We arrived at the hospital I was nervous to say the least. Ren and I went to the front desk while Nora and Derek sat in the waiting room.

"Excuse me miss, but we are here to see the woman that came in earlier today. We want to see our mother can you please tell us were her room is." I ask the blonde hair blue eyed short woman who was the receptionist.

Receptionist "Sure thing kids just don't cause to much trouble she just had surgery. I can page some to show you two to her room if want." she smiled being sincere.

Ren "That would be nice." he said with smile at the woman.

Receptionist "Kelly can you come to the front reception desk. She should be here in a moment."

The nurse kelly a small framed woman with long brown hair and brown eyes dressed in scrubs told us to follow her. She led us down the hall and through some double metal doors after swiping her key card. We were now in the recover section where they put people to stay over night to recover. It was cold and quite back there. We came to a small receptionist station that had two nurses working on computers. Kelly then led us past them and down a hall towards the rooms. She stopped in front of a white door with a small window. Next to the door was a number that corresponded with the room. Room number eight and under the number label was our last name Knight.

Kelly "This is her room. If you need anything one of nurses will at the station." she said before leaving us.

We both took a deep breath before entering the room. The room was a cream color. We couldn't see her bed because of the gray curtain that enclosed its self around the bed. I noticed that to the left of us was a very small sitting area. To the right was a small wardrobe and a door that I assume led to a tiny bathroom. Ren and I approached the bed. It was mom her light brown long hair was sprawled across the pillow. Her heart shaped face was bruised and she had bruise around her eyes. They had her hooked up to a heart rate monitor, breathing machine, and a IV. Ren picked up her clipboard that was attached to foot board of the bed.

Ren "It says according to her chart she had a punctured lung, fractured hip, fractured ankle, and some swelling on the brain."

Looking at my mom laying in that hospital bed hearing all that Ren said it crushed me. Tears crept up on me I tried blinking them away but there was no use. In seconds fresh tears spilled down my now flushed cheeks. I felt angry at whomever attacked her and myself. This was my fault she was here. It was my fault it should of been me. I covered my mouth in a effort to muffle my sobs. Ren rushed over to me tears filled his eyes as he held onto me. He embraced me to his chest wrapping his arms around using his hands to rub small circles into my back. Ren tried his best to sooth me.

"Its my fault Ren it should of been me. Its my fault I'm such a fuck up dad was right everything is my fault. If they never would of adopted me mom would be happy and healthy and married."

Ren "Ava don't you fucking say that!! You were never a mistake!! Dad was wrong about you and its his fault he missed out on us not yours so don't you ever think or say those words again." he held me closer and wiped my tears away.

"I'm sorry Ren, I just feel like crap."

Ren "I know sis, but will get through this together like we always do promise." he held me close.

Suddenly the heart monitor went hay wire and began to beep loudly. The door swung open two nurses and a doctor came in. The doctor rushed over to mom and started CPR with the help of one nurse. The other nurse approached us and ushered us out.

Nurse "I'm have to ask you to wait outside the room. I'll update you after we get things under control."

She rushed us out side where we waited in the hall. I held on to Ren crying as he petted my hair. We both where relived when we heard that the beeps had stopped. But it was short lived we saw them carting mom away.

"Where are they taking her is she ok?" I asked.

The same nurse that moved us to the hall came up to us.
Nurse "I'm sorry kids but your mother is being moved back to surgery. We think she had a stitch burst. We want to make sure it was just that. Its nothing to major we would like to ask that you do give me your number so we can contact you."

Ren gave the nurse are numbers and told her to call us as soon as they knew was going on. After that we made our way up front where Nora was reading a magazine and Derek was asleep. To my surprise I saw Raven walk in through the automatic doors. He was dressed in black pants, gray panic at the disco band shirt, some brown chucks, and a black beanie. His gray eyes looked tired and dull with dark circles around them.

Ren "Guys were ready to go home now."

Nora "Ok Raven you take the boys back to Ava and Ren's ive got Ava."

Raven didn't argue with Nora for once and just shrugged. He led the boys out to his car. I was left with Nora who looked at me with concern.

Nora "Lets get you home girl" she wrapped her arm around my waist and gave me a big hug before leading me to her jeep wrangler. We got in the car and put are seat belts on.

Nora "When your ready to talk on the way home go a head but if you feel the need to cry go a head girl cause I wont judge you. I'm here for you Ava I got your back. Just say the words and will take the long way back if you need it."
