"Emilie. You gotta get up we have a lot to do today." I woke up to Taylor shaking me.

"Tay? It's too early." I mumbled and pulled my blanket up again.
"No honey It's ten am. You slept in already and you really need to get up now. We have a busy day ahead of us."
"Why?" "Cause it's New Years Eve. And some people will come over to celebrate with us."

"And?""We need to prepare for them coming here.""That doesn't explain why I gotta get up now." I grumbled but sat up smiling at her.

She smiled back at me and picked me up. "I already prepared a lot but I figured you'd want to bake with me." I nodded and rubbed my eyes.

"And I prepared breakfast for you."
"You?" I asked after she set me down on my chair. A plate with toast in front of me. "I already ate." "Oh." I mumbled before taking a bite.

"Sorry. I know we ususally eat together but I was hungry cause I was awake for awhile and I didn't want to wake you till it was later." She gave me a smile.
"I'm going to pick some stiff up in the attic while you eat. If you like get dressed afterwards. But if not it's okay. Selena and Karlie are coming over in an hour though, but they won't mind you being in your pjyamas."

Okay she was clearly stressed.
"If you need my just yell and I'll be there." She said before kissing my head and leaving the room.

I looked at Lulu and giggled. "I think Tay is going crazy. She wasn't even this crazy before Christmas." I made Lulu nod.

"You think today will be fun?" I asked before eating a little more. "Yeah me too. I hope the people that visit us are nice but I mean you're there and Tay promised that nobody will ever hurt me again." I said thinking about tonight.

"I wonder how many people are coming. Maybe a hundred." I said looking at Lulu with big eyes.
I finished my breakfast and put the plate away. In my room I picked out a jeans and my Minnie Mouse Pullover to get myself dressed. I almost forget to put socks but luckily I remembered and put Minnie socks I had to go with the pullover.

"Good we remembered the socks. Taylor wouldn't have liked it if we would have forgotten them. She says its to cold for our feet otherwise." I told Lulu and together we walked back to the living room, where Taylor had put down four boxes.

"Whats that?" I asked and tried to peak inside. "Decorations we gotta put up." She gave me a warm smile before pulling me into a hug.

"Sorry I'm kinda stressed out. You look absolutely beautiful baby." I smiled and wrapped my arms around her.
"Lulu and I figured. You look like you're going crazy." I said.

"I guess I am. Good thing that Selena and Karlie are coming over than." I shrugged. "I like you even when you're crazy more than anybody else." I mumbled into her ear.

"Puuh that's good. I was worried you might leave me for Selena now." I let go of her and gave her a grin before shaking my head.

"I'll never leave you. You're my faverouite person in the whole wide world." I could see some tears in her eyes but she smiled and kissed my head.

"Wanna know a secret?" I nodded and she picked me up and twirled me around. "You're the most adorable, sweetest, smartest, kindest and prettiest girl I've ever met and you're my faverouite person too." The last part she mumbled into my ear.

"But now we gotta put up some decorations. Do you want to help me?" I nodded and she set me down.
Inside the first box were black, silver and gold garlands.

"Those I'll put up with Karlie. I don't want you climbing on a chair again." Taylor said smiling at me. The memory of me climbing on a chair on my first day in this apartment came back into my head.

The second box was filled with crepe tape in the same colors. "We can start with those. You see the stairs in the apartment." I nodded eventhough I realized that I've never been in the rooms up there. "What's up there?" I asked when we sat down on the stairs.

"More guest rooms, a music room and one that I'm currently renovating. But didn't I show you around?" I shook my head and gave her a silly grin. "I'll show you later." She promised and together we wrapped the paper around the railing.

"It looks so nice." I said and she smiled.
"We still have some small decorations and some balloons." She said and showed me the last two boxes.
The small decorations looked like mini mirror balls.

"If you want you can put some of them on the table or on counters. Just all over the apartment." I nodded and started to put the mirror balls every I liked. I put a big one and two small in the middle of the table. Luckily Taylor had just walked out cause I climbed on the table for this.

Taylor had used a small air pump to blow up the balloons and used them to decorate the apartment. "Em come here please." I jumped of the table and ran towards Taylors voice.

"Woah. No running inside. We have two cats. Be careful so you don't fall." She said after she catched me. "Sorry." She nodded showed me a pink balloon.

"Do you want to put this on the handle of your door?" She asked and I nodded excitedly. "Yes please."

"Alright." In front of my door she handed me the cord from the Ballon and I wrapped it around the handle. With Taylors help I made a knot.
"This way everyone knows not to go in there." She said and I nodded.
The bell rang.

Taylor went to open the door while I stayed back. "Where's my little cuddle buddy?" I heard voice ask and looked towards the door.

Selena and Karlie were standing there.
I walked to the door and hugged Selenas legs."I'm here."

She picked me up and hugged me, before handing me over to Karlie.
"Hey there." The blonde said and I giggled at her.

"Hey Karlie." She set me down again and I looked at Taylor who got the message and picked me up again.
"Still my favourite." I mumbled into her ear making her smile.

In the living room Taylor explained the other two what we needed to do.
"Didn't we say that we'd come over to help you? You did almost everything already." Karlie said and raised an eyebrow at her.

"Lulu and I think she went crazy this morning. But now she's fine again." I explained the two grown ups.
Taylor smiled at me.

"Yeah I was kinda stressed out but I'm fine and calm thanks to my faverouite girl giving me some cuddles." I giggled and cuddled myself closer to her.
"I'm gonna give you lots of cuddles."
"I don't have a problem with that." She answered.

"Can you please stop being so adorable." Karlie groaned making me giggle. Taylor put me down and together with Selena I placed some more decorations around the house while Taylor and Karlie put the garlands up.

"Now all thats left to do is the baking and preparing the snacks." Taylor said.
"Can we bake unicorn muffins?" I asked her while reaching up so she'd pick me up.

"Sure why not, but we also need cookies." Taylor answered picking me up. I nuzzled my head into her neck and inhaled her smell. She smelled like mix between cats, cookies and roses, probably cause she used the same shampoo I used.

"Will you help me with the muffins?" Taylor asked me and I nodded?
"Are you guys okay with making the cookies?" She asked her friends who nodded.

So while Taylor and I made muffins the two of them prepared the dough for the cookies."Taylor. What are we doing now?" I asked swinging my legs back and forth sitting on the counter.

"Waiting till we can ice them and put sprinkles. Afterwards we can just put them onto plates and everything on the table and wait." I nodded.

"How long do we have to wait?" I asked making the other two laugh.
"It's almost 2 pm now so about 6 hours." She answered.

"So long?" I asked making her nod. I was still sitting on the counter waiting for Taylor to pick me up. She had picked up the muffin tray from the oven and set them down to cool them.

The cookies were almost down as well and now all we needed to do was waiting for everything to cool down.
I stretched my arms into Taylors direction and she picked me up.

"You're cuddly today aren't you?" She asked while tickling my tummy a little bit. I giggled and wrapped my arms around Taylors neck to not fall down, but couldn't help to feel guilty that she had to spend so much time with me.
"Sorry." I mumbed looking into her sparkly blue eyes, trying to get down from her arms.

"There's no need to be sorry. I love it when you're in a cuddly mood it means I get more cuddles from my favourite girl." She said and pulled me just closer instead of letting go of me.

"Sure?" I asked and she nodded one of her hands was drawing patterns on my back. "I absolutely love getting cuddles." She said and gave me a kiss on my head.

"Kay." I mumbled and leaned closer into her. "There you go my sweet girl." She held me to her chest rocking me back and forth a little bit.

Karlie and Selena were looking over to us. I could only Selenas face completely but she looked worried and her eyes were sad. "Why don't you go pick out a book that we can read after we finished the muffins." Taylor said and set me down.

I nodded and went to my room where I looked at my bookshelf. Taylor had gotten me some more books. Some were about Fairies, some others about history and a magical treehouse and two about the rainforest.

I picked out a book called 'Yara's Tawari Tree'. In the kitchen the adults were talking but stopped as soon as they saw me.

"Hey little one." Karlie said and I waved at her while showing Taylor which book I had picked.

"You wanna read a book about the jungle?" Taylor asked and I nodded climbing onto the chair to look what they were doing.

"What did I say about climbing on things?" Taylor asked and picked me up. "Not to do it. I'm sorry." I answered looking down. "I'm not mad. I just don't want you to tumble, fall down and get hurt." She said kissing my forehead.

She set me down on the counter and showed me the icing she was working on."Which colour baby?" "Pink and Purple." I exclaimed clapping my hands.

"Alrighty. I'll ice them and you can put all the sprinkles on that you want." I nodded and went through the box of sprinkles. I put loads of unicorn and fairy sprinkles on them and a few stars but mostly unicorns, cause everyone loves unicorns.

She set me down after we finished and told me to sit down on the couch with Selena, which I did.

"You're good?" The brunette asked and I nodded. "Taylor said we'd read as soon as she's finished cleaning up." I turned my head to see Karlie hugging Taylor. When she saw me looking over she let go of her and said something.

Taylor looked over and smiled at me. I smiled back and waved.The two women walked over to the couch and Taylor sat down next to me.

"Are you sad?" I asked when I saw that her eyes looked a little red. She shook her head. "No baby. I'm fine now come here I want some cuddles." I giggled and curled up in Taylors arms just like always when we read a book.

"Just so you guys now what's going on. We take turns reading so if you want you can join us buy you can also go into the rooms your gonna stay tonight and get ready." But the two stayed with us and just moved closer so they could read with us. I started with the first page and after I finished Taylor started and so on. The book was amazing. I loved the jungle and the story was beautiful.

"It's 6pm now we should get ready." Taylor said and the two women nodded. "Come baby I'll help you get ready."She said and picked me up. In my room we looked in my closet.

"What do you want to wear?" "Can I wear the unicorn dress?" I asked showing her the dress we had bought a few days ago.

"Course you can." She answered and handed it to me. "I'm gonna get ready in my room after you got dressed and put on shoes come over and I'll do your hair. Okay?"

"Kay." I answered before hugging her.
I got dressed in the dress and the pretty black shoes I had worn for Christmas.
"Tay?" I knocked on her door.

"Come in baby." She answered and I slipped inside her room. She was sitting
in front of a mirror and was putting some powder on her eyes. "What's that?" I asked looking at all the stuff on her table.

"Makeup." She answered looking down at me."What does it do?"

"Women use it to make themselves look prettier and to feel better about themselves." She answered. "Kay. Can I use it?"

"No you're the most gorgeous girl. You don't need it." She said while putting something on her lips to make them red.

"Then why do you use it?""Cause I want to feel pretty and makeup helps me with it." She answered looking at me again.

"I don't think you need it. You're the most prettiest woman I've ever seen." I said giving her a hug. "Thank you baby that's very sweet of you." She hugged me back.

"How do you want your hair?" She asked me after she finished her makeup ."Like the first time you did but with blue ribbons." I said excitedly and she nodded pulling out some blue ribbons from a box. She set me down on her bed and brushed my hair before making the braids.

"There you go. You look absolutely beautiful baby." I beamed at her.
"Thank you for saying that." "You're very welcome honey." "Can I wait while you do you hair?" I asked and she nodded.

So while Taylor finished getting ready I was sitting on her bed. "And did you know that Aloha means both hello and goodbye?" I asked her. She turned towards me with a smile on her face. "Really?" I nodded. "Yeah. Do you think I'll ever go to Hawaii and see the dolphins, whales and turtles?"
"I'm sure we will baby." She said before picking me up.

"We have thirty minutes left before our guests come. By the way thanks for keeping me company." I smiled and wrapped my arms around her.
"Always. Told you you're my faverouite."

She smiled back at me and in the living room we meet Karlie and Selena. Both of them were wearing different dresses and looked like they had painted there face as well.

"Are you wearing makeup?" I asked and they nodded.

"Why? You're so pretty already." The two of them smiled.

"Well but look at you. Your dress is beautiful. I wish I could wear something as pretty." Karlie said making me smile.

Then the bell rang."Who ever it is is early." Taylor said and started to walk towards the door. I followed her and watched as she opened the door.
Outside were three woman. Taylor seemed to know them as she hugged them and let them come inside.

"Who are you pretty girl?" One of them asked looking at me. Taylor turned to were I was standing and I quickly made my way to her so I could hide behind her, but she picked me up.

The woman who had talked to me gave me a warm smile. "My names Danielle." I waved at her before looking at the other two women. They all looked very similar.

"I'm Este." One of the two said and I gave her a wave as well. The third woman came closer and held her hand out for me.

"I'm Alana and those two are my big sisters." I shook her hand and smiled at her. "My names Emilie." I introduced myself still in Taylors arms.

"Its very nice to meet you." She said and I smiled. Taylor carried me to the living room where the three woman greeted Karlie and Selena.

"You're feeling shy?" Taylor asked me and I nodded a bit. "Okay lets set up some rules for tonight. When your thirsty you ask one of the grown ups you know like Selena, Karlie or me to get you something. There's probably gonna be some drinks that a little girl shouldn't drink." I nodded.

"Alana too?" Taylor shrugged and looked over to the three sisters.
"We can ask her if she's okay with it." I shrugged. "Lets finish the rules first. Second if you fell uncomfortable or scared you go to find either me, Karlie, Selena, Ed or Abby. I'll introduce them to you soon. Those people are my best and closest friends and I know that if you don't find me they'll help you okay?" I nodded and she continued.
"Lastly if at any point you get overwhelmed and want to leave you'll tell me and then I'll bring you to your room and to bed." I nodded again.

"Kay." "And just to add something. Those rules are only for your safety. If you don't play be them I'm not mad. I just have them to make sure that you are safe and comfortable with everything around you." I nodded again.

"Tay?" "Yeah baby?" "Do you think Alana would like to see my room?" I asked looking at her.

"I don't know you have to ask her. You like her don't you?" I nodded. "She seems nice and fun." "Then why don't you go ask her but don't be sad if she doesn't want to play now. Remember she's here with her sisters." I nodded and ran over to the brunette who was talking to Selena.

"Do you want to see my room?" I asked her while taking a grab at her dress. She looked down at me and smiled.
"I'd love to." Selena smiled at me. "Can I come as well?" I nodded excitedly and pulled Alana with me.

Taylor was talking to the other women and gave me a smile when she saw me leaving the room.

"This is a very pretty room you have." Alana said and I smiled.

"Thank you. Tay and I painted the walls and uncle Austin helped to set up my furniture." The two women smiled.
"Look this is a picture that Tay took after we painted my room." I showed her the picture of me and Taylor after the paint war.

"Seems like you guys had lots of fun that day." I nodded. "We always have fun." I added. "Really always?" I nodded. "Sounds like you love her very much." I looked up. Course I had heard the word love before I just didn't think that it could be used other than for married people.

"We're not married." I said making the two laugh. "No you're not but you can love lots of people. Like your parents, your sisters, your friends." I nodded at the explanation.

"Kay." We heard voices outside on the hallway. "I think we should go back. But thank you so much for showing me your room Emilie." Alana said and I gave her a big smile.

Back in the living room where now lots of people. I immediately grabbed Selenas hand and motioned for her to pick me up what she luckily did.

"Where's Tay?" I mumbled intonher ear. "Dont worry I'll bring you to her." And she did. Taylor was talking to two redheads, probably brother and sister.
"There you are." She said and picked me from Selenas arms.

"Thanks for looking after her Sel." Selena smiled at her before greeting some other people.

"You see those two people. Those are Ed and Abby. I told you about them. If you can't find someone else you know well look for those two." I nodded and looked at them curiously.

"Are you brother and sister?" I asked and they looked at each other and laughed. "No they are not." Taylor answered for them.

"Oh." I mumbled my cheeks getting red.
Abby smiled and held her hand out for me to shake. "Its nice to meet you Emilie. Taylor told me alot about you."
Ed nodded in agreement.

"Really? You did?" I asked Taylor looking at her now. "Yeah. How could I not talk about my faverouite girl." I giggled and hugged her closer.

"Now let's meet some more people. There another of people here tonight but I'm gonna introduce you to two more." I nodded and watched as she carried me towards Karlie, who was talking to two woman. One of them was facing us while the other had her back to us. The one facing us had amazing eyebrows and really pretty eyes.

"Hey guys." Taylor said and the three looked at us now. Karlie smiled at me and I smiled back at her.

"Who is this pretty girl?" The woman who I couldn't see before asked me and I smiled at her. By now I was slowly getting the hang of introducing myself.
"My names Emilie Marjorie Swift." I said and smiled at her and the other woman.

The two smiled but gave Taylor a look.
"Its very nice to meet you my names Gigi." "I'm Cara." The two introduced themselves. I smiled again.

For the next twenty minutes I stayed on Taylors arm while she talked to people but I was slowly warming up to them.
And then I had a great idea so I asked Taylor to set me down, rand to my room and picked up Lulu. When I was back in the living room I saw Selena talking to a man, Karlie was still talking with Gigi and Cara but now another woman was with them. Taylor was probably in the kitchen so I decided to go to Karlie, cause she was with two people I knew.

"Hey." I said and waved at the women when I arrived. "Hello Emilie." Gigi said giving me a smile. The woman next to her looked so much like Gigi but she had brown hair.

"This is my younger sister Bella." I waved at her and she waved back.
"Do you want to look for Taylor?" Karlie asked me but I shook my head.

"Is it okay if I stay with you for a bit?" The women nodded and I smiled at them. "Do you want some juice baby?" Karlie asked me and I nodded.

"Alright stay here please. I'll get you some. Gigi please keep an eye on her." Karlie was already on her way. "Why only Gigi?" Cara asked looking at Bella.
"Cause I'm the oldest." Gigi answered and grinned at the other two.

Bella had crouched down to my level.
"Who is this pretty bunny?" She asked me and pointed to Lulu.

"Lulu. I asked her to come with me so I won't be scared of all the people." She smiled at me and then looked back at Lulu.

"Its very nice to meet you Lulu." I giggled and smiled at her. Karlie came back and handed me a glass of apple juice. "Thank you very much." I said before taking the first sip.

"You're welcome. Now I see you brought Lulu to the party. Was she bored alone in your room?" I shook my head.

"Shes here to protect me from bad and scary people." Karlie gave me a sad smile. "The people here all very nice. I promise." She said.

"That's what Ms. Morgan said before she sent me to Ms. Higgins." I said and pulled Lulu closer to my chest.

"Who's Ms. Higgins?" Cara asked and Karlie sighed before picking me up.
"A very mean and bad old lady." I said leaning my head against Karlie, who nodded. The other three didn't ask more questions but I could see that they wanted to, so I added a little more.
"I had to live in her Orphanage for Girls before Taylor adopted me."

The three seemed sad but I just nuzzeled my head into Karlies neck as she bounced me up and down a little.
"Am I an asshole if I ask what she did?" "Cara don't use swear words in front of a child. Emilie that was a bad word don't ever say that." Gigi scolded Cara, making me giggle.

"I know much worse words. Ms. Higgins used to yell them through the house when she was mad." I said still giggling.
"Still." She said giving Cara a mad look. "I'm sorry it won't happen again." She apologized, making me laugh again. The four women seemed glad that I was happy.

"But to answer your question. I don't want to talk about it but I think you can ask Taylor about it or maybe Karlie if she knows." I said leaning my head against the tall blonde again.

"I know a bit about what happened, but not much and you're okay with me telling it while you're here or do you want me to bring you to Selena or Taylor?" I shook my head.

"I like being on your arm. You're so tall. Even taller than Taylor just like a skyscraper." I said smiling at her.
"I'm a skyscraper?" She asked and tickled my side.

"A very beautiful and nice skyscraper." I said between my laughing fits.
"Good save baby. I told you one day you're gonna outsmart Taylor." She smiled at me and I smiled back.

"Alright back to the topic. From what I know Taylor and this little nugget met on Brooklyn Bridge while it was really cold and windy outside. Taylor couldn't reach anyone at the Orpahnage so she brought her here and the two had fun together. When she brought her home the next day she found out she sleeps in the attic on a makeshift mattress. The next day she filed for adoption." I nodded that was a pretty accurate description of what happened the last few weeks.

"Ms. Higgins sounds like a very mean person." Bella said while looking at me and I nodded. "Yeah and when Ms. Morgan brought me to her she promised she'd be nice."

"Is Ms. Morgan your mom?" I shook my head. "No. Ms. Morgan owned another Orpahnage I was before." The women nodded with a small smile. I took another sip of my apple juice.

"What time is it?" I asked her and she smiled."Around 9pm." I sighed.
"Then I gotta go to bed soon." She shook her head giving me a smile.

"Not today. Today you'll be awake till midnight so you can greet the new year." "Really?" The four women nodded and I smiled at them.
"And Taylor knows about this?" "Yeah baby." "She never lets me be up after nine. She says that otherwise I'm gonna be grumpy tomorrow."

"Yeah but tonight is an exception. Wanna go see if we can find her so you can ask her?" Bella asked me and I hestitated.

"Dont worry I'll stay with you." The brunette said smiling. I looked at Karlie who was watching me closely.

"Can you give me a pinkie promise that you won't hurt me?" The brunette nodded and linked her pinky with mine. I smiled and stretched my arms in her direction she picked me from Karlies arms and started to walk through the room.

Taylor wasn't in the living room or kitchen so Bella started carrying me upstairs where I saw another giant room.

"I didn't know this was here." I said making the woman smile. "I don't think she uses for something else." Inside were like twenty people and one of them was Taylor.

"Look there she is." I said pointing the direction out to Bella.We walked to Taylor who was facing the other way and didn't see us. So I wrapped my arms around her neck from behind.

She turned around before pulling me into her arms. "Hey baby." Her smile was really bright, I smiled back at her and wrapped my arms around her neck again.

"Thanks for carrying me upstairs Bella." The woman smiled at me. "It was my pleasure." Taylor smiled at her. "It's good to see you again Bella." "You too Tay."

I pulled Lulu closer to my chest and leaned my head against Taylors.
"Tay?" "Yeah baby?" "Do I have to go to bed now? Its after nine and you always send me to bed at nine."

She shook her head and smiled. "No today is an exception."I smiled and giggled at that.

"Do you want to stay here or go back downstairs with Bella again?" I hestitaed before I pointed at Bella.
"Sorry Tay. But my room is downstairs and I hate stairs." She laughed at me and kissed my forehead.

"What ever you feel comfortable with." She handed me back to the brunette and I waved while we walked downstairs, back to the three women that were waiting for us.

"I thought you'd stay with Taylor. Since she's your faverouite." Karlie said and I giggled at that.

"She is, but my room is down here and I hate stairs cause I always tumble." She smiled at me.

Bella set me down and I gave her another smile."I'm going to get myself a unicorn muffin." I said while waving at the grown ups.

On the table were loads of snacks and food but I tried to reach the muffins, that someone had put so far in the middle of the table that I couldn't reach it.

"You need help?" Someone asked and I flinched before turning around. A woman with dark brown hair was standing in front of me.

"My names Camila. Do you want the muffin?" I nodded and watched as she handed one to me.

"Thank you." She smiled at me.
"You're very welcome. Do you need help finding your mom and dad?" I shook my head.

"No I'm fine thank you." "Alright." I shuffled with my feet as this situation got increasingly awkward. I started to eat the muffin and smiled.

"You like the muffin?" I nodded. "Yeah but I think I should put even more sprinkles next time." The woman smiled.

"You made them?" I nodded "With Taylor." Her smile seemed to get even bigger. "You did a very good job. I had one earlier and I thought they were really great, cause I love unicorns." I giggled.

"Me too. Look my dress is also a unicorn dress." "Yeah I see. It's really beautiful." I smiled at her.

"I'm Emilie. Its nice to meet you." The woman shook my hand. "Its very nice to meet you too."

"You know I got a baking set unicorn themed for Christmas and I have fairy stickers that glow in the dark on my wall." "Really?" The woman asked and I nodded excitedly.

"Thats so cool. You gotta show me those sometime." I nodded and took her hand. I started pulling her towards my room, but she stopped me.

"I don't think we should go in there."
"Its my room." I just said while opening the door and going inside. She followed me and smiled.

"Thats a really pretty room you have here." "Thank you and look when I turn of the light." I turned the light off. "The fairies glow." I turned the light back on.
"Thats really cool." She said smiling.
"Hmmm. Taylor got them for me." I was smiling at the brunette and she smiled back.

"Sweet picture that you have here." She pointed at the picture of me and Taylor after our paint war.

"Wait I have another one." I said and showed her the one from the ice rink.
"This was the day after Christmas with Andrea, Scott and Uncle Austin." She smiled at me."Did you decorate this frame?" I nodded.

"Its very beautiful. I like sparkly things."
"Me too." I said. "We should probably go back to the party and you should finish your muffin." I nodded and back in the living room I waved at her before sitting down next to Selena.

"Hey baby. Are you having fun?" She asked and I nodded. "Yeah I made a lot of nice people. Like Gigi, Cara, Ed, Abby and Bella and now Camila."

She smiled at me and I smiled back.
"Selly?" "Yeah?" "What time is it?" "Around ten why?" "Cause I'm getting tired." I answered leaning myself against her. "Wake me before midnight." I mumbled before I closed my eyes.

Taylor P.o.V

I walked back downstairs around 11pm. Upstairs was more the dancing area than downstairs so I had been dancing the whole evening. But I hadn't seen Emilie for two hours so I decided to check up on her.

"Hey Sel have you seen... oh." There was my little girl asleep on my best friends lap.

"Hey. Yeah she was tired and fell asleep. I didn't want to wake her." "Thank you but I hope you still had fun." She nodded. "Yeah I talked to a lot of people and I had a great advantage, cause everyone brought me food, as I couldn't get up." I laughed at her before sitting down and moving Emilie to my lap.
"Thanks for staying with her." Selena just waved it off.

"Shes an amazing kid Tay. It's nothing." We talked for a while till I saw Camila walking towards us, she waved at me and I waved back.

"Hey." She looked at my little toddler.
"I was wondering where my little unicorn buddy had gone to." She said making me look at her.

"I met her at the food and she showed me her room, cause I wanted to see the glow in the dark fairies." I smiled at her." Is she yours?" I nodded while stroking Emilies hair.

"I adopted her a few days before Christmas. She's my sweet little girl."
I heard a groan from the toddler on my lap.

"Tay?" She mumbled. "Hey sleepyhead. You're awake again?" The toddler nodded sitting up. "How long did I sleep?" "One and a half hours." Selena answered.

"This means midnight is soon right?" I nodded and she smiled. "Good I don't want to miss midnight." "Do you want to go to the roof already?" I asked her and the few people around me who nodded.

"I need my jacket." Emilie mumbled and I nodded. "We'll see each other on the roof." In Emilies room I got her Winter jacket and got her dressed in it, so that when we got on the roof she wasn't freezing.

By now she was fully awake.
"Whats happening?" She asked me and I smiled at her."We're gonna welcome the new year." It was only ten minutes till midnight left and everyone was in a good mood.

Emilie stayed on my arm, not per request but because I wanted to make sure she was with me at midnight.
"Guys one minute." Someone yelled.
Emilie clapped with her hands.
We saw some small fireworks in the north probably from the Times Square where they would drop the ball soon.

"Thirty seconds."

I pulled Emilie closer to me as I made sure she had a good view over the city.
"Ten...nine...eight...seven...six...five...four...three...two...one...Happy New Year."
I pulled Emilie inmy arms even closer.
"Happy New Year sweet girl."

"Happy New Year Taylor. I love you." I felt myself tearing up. Emilie hadn't made any indication that she thought of me as her mom or even closer than just friend.

"And I love you so so so much." I whispered back. I heard her sweet giggle and smiled.

"Look at all those people and lights." She said while pointing over the city.
"It's beautiful isn't it?" She nodded and leaned her head against my shoulder.
Together we stood on the roof. Around us friends and others who where celebrating but the two of us just watched the lights and fireworks.
