I couldn't address the omegaverse au in one go on the author's note. There is much explaining I need to do to help you understand if you dont know this alternate universe. But if you do know it, then you may skip this all together.

But for those that need to know the basics, sit tight and relax since this is gonna be a confusing ride. ^^´

⚠︎ Main Terminology ⚠︎

-ˏˋ 𓂀┆PRIMARY & SECONDARY GENDERS : In the omegaverse au, everyone has a secondary gender that corresponds with their primary gender. Primary gender meaning male, female, non binary, etc. While their secondary gender is either alpha, beta, and omega.

-ˏˋ 𓂀┆OMEGAS : Both male and female omegas are smaller than your average human and have the lowest status in society. Anatomy wise, they have feminine figures and small reproductive systems. They go through heats and they have a noticable sweet scent. Their personalities are usually submissive and soft.

-ˏˋ 𓂀┆ALPHAS : The complete opposite of omegas. They have the highest rank in society and taller and buffer than regular humans/betas. Both male and female alphas have masculine anatomy and big reproductive systems. They have musty scents and sharp retractable fangs and go through ruts. Their personality traits are typically being aggresive, dominant, protective, and confident.

-ˏˋ 𓂀┆BETAS : They are regular people like you and me. They have no special scents, no fangs, no abnormaties. They can have any personality trait and dont have to be tied down with heats or ruts. They also dont react to heats or ruts.

-ˏˋ 𓂀┆HEATS & RUTS : Speaking of heats and ruts, they're reproductive cycles that encourage omegas and alphas to find mates. Their scent gets stronger to attract mates and their body heat increases since their body is working overtime. This is the most controversial part of this au and I'll rarely even touch this topic in this story. So I dont and will not explain them any further. If you're young, I highly suggest not to look it up or you'll be scarred for life.

⚠︎ More Important Terminology ⚠︎

-ˏˋ 𓂀┆SCENT GLANDS : Glands along the cheek, wrist, neck, and etc. Their small sacs underneath the skin that release an omega or alpha's scent in an oily secreation. For an alpha to scent claim her mate, she rubs her glands over her mate and they will smell like her along with their own scent. This helps ward off other alphas from trying to take her omegan mate. An omega can also claim an alpha, but it happens less conpared to when alphas do it.

-ˏˋ 𓂀┆BONDING / MATED : Being bonded or mated is exactly like marriage but it may be stronger or weaker than that depending on the author's version of the au. It's where an alpha claims their omega further than scent marking by biting down on a scent gland with their sharp fangs (usually on the neck). The scent gland is punctured and then it heals to be a bonded mark (a uniquely shaped scar). Other author's interpretation of bonding could be that both the omega and alpha have to claim eachother to be bonded.

↳ Some author's think that bonding and bond marks are permanent and cant be undone unless one of them dies. Another author can think that bonding is not permanent and that the bond would wear off if they're away from their mate for a long period of time. While another author thinks that an alpha can forcefully claim an omega, an omega can be claimed by multiple alphas, or an alpha can claim another alpha, just etc and etc.

↳ But the most trippy and important thing about bonding is that in most author's pov is that bonded mates can sense eachother's emotions and in some cases they can sense their prescence from a certain distance like a super power. But again, depending on the author's inerpretation, bonding can be better, worse, or equal to marriage.

↳ I almost forgot to say something about betas since they typically dont matter in a story, thank goodness I reminded myself. But they usually cant claim or be claimed since they have normal teeth, no scent glands or dull scent, and no smaller or larger reproductive systems.

Like I've stated beforehand, the omegaverse au is a popular yet very controversial au amongst the fanfiction community.

Why I say that is because of the au's focus on different anatomies and heat & rut cycles. Most stories under this au are adult themed. BUT its not always about content like that. Your omegaverse au can focus on everyone's role in society and how they interact with eachother. Like how an alpha's job is to be dominant and take control since thats what society expects of them and pressure them in that role. But what if an alpha is as soft an omega. Or if an omega that's just as dominant as an alpha.

I feel like their is a lot of experimenting you can do with this au without it being sexualized. But like I said, due to the roots of this au, most are bound to be raunchy and sometimes even deal with non consensual matters.

But for everyone's sake and for Wattpad's guidelines sake, no sexual themes are placed within this book, yet I feel like you need to be a bit older to handle the subject. So that's why this books is rated 16+ but not labeled as Mature.
