After I regained my composure I took a deep breath and went inside the ballroom.

I glanced at Zac's table and saw that he's looking at me then when he saw me looking at him, he winked at me. I looked at Livy beside him and thank God she's busy snuggling with Nick.

I picked up my pace and went to our table.

Alex and I were in a different table because he's representing their company.

"Hey. Are you okay?" Alex asked as I sat beside him, he placed his palm on my upper back in a gentle manner to assure if I was okay.

I smiled at him and held his arm.

"Yes. I am fine. It's just that it's so suffocating in here." I said lowly.

Then he leaned on to me and whispered.

"Yup, super boring. That's why I hated to attend to these kinds of events. Do you want to go now?" He whispered and I smiled.

"Nope. I'm fine." I said.

"Are you sure, Erin?"

"I am." I smiled at him then he placed his arm on the tiffany chair I was sat on.

"Just hang on tight, this auction is the last program of the gala. After this, we can go now." He pronounced and I nodded at him.

Alex is a really thoughtful guy. I don't need to know him deeper to say that because I can see it in him that he's a good guy despite being a playboy. I mean, Livy won't also urge me to go out with him if he's a douche, right.

Towards the end of auction, Mr. Sherate's daughter, Giulia, came up on stage to announce another type of bidding.

"Hello, everyone. As I have mentioned earlier, there will be a new twist in our auction tonight. I'm sure some of you were being approached awhile ago to give the name of the person you want to be auctioned. Meaning, the names that they gave to us will be auctioned tonight and a one-day date with him or her was the subject for tonight's twist." She said excitedly.

Oh geez. How was this exciting? I mean it's creepy to be up there being bid upon by the people whom you don't even know. Oh my God. Also, what if someone did not make a bid on you? It's humiliating.

Anyway, I just hope that I was not in the list.

"Tonight, we have 10 names on the list. Also, just a gentle reminder, you only allowed to bid once per person. So, first name on our list is... Jessica Spencer. She's the Chief Financing Officer at the Sherate Shipping Lines. She's 38 years old and single. The one who referred her name was yours truly. So, Jess, come on up here." Giulia announced cheerfully and a spotlight was focused to a beautiful black woman.

You could see that she's trying to refuse but the spotlight was taunting her not to. Then two ushers fetched her to go up the stage.

Ugh. I hate that kind of feeling, being forced to agree.

Anyway, the names were called one by one. Now, down to the last name, whew, thank God, we're nearing to the end of this program. I can go home and relax after this.

But. NAY NAY! This whole day was a big jinx in my life.

"Last but definitely not the least, Erin McAfee. She's the youngest child of Rance and Desiree McAfee. She's 23 years old and already a senior editor-in-chief in PSI Publishing House. She's single and ready to mingle, according to Olivia North, her best friend and the one who actually provided her name tonight. So, Ms. McAfee, come on up." Giulia announced and I was shell shocked by it. Then the spotlight was focused on me.

I looked at Alex and held his hand tightly for support. He just smiled at me then I glanced at Olivia who's clapping and cheering for me. Oh God, I should've known!!!

Then the two ushers came to direct me to the stage. Oh. My. God. Olivia, I will kill you later.

I stood in the middle of the stage and the emcee started to auction me.

"Same as before, the minimum and reserved amount is $1,000.00. The highest bid price gets a one-day date with Ms. McAfee. Now, let's start the bid." The emcee announced.

"$5,000" Alex raised his number and I smiled at him.

"$10,000" another man raised his number.

"$15,000"

"$20,000"

"$25,000"

"$30,000" Oh my God. Can't this be stopped. This was the highest bid awhile ago. Geez. It's embarrassing.

"$40,000"

"$50,000"

"$100,000" Alex offered and I gasped. I looked at him and he was smiling widely, then I looked behind him to see if Zac's being affected in all this.

He is not. I don't clearly see because of this annoying spotlight but I can see that he's sported his poker face on.

Is he not going to bid on me? Why would he, right?

"$125,000" another man raised his bid and the emcee beside me gasped.

"$125,000 going once, going twice..."

"$200,000" Alex offered. The whole room gasped at the offer and I can see Livy, enjoying this.

You retard, let me see if you will enjoy what will I do to you.

"$1million." Said by the man manning the phone bidding.

I placed my hand on my mouth when I heard it and the room went quiet even the emcee beside me.

Who could this bidder be?

"O-one million dollars by proxy bidder 1428. Going once... Going twice..." The emcee asked then hits the gavel when no one dared to bid.

"A one-day date with Ms. Erin McAfee was sold to bidder 1428. Once again, thank you, Ms. McAfee for participating this auction, you may now go back to your sit."

I nodded at the emcee and went towards my table. Whoever that bidder is, I will return his money. I don't want to have a date with him/her.

As I neared our table, I saw Alex looking sad and irritated, I guess it's because he didn't win the bid?

I smiled at him and hugged him.

"Hey, thank you for bidding on me." I said. I was so grateful for him taking a bid on me.

I looked at him and he smiled sadly.

"I'm sorry I didn't win, Erin." He said.

"It's okay, Alex. But still, I am grateful for you willing to waste a huge sum of money on me. Thank you so much." I said and briefly hugged him again then gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"Anything for you, Erin." He smiled widely at me.

"Do you want to dance?" He asked after some time and of course, I agreed.

We stood up and he held my hand. I accidentally glanced at Zac and he was looking at me anger and fuming in anger. I ignored him and went to the dance floor with Alex.

We danced and I cheered him up for losing the bid on me. I mean, it's not that of a big deal though and I actually didn't want him to win because it would perceive him that he can advance to "more than friends."

Sam then asked Zac to dance with her as well. So, all throughout the dance, I was focusing on them. The gall of Zac, he had the nerve to hold and cozy up with Sam after he kissed me awhile ago. My God. I want to rip Sam's hands off as well.

This was making me hot headed and annoyed. So, after the song, I went straight to Livy's table to give a piece of my mind to her as well as to bid my goodbyes to her.

"You imbecile, why did you put my name on the list?" I asked in irritation which she just laughed it off.

"They approached me. Also, you're the first one the came into my mind. Anyway, you're the highest one day bid tonight, huh. I really have a very very very beautiful friend." She slurred a little and leaned her head on Nick's shoulder.

She's drunk.

I shook my head.

"Ugh. There's no use in talking to you. Just take care of her, Niccolo. We're going home." I said and Alex bid his goodbyes to the ON couple.

As we arrived in my apartment, I thanked Alex for tonight.

"No, thank you for agreeing to be my date." He said.

"Yeah. Haha. Anyway, I'll see you later?" I asked dismissing any further talks tonight because I was hella tired. All I wanted and needed is a full night uninterrupted slumber.

"Yup. See you." I waved good bye at him and waited for him to walk towards the elevator then I shut and locked my door.

Bubble bath, here I come!!!

As soon as my body hit the warm water of my tub, my muscles relaxed immediately. This was what I've been yearning since I came home a while ago. A nice warm soak in my tub with a classical music in the background and three lavender candle lit to give my bathroom a relaxing scent and ambience.

After about 30 minutes, I went out and washed away the foams in my body. After that, I did my nighttime routine. Now, I was all set and ready to hit the hay.

But.

There is always a BUT today!!

My door bell rang repeatedly telling me that the person pressing it was agitated and would want me to stop whatever I was doing and open the door.

Now, who was this fucking piece of shit!!!

As I looked at the video intercom, there stood Zac pressing my doorbell repeatedly. His coat was gone now leaving him in his white dress shirt that the three top buttons were unbuttoned.

"Zac, go home. It's late." I said through the intercom.

He glared at the camera and spoke angrily.

"Open the damn door, Erin, or else I will make a scene tonight." He said.

"As if you're not doing it right now. Go home Zachary. You're disrupting the peaceful night of my neighbors." I said again through the intercom.

"I don't fucking care! Just open the door, Erin!" He shouted. Oh my God, even without the intercom, I heard him. Geez. It's embarrassing.

I opened the door and not before I opened it, he pounced himself at me and kissed me hard.

I tried to push him away but I couldn't. My mind was telling me to push him harder but my heart said otherwise. So, I kissed him. That's what I've been wanting to do since I saw him with Sam.

All of my frustrations, anger, embarrassment, and exhaustion were put into that kiss. I guess he also pouring it into the kiss. Then, after a while, he picked up my legs and I circled it around his torso. He leaned my back onto the wall and proceeded to kiss me. Then, his lips went on to my cheeks then jaw and stayed on to my neck.

I moaned and gripped his hair because of the sweet assault he's doing on to my neck. After that, he went on to my lips and that's when he slowed down the pace. In contrast to the first kiss, he's being gentle which made the time stopped, for me. He explored my mouth as if it's the only thing he wanted right now.

I felt him moved us and my knees felt a softness. I peeked a little and I saw that we were already in my couch and I was straddling him. I didn't mind though because I was nos doing what I wanted to do ever since he mistakenly hugged me in their manor.

His hand went inside my rose gold pajama set and roamed around my bare back.

I shivered and it actually turned me on. So, I took the lead into the kiss. I gripped his hair tighter and pulled it gently so he could look at me. There I saw in his stormy blue clouded eyes were lust and an emotion he clearly wanted to hide.

I didn't care about it that time, I was more than happy to see that he finds me attractive to be able to feel the lust. Oh my God. He's attracted to me.

And then I felt his hardened shaft which made me stilled and stopped the kiss. I immediately stood up and distanced myself from him.

"This is wrong! Everything is so wrong!" I said and looked at him who also stood up.

"Erin." He took a step forward to me but I quickly stopped him.

"Stop right there, Zac. Just stop. I don't know why you're doing all of this! I just want to sleep peacefully tonight! And yet every time I say that to myself, you always appear out of nowhere and disrupt my peace of mind by kissing me. Can you please stop! I don't know what is going on now and I couldn't even control it!" I said in anger which he retorted in anger also.

"If you only listen to me, Erin. If you stopped seeing Alex then I won't appear like this. But you didn't listen, instead you defy my warnings and even gets physical with him. What? Are you two dating now?" He said in anger.

"Zac, why can't you understand that whatever I do in my life, it's not your fucking business! And you have no right to meddle in my life because we are not together! You're just my best friend's brother!" I said angrily.

I was hellbent mad now. This pent up anger and frustrations were eating me alive because I was so stressed in thinking what's happening between us.

From acquaintance to making out buddies. What the hell! It's making me crazy!

"You are my fucking business, Erin!" He stated and stood in front of me. He held my face with both of his palms and looked into my eyes. There again the emotions I couldn't decipher. What are they? Why was he showing it to me?

"You are and I am not just your best friend's brother." He said and gave me a peck on the lips.

"Sleep and take a rest now, Erin." He said gently and kissed my forehead. Then just like that, he went out of my apartment leaving me in this state.

What is going on? Did anything happen was real? Did Zac and I had a very intense make out sesh and ended up fighting?

Geez. And what did hd meant about my life was his business and he's not just Olivia's brother?

I was so confused, I actually don't know what to do anymore.

Ugh Zachary. Everything was all your fault! You disrupt my inner peace!

Dear God, what did I do to be in this kind of messy situation? All I wanted was to have a very peaceful and relaxing friday night. Why did Zac had to come here?

SURPRISE!!! This is my peace offering to you for not honoring my promise to upload in Tuesday.

Originally, I eliminated the auction part because it seems a little cliché here in wattpad. But SOMEONE urged me to publish it. Furthermore, the last scene, where Erin and Zac fought, it just came out and not in my outline story.
