Weird Days

"We're leaving now Tohru!" I called from the door.

Tohru poked her head out the door. "Did you take the pills Hatori sent?"

"Yes. You already reminded me 3 times."

"Are you sure you don't want to wait for us?"

"Tohru. I'm not going to have a heart failure in the middle of the street."

"I know that but-"

"Bye!" I hurried out before she could give me another lecture on my carelessness. "Miyuki lets go!" The terroir leapt up and followed after me.

I walked through the forest and couldn't help but smile at the quiet and peaceful setting. These days there aren't a lot of moments like this. But it's not like I would change it for the world.

Miyuki suddenly tensed up. I looked at her in confusion. "What's wrong girl?" I pet her head softly. She looked at me for a moment before swiveling to look at a bush.

It shook before a cat leapt out. "Ah, Miyuki come back!" I cried after her as she chased the cat.

I sighed heavily. She would find me again. Probably.

I continued down the dirt trail. The leaves on the tree shook lightly and the wind whipped around lightly as morning dew stuck to the grass.

All was peaceful and serene.

Until my head was slammed into a tree.

I fell to my knees in confusion and clutched my head where I was slightly bleeding.

"Hm, painfully boring if you ask me." A voice said, I looked up in shock. A boy with black, purplish hair and grey eyes in a turtle neck stood over me. His eyes were cold and hard as stone.

I stumbled up, "w-who are you?" I asked in an attempt to distract him. 'Miyuki, right now would be a good time to show up' I thought urgently

"I'm surprised you haven't heard of me. I am Akito Sohma." He sneered. I froze in shock, he was a Sohma? But all the Sohma's I've met have been kind. A little annoying, yes but I haven't seen any of them slam someone against a tree in greeting...

"What can I do for you." I asked in more of a statement or a 'please go away' voice.

"I'm here to warn you little girl." He grabbed my short brown hair in his fist. I hissed in pain and grabbed at his hand.

"Stay away from Momiji. Do you hear me? You've been to close to the Sohma's for my liking." He growled.

"What...right do you...have to tell who and who can't be friends?" I gasped out.

"Insolent girl, I am God!! You will listen to me or else."

"Or else what?" I glared.

"Or else, as soon as Momiji realizes his feelings, I will take away his family for good. I will lock him away from everyone. I will make sure he never sees the light of day. And I will abuse you in front of him. I will make him watch as you cry out and scream." He spat and threw me to the ground.

"Realize his feelings?!? We are just friends you sicko!" I cried out in anger.

"Stupid. Ignorant. Girl." He emphasized each word with a kick.

I winced in pain and clutched my sides.

"You better learn your place, girl" He was about to give me another kick when Miyuki leapt out of the bushes and snarled, biting his leg until blood dripped.

"Damn dog." He snarled and kicked Miyuki back.

I glared at him and pulled Miyuki into my arms.

"Tsk, just remember. I warned you." He said before walking away. "And I wouldn't recommend telling others about this...meet."

I coughed into my hands and stood up, brushing dirt off my clothes and fixing my hair back to normal.

"C'mon Miyuki. Momiji is waiting for us." I called, standing up with shaky legs and plastering a fake smile.

"So your cousin is visiting?" I asked Momiji as I sat in my desk.

"Yep! Haru has a bad sense of direction though so I don't know when he'll be here" he laughed nervously.

I sent him a curious look as the teacher walked in. I shifted slightly, causing pain to go through my abdomen. I bit back a wince and instead focused on the assignment.

I internally groaned when I realized it was an assignment to translate Japanese words into English words.

懐疑的な
Kaigi-tekina
_________

I bit my lip and thought back to the class work.

Wasn't it incredulous?

恐ろしい
Osoroshī
_______

That one was horrible. My mind supplied.

I soon finished the assignment with ease with little to no trouble.

The bell rang and I gather my bag to meet Megumi and Momiji outside.

For some reason Megumi took a liking to Momiji immediately. It wasn't a bad thing, it was just surprising that someone as mature as Megumi liked someone as childish and joyful as Momiji.

"But I thought it was Osoroshīdesu!" I heard Momiji cry out in frustration.

"Huh? Horrid? What are you-Ooooh, number 2?" I asked when I sat down in the shade.

"Waaaaah I got it wrong!" Momiji cried and clung to my arm.

Ouch. "I'm sure you didn't do that bad." I assured, patting his mussed up blonde hair. (Which was soft as a bunnies fur. Coincidence? I think not.)

"How did you miss the desu at the end? It was a complete giveaway." Megumi chided as if he was a child.

"I-I thought long words in Japanese were for long English words, plus it sounded smarter." Momiji blushed and chuckled nervously.

Megumi narrowed his eyes and began lecturing Momiji, a chuckle died in my throat when I noticed a figure watching us. It wasn't Akito, thankfully, it was a elderly woman who looked sad watching us interact.

It's probably just a grandma who misses her children. I thought and smiled sadly at the startled woman.

She blinked and hurried away, her brown hair streaked with gray flying in the wind. It looked somewhat familiar.

I shook my head and turned back to the lecturing Megumi and sheepish Momiji.

When I returned home the last thing I expected was Yuki sick in bed and a boy about my age looking after him with a blank expression.

Did I mention he had white hair? No? Well there you have it.

By the way what was the noise the cow went?

I'm pretty sure it was Moooooooo! But in his case it was Yuki I love yoooooooooou!
