You Failed

Thanks for the comments, votes, and follows! 😆

So you failed, huh?" I asked, taking one look at Tohru's depressed face as we met up to walk home.

Immediately lightning appeared around her and she made a grabbing motion while shrinking back before going into a corner with depression lines written on her.

"I am so sorry, I let you down Hinata!" Tohru cried. I raised an eyebrow at Yuki who shrugged helplessly.

"How many did you fail?" Tohru lifted one finger.

"That's not as bad as last time." I offered.

"I tried so hard, Yuki and you helped me so much and yet..." She sniffled.

"It's no big deal Tohru, there's not much else I could do anyway." I shrugged, "besides Yuki likes helping people."

Yuki hesitantly nodded, scanning for any of the Yuki fan club girls in case they used this against him.

Tohru shuffles her feet forward with tears in her eyes.

"Lots of people fail Tohru. Momiji even failed a subject."

Momiji sneezed and looked around curiously.

"I guess someone was talking about me." He shrugged before skipping along with his cherry lollipop.

Tohru kept quiet all the way as we left behind Yuki and caught up with Kyo.

"So you have to make up the test?" Kyo asked, I sighed. This was going to be a long day.

"Tohru's sick?" Momiji asked through the phone.

"Yeah, she probably was stressing she failed." I said with a sigh.

"Tohru failed?"

"Yeah, just like you did." I scowled.

"Ahahahahahahahahahaha..." He chuckled nervously.

"Mo-"

"-hahahahaha."

"-Momi-"

"-HAhahahahahahaha."

"I will hurt you Bunny Boy." I growled efficiently shutting him up.

"Anyway, I'm sure Megumi and I can work out a tutoring schedule for you. Maybe if you actually try this time, you'll pass."

"It was the 3rd exam!" He whined,"I was tiiired."

"The proper response to this is supposed to be,'sorry, I'll try my best, thank you Hinata and Megumi'" I said as I held in laughter as he made tiny noises of disapproval.

"Haaaaah," he sighed in defeat,"I'll try my best, thank you Hinata and Megumi."

I laughed and spotted Kyo trying to sneak in the kitchen. Curiously, I hung up on Momiji and followed him.

"What do you make for sick people?" He muttered, scratching his head.

"Leeks most likely." I said pointing at the bowl of leeks Yuki had brought.

"GAH!" He yelped, cat ears shooting out of no where.

"Nice ears." I said, eyeing the cat ears.

"W-W-W-what are you doing in here?"

"I saw you walk into the kitchen. I got curious." I shrugged.

"Does leeks really help?" He asked quietly.

"Yep leek soup is a good source for regaining health, learned from experience." I said gathering necessary ingredients and setting them out for him.

"Make sure you don't accidentally poison her, or cook like Shigure or Yuki..." I muttered.

"Wait!!! I-I've never done this before!" He panicked.

I grinned,"Now would be a good time to start if you ever want to act on your emotions."

"What?!?" He asked confused and frustrated.

"You're saying you aren't up for the challenge? Maybe you should go ask Yuki maybe he'll do it." I said thoughtfully.

"Hell no!" Kyo yelled before throwing on an apron in manliest way possible.

I shook my head and muffled a chuckle.

"I'm heading out!" I called.

"Did you take your vitamins?" Tohru asked weakly from upstairs.

"Yeah."

"Ok, come home early." Tohru kinda sounded like a mom.

"The kanji for Rain is...?"

"Um...Ame so," he wrote 雨 and glanced at me.

I nodded my head and let him have his lollipop.

"Yaaaay!!!" He cheered childishly.

I rolled my eyes but couldn't resist smiling along with him.

"I'm dooooone~!" He announced loud enough so innocent bystanders gave us weird looks.

I sent a dirty look until they looked away. I looked back to Momiji who was looking at me expectantly.

"What?" I asked and he gave me a pout.

"Aww weren't you listening Hina-chan? I said lets go see Meggy-kun~!" Momiji poked my cheek and I flicked his forehead in retaliation.

"Owie! Hina that huuuurt!!!" He whined, rolling around on the ground, again getting weird looks.

"I didn't flick you that hard you big baby." I rolled my eyes as he sat up and gave me puppy eyes. (Or was it bunny eyes?)

"Kiss it better." He demanded.

I gave him a look and he began to whine.

"What? I've kissed you before!" I blushed winced, noticing how parents were now covering their children's eyes and ears.

"Idiot! Don't say stuff that! You'll give people the wrong idea!" I scolded covering my pink cheeks. "And it wasn't a kiss! You just pecked me on the cheek!"

"I kissed you on the cheek." He said smugly.

I scowled and punched his head. There. That'll be something for him to cry about.

"Ow, ow, ow!!!" He whined, rolling once more.

I gave him a tiny shove and he went rolling down the park hill.

"See you at Megumi's." I called before hurrying away.

"Ehhhhh?!?" He cried, "Heart Girl come back! I'm sorry! Wait for me."

I closed my eyes briefly, a content smile weaving onto my face. Moments like this were my guilty pleasure. I enjoyed them, probably more than average person but I wasn't particularly average, was I?

"Hello Hana." I greeted the blacked haired girl as Momiji and I descended to Megumi's room.

"Hello Hinata-chan. How are you?" She said with a small smile on her face.

"I'm fine but Tohru is sick."

"Oh dear. I shall send fresh, healthy waves her way and perhaps some leeks..." She said in her gentle voice.

"Thank you." I called as I knocked on Megumi's door.

"Come in." His monotone voice called.

"Hi Megu- oh, um hi Hayashi-san." I stammered in surprise at seeing the brunette sitting with Megumi at his small study table going over notes.

"Hi Meggy-kun!" Momiji said cheerfully ignoring Hayashi.

"Hello Hinata-chan, Momiji-kun." He said with a small smile. "Hayashi-san had asked me for help in tutoring him in kanji. It appears he is too used to English." Megumi said in his cool voice.

"Can you add Momiji to your list? He failed kanji."

"Only because I was bored and tired." He wrinkled his nose.

"I see, Momiji-kun please write these words 10 times each." Megumi said with a glint in his violet, slightly covered by his dark green hair.

"WHAT?!?" He cried, "but I already went through hell with Hinata!" He wailed.

"I'll make it so even if you are tired you will get a perfect score." Megumi said calmly turning back to the notes.

"H-Hina-chan save me!" Momiji pleaded desperately.

"Oh are those your scores Megumi?" I asked sitting beside him.

He nodded and allowed me a peek.

"Look we got the same score!" I cheered.

We had both gotten 48/50. In other words we had gotten a 96.

Momiji had gotten 13/50. A 26.

"Hayashi-san got a 30." Megumi said bluntly.

I chuckled nervously,"um Megumi? Perhaps he didn't want me to know that."

"Nah it's fine. My sister is way better at grades than me." Hayashi waved off.

I wonder who his sister was? Maybe it was the new girl I heard some others talking about.

"You are an idiot Hayashi-san." Megumi said as he looked over his answers.

"That was blunt." He feigned hurt.

I peeked at the paper, needless to say it was decorated with red exes.

"Wow, I only thought Momiji did this bad..." I murmured despite myself.

By now he was clutching his heart as if he was about to have a heart attack. "Not you too!"

"Ah, I'm ver sorry Hayashi-san. It just came out." I felt my cheeks pink in embarrassment as I scratched my head, my mid-length hair brushed against my skin.

"It's okay." Hayashi grinned. "My sister is really blunt." He said fondly.

"You sound like you have sister complex." Momiji suddenly said.

"Ah, really?" He asked sheepishly.

I was about to question him about his 'sister complex' when my phone rang.

I blinked and picked it up.

"HINATA!"

"Yes, what can I do for you?" I asked calmly.

"How the hell do you eat this crap?!?"

"Language Kyo."

"It smells horrible! How can anyone eat this?"

"Sick people often have stuffy noses, this often dulls the taste buds, letting them to be think it has an average taste." I said, flipping he page of the study schedule Megumi and silently handed me.

"Why do you know that?" He asked blankly.

"Experience and studying."

"...aren't you, like 12?"

"I'm 15." Feeling mildly annoyed.

"Ah whatever. I finished the shit soup. What else?"

"Orange juice would help her gain back calcium and potassium. If her fever is still high, replace the wet wash cloth and give her a couple of fever reduction pills. It'll knock her out and hopefully she will wake up healthy. I will call her boss and inform her she will be out today." I said as simply as I could.

"I didn't understand half the words you just said but fine. Sheesh calm down kid, you still got 2 1/2 years until graduation. Live a little."

"I am breathing, my heart is beating, pretty sure I'm living." I said as I clicked phone close after he scoffed and hastily said goodbye.

I smiled when I noticed Momiji and Hayashi were (finally) getting along.

I had forgotten to tell Kyo that Hana was coming with leeks and probably bring Uo.

Oh dear, this couldn't be turning into another travesty, could it?

Oh well. It's Kyo anyway. No one cares about that Garfield.
