Chapter 10: Playing God

???

I sat in the dark contemplating the life I was given. My finger tips pressed against each other as I lean forward in the crimson red throne where I sort out my thoughts.

FOUR SLIP UPS

The voices and my wolf yell breaking the still existing silence. I hate when they yell at me. It's hard to shut them up. They all have names. They all have faces.

"Get in here MUTT!" I snapped waiting for the tiny caprice to tremble in my presence. She walked in her head bowed. She shuffled softly, the girl no more than ten years of age.

I can't help but laugh as she bows before me her forehead pressed to the cold floor as she whimpers. Her back filled with whip lashes her skin discolored, her cheek bruised purple.

For my own amusement I leaned over and whispered the command in her ear.

"Fetch my beer." She tried her best to silence her whimpers as she staggered to get up. The girl underfed to weak to try and stand on her own.

"GET UP!" I kicked her rib cage and she let out a cry. She ran out of the room in pain before she could get whipped for insubordination. I licked my lips as I placed the list of failure on the small table that I moved in front of my throne.

"MUTT!"

She shuffled speedily into my throne room. Her head lowered. I grabbed the chain around her neck, making her yelp with fear, as I grabbed the beer with the other.

"Out..." My whisper sent panic into her eyes as I shoved her to the floor turning back to the list on my table. I downed half of my beer as I reviewed the most recent of names.

Aiden and Blaise.

I knocked over the table letting out a monstrous yell. They were supposed to come back to me the little mutts. I should have killed them both laid in my merciless hands.

My head went into a frenzy giving me the absolute worst splitting headache. The voices wouldn't shut up and at this point I had no more beer to drown them out. It began to feel like the whole room was spinning.

"I-"

I took a big huff of air.

"I will get them all!"

Stumbling around I knocked more things over.

Hatred grew in me.

Anger took over me.

"Ian- Get a grip!" My mate ran to my aid. But she knew better than to use my name.

"Sorry master. ." She began to cower and I laughed rather menacingly.

I tightened my grip on the whip handle. She knew better than to whimper or beg. But I still had the urged. I raised my hand and struck her face with my backhand.

"Be grateful it wasn't a fist"

I rose my feet to keep an elevated playing field. My mate shrunk at my feet, cowering in a bow.

"Yes master. ." Tears formed in her tired eyes. I knocked her in the head. "Stop crying you putrid pest. Be grateful you still have a mate! I could utter those words~"

She cut me off in whispers.

"N-no master ple-please.."

I stopped and whipped her for interrupting.

"Fetch me a bottle of wine. Only then will I consider forgiveness."

She ran off and I, splitting headache and all, sat back on my crimson red throne.

I will get them.

Them and little Marisol  too...

I'll fix the world and bring them to their knees.

Even if I have to purge their pack house to do it...

"PENELOPE MY WINE!"
