpack I had on the plane, before I grabbed my suitcase and started putting clothes inside.

"Baby you need help?" I heard Taylors soft voice ask. "Dunno." She looked over my stuff and smiled.

"You packed your backpack very well, now let's see how your suitcase looks." She smiled and carefully folded my clothes before putting them inside the suitcase. "All right there we go." "Thanks for the help."

"You're welcome. Everything except the stuff we need for tonight and tomorrow is packed. So if you want we can read a little and cuddle, cause our table isn't reserved until 7pm." I nodded and grabbed our book from the nighttable. "Can we have hot chocolate?" "Of course. I'll make some." Taylor left to the kitchen, to get two mugs hot chocolate, while I took a seat on the couch.

"All right here we go." She set the mugs down and than took a seat next to me. For the next two hours we read and cuddled on the couch. Taylor was stroking my hair and I was cuddled into her side.

"Taylor. It's almost seven." I told her and she looked up at the clock. "You're right, we've gotta go."

The drive was really short and we stopped in front of the small restaurant. Taylor put the car in park, before turning around to me.

We got inside and we're shown to a small table in the back. The restaurant was small, dark tables, girlandes and candles. A very cute atmosphere.
"Here are the menus." A young waiter said and we started to look through the menu.

"Can I have a sprite please?" I asked Taylor and she nodded. "Sure. I'll try the Strawberry juice. Do you want to share an entree? We could take the mini veggie Tacos." I nodded excitedly.
"Hmm what do you want as your main." She looked at me and watched me reading through the menu.

"What's a quesa...quesadilla?" "It's two Tortillas with a filling inside, I think." I nodded.

"Can I have the cheese quesadilla?" "Of course." The waiter came back and we ordered. A Strawberry juice, a jackfruit burrito for Taylor and a sprite and a cheese quesadilla for me and the veggie Tacos for both of us as an entree.

"What did you think of Hawaii?" Taylor asked me, while taking a sip from her drink. "I really liked it. It's so beautiful and and everyone is so nice a calm and nobody takes pictures." She smiled and nodded.

"Yeah it's a lot calmer here. It's great. Look there comes our food." The mini Tacos came and we both started eating.
"And I had lots of fun swimming. I really, really like the ocean.

It's beautiful and the animals are pretty." "Yeah that's right. I liked our boat trip today, that was really fun wasn't it?" "Yes. The whales were so awesome." She smiled as our main came. The food was awesome, really cheesy.

After we finished our food Taylor paid and we left to our car. It was almost nine pm as we arrived back at our house. "Let's get you to bed baby." She said picking me out of my car seat, carrying me over to the front door.
"Nighty Taylor." I mumbled sleepily.
