I swung back and forth, completely lost in my own thoughts and misery. That's why I jumped as someone plopped down on the swing beside me, chuckling as I emitted a small shriek.

"It's not funny!" I huffed, but the smile on my face gave away my true emotions. I was truly glad he was there next to me. Something about his presence seemed to make everything better, even if just a little bit.

As I turned to look at him, I realized he was already staring at me. His breathing fanned my face as it had once before. He was smiling, looking into my eyes as though they were two sparkling gems.

Somehow, our lips connected, and sparks seemed to fly, as cliché as that sounds. In the midst of all the chaos surrounding me, I felt a happy for once.
