Bailee kept count of the groups who finished. She'd have to fight Mara at some point in the end. The groups finished rather quickly. Mara's pen clicked closed once the last group went before her and Bailee. She turned her head to Bailee, "Ready cupcake?"

Bailee paid no attention to Mara and walked up the steps to the arena. Mara followed behind her. The chatty kids turned silent. They all gaped at what was about to go down. Bailee started to heat up. Her legs wobbled. Mara sensed the uneasiness in her. "Let's get started shall we?"

Bailee quickly calmed herself. She took her starting stance carefully analyzing Mara. She'd never seen the lady fight before. There was no way of telling what she'd be capable of. Mara started in her first position. Her eyes locked on Bailee's. One of the kids ringed the starting bell. The score board blinked red.

Bailee swung first in no specific area. She just wanted to get Mara started. Then the tables turned. Bailee didn't see Mara move, but there was a burning sensation running down her back.  Bailee jumped back in fear. Mara stepped forward. The kids stomped the ground and started to whistle.

Mara smiled. In an instant Mara went from being in front of Bailee to all around her. All Bailee could think about was how could someone be so fast. Mara started to slap her teasingly. She kept shuffling in this tiny circle trying to grab Mara, but Mara was just to fast.

"Is this not your speed?" Mara laughed. Bailee gritted her teeth and stuck her foot out hastily. This caught Mara off guard. There was a loud thud, and Mara was on the floor. This was Bailee's chance to pin her. Before she could pin Mara, something stopped her. She was completely frozen. Drips of sweat ran down her face. Bailee's heart raced. She'd seen this before right? The sudden stop. It happened to Eve when she went mad once. Who had the power to do this?

Mr. Adam....

Bailee's eyes looked down to Mara. The kids went silent again. The photo played back in Bailee's head. Those two babies, they're twins aren't they?  That must mean...

"You're just like Emily, annoying and clueless." Mara got up and wiped the sweat off her face.

"H-how do you know my mother?"

Mara released Bailee and she dropped to her knees. "You get a fifty for today. I'm a little disappointed. I thought you'd be better."

"Better? I'd say that fight was a little unfair."

"A fight will never be fair cupcake. I thought by now you'd understand. Plus I beg to differ" Mara looked Bailee up and down before turning back to the class.

"So you- so you mean to tell me, and that whole time, necklace," Aaron stuttered. It took a good bit for Eve to explain all that had happened even with her leaving out the completely terrible parts.

Eve tugged her white uniform, "You okay?"

He nodded brushing back his brown hair. It flopped down in waves covering his right eye. He laughed, "I'm going mad, aren't I?"

Eve smiled, "Welcome to the club buddy. Are we done here? Wait where is everyone? Oh no I'm late to class."

"Well I skip all the time. It's no biggie. Plus you don't even go here."

"That's the funny part. Some Penny girl said I was and gave me this uniform. She was the student council representative."

Aaron blinked, "We don't have a student council representative."

Eve felt an uneasy squeezing in her stomach. If what he says is true, there's a lot more to this place then a school. Eve thought hard for a minute, "Follow me."

"Where are we going?" Aaron asked as they stepped out the front courtyard.

"You'll see." Eve lead him down the same path Max took to get to the shack. She and Aaron stepped over towards it. She pushed open the door. It was the same way she left it except now the entire room was engulfed in a bright morning light. Eve touched the painting of Casper, or Logan. The same fearful child stared back at her.

Aaron whispered, "I don't like the way that kid is looking at me."

"Yeah well me either. This blonde boy, Max, he used to live at the base. The base got destroyed, but why didn't he just move to the other base like the rest of the kids? He doesn't seem to know who I am. Then I find this here, and I can't even look at it," Eve turned away. Aaron stood silent as if uneasy over the show of fear or any emotion.

"Uh I'm sorry. It just really bothers me."

"Looks like a mystery. I'll help you solve it if you want. I'm a reliable source, like an undercover cop."

Eve laughed, "Sure thanks. Just saying if you die, its not my fault."

Aaron shrugged, "That's the best part."

About thirteen years ago...

"Mara? Who names there child Mara?"

"Please just read my profile!" Mara begged. She'd been waiting a while to hear back from the modeling agency. She was a good looking young lady with many talents. All she needed was a little push out into the real world and maybe fame would come. She lived with her mother in a small town where, according to 15 year old Mara, was boring. "So?"

The fancy looking modeling agent cleaned their glasses, "You power lift?"

Mara shook her head with pride, "For five straight years, yes ma'am."

The agent sat her profile down in disgust, "Okay, um Maria. We'll uh... let you know if you made it."

"You can't be serious!" Mara slammed her hands on the wooden desk, "How dare you sit there and stare down at me like I'm some sort of cockroach!"

The agent rolled their eyes, "Can you leave?"

"No. No! I, I have the right to be here. Am I not pretty enough! Are my eyes too small? Is my nose not symmetrical enough for you?"

"Security!"

A tall man came in and took Mara up on his shoulder. Mara kicked and pounded her tiny fists on his broad back until he threw her out the back door. She got up and wiped the dirt off her outfit.

"The nerve of some people," she scoffed.

"You look like such the model, have I seen you before?"

Mara jumped up at the sudden voice, "Oh my curly cubes! You scared me."

"You seem to be looking for a way to be famous, am I right?"

Mara looked the red headed girl in the eye, "Yes anything please!"

"Phoenix, I was sent here to look for some new students. I think you'll fit in just fine." Phoenix took her by the arm and threw her into a bag portal.
