Chapter 7: She returns...

Carter's POV

All that's been on my mind the past few pays was the interaction Fang has with the young wolves in the infirmary. She was calm, yet her eyes housed anger and sympathy. She took them in once they were healed, gave them their own rooms close to hers. Something about the three of them warmed me, though i know what the kids past must have been like. You can't just Hakuna Matata your way through life and not expect to get hurt somewhere along the way.

"Carter," my mate breathed softly, her warm eyes locking with mine. She motioned me off the rock slab I had been sitting on to the area she was in. She watched Aiden from a far, training like something I've only seen in movies. "He's a fighter... they both are." My mate spoke lowly making sure not to interrupt Aiden's concentration. But I couldn't help but wonder, "Where is Blaise?" Knowing both of them are inseparable.

"Right here," Blaise spoke softly from behind me giving me quite a scare. "Wait if you're here than.... who's that wolf?"

A twinge of fear crawled up my spine as the wolf that looked so familiar to me crawled closer to Aiden. Blaise tugged at the hem of Crimson's shirt as she watched Aiden intently waiting for the next move. He growled threateningly at the wolf in front of him. But it wasn't enough because out of the trees cane another, Aiden mid-shift.

His wolf grew since the last time I had seen it a few days but even then he was outnumbered by one menacing wolf. They lunges and he jumped snapping at the neck of the grey wolf, surprising both Blaise and I. Seeing the wolves move closer I stepped forward to watch the next movement. But Crimson held me back as my eyes clouded over,

'Omega... we are coming for you.'

And in that moment my breathing quickened, a little too loudly. Both wolves looked up to see me standing with the Alpha and the young girl.

No longer was their attention on Aiden but now on me. Crimson placed a finger on the hem of my collar and pulled me back to stand in front of me. She growled harshly, the two wolves from my old pack, Tombstone, climbing the slop to get to me.

"No..." my pupils dilate in fear as I tried to steady my breath. I picked up Blaise to shield her from whatever was about to happen next. "She won't let them take you," Blaise wrapped her arms around my neck and cooed very child-like in my ear.

Crimson locked eyes with me as Blaise whispered those words into my ear. My big bad mate shifting into a coal-black wolf, a moon crest on her forehead in white. She turned and jumped onto the brown wolf, each individual strand of fur moving to the breeze. Aiden pounced on the Grey wolf, thrashing at his face. They thrashed and snapped, teeth bared. Blood watering the grass beneath them.

"Carter..." Blaise gasped as another figure cane from the Shadows. "Forget all about me.. Huh Eathon?" Her voice rung in my head.

"These aren't your lands Ellena," I snapped at my old tormentors placing Blaise behind me.

"Watch your tongue Omega..." she swiftly pulled out a knife and with one move of the hand she slashed a moon on my cheek.

"I'm not afraid of you anymore!" My voice hitched, I was definitely still afraid and on the verge of losing it.

"Leave him alone!!" Blaise called out from behind me. My eyes darted to the small girl, Ellena moving like the shadows and grabbed Blaise by the neck.

"Leave her out of this Ellena!" I yelled grabbing he knife and held it to her neck. My yell lasted Aiden and my mate. Crimson howled summoning her elite as my voice rang through the trees. I squinted as my wolf heading kicked in, heading the boned being crushed at the jaws of my mate. Ellena cried out as she watched one of her warriors fall limp to the ground, blood dropping from the mouth often fearsome Alpha. The grey wolf escaped Aiden's grasp but was no match for Crimson. Only a few moves allowed her to hold in a headlock, her jaws tightening as she teased him with death.

Aiden climbed up and laid his head on Blaise's lap, Ellena's hand still around her neck. My mate returning to her human form, stepped up to face Ellena. Kody and Korrie handling the seas and the badly injured.

"Kill another, are how I care!" Ellena laughed maniacally. "Shut it. Because you're next..." Crimson's words were spat like poison.

"I could have your pack crushed with a flick my finger," she breathes into Ellena's face, the tormentor's eyes going wide with fear.

"Go back and don't step foot on MY land anytime soon." Her tone roared in the dead air. Ellena laughs tightening her grip on Blaise's wind pipe, my own hand clutching the knife against her neck. Aiden snakes his jaws around the wrist of Ellena, breaking the bone to allow Blaise to breath as Crimson held Ellena by her shirt collar.

"Kody, escort this trespassed back to her pack... and warn John that if I see another wolf of my land I will have no hesitation to kill anyone. Mark my words." She ordered as if death was an old friend that she came to greet often. Ellena collapsed at the hands of Crimson only to be dragged off to a car by the twin.

"Manipulative Lunas never get their way, dearie." My mate taunted from a far before turning back to the three of us.

Her eyes softened as she looked over at me. Her hand caressing my cut cheek with her thumb, keeping a brief silence.

Crimson laid her forehead my chest searching for the right words to say. She trembled a little, the adrenaline coursing through her veins almost too much for her to bare.

She looked over to Blaise who cane over and hugged her tight, the hands of Ellena still imprinted on her neck. Aiden shifted back and also cane to hug Fang. She sat on the grass and embragases them. "I promised you both I'd keep you safe and we'd get back at those who hurt you.." My mate tightened her embrace on the two.

Korrie has left with the dead corpse and the broken prisoner leaving Crimson and I with the young wolves. I lowered myself in front of my mate and smiled at her beauty. "She kicked butt today." Blaise growled playfully at me and I smiled. "Yes, she tends to do that... she's the big bad wolf around here." I joked but I did mean it. Crimson shot me a look and a small smirk, like the first day I officially met her. I couldn't help but look at Crimson, feeling a sense of safety.

"She'll keep you safe," I couldn't help but smile we Blaise and moved some hair from her eyes. "She took me away from a terrible place," my lips released a sigh.

"Those people... were from your old pack...?" Aiden questioned and I nodded with a hint of regret. "Blaise pulled me into the big hug as my mate uttered some words.

"I'd do anything to protect you three." She presses had forehead against mine. I smiled and held all of them close, no doubt in my mind that I would do anything for them.

Even through all the secrets we are all hiding...
