Sixteen
This grabbed what is left of my heart strings.
Great. I thought as Azula leaves for whereever she is going. "Hey Fuyumi!" Natsuo calls as we slip off our shoes by the door and I set my bag down too. "You just missed Azula." my sister calls from the kitchen (?).
"Hey, I thought a friend to replace her." Nat says as we walk into the kitchen where he was cooking. "Is that your way of saying that Shoto is here?" Fuyumi asks as the door opens, in walks the half-devil. He is copying Azula's style. "Hi Fuyumi." Sho walks over and gives her a hug. I honestly don't know if I should say anything. "Oh, who might you be?" my sister asks upon seeing me. "The friend I was talking about, Azula's old roommate." Natsuo introduce me. Seriously Nat? "The one that she refused to say the name of." Fuyumi huffs before putting on a smile "Well it's nice to finally meet you since Azula refused to tell me your name."
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you it." I say to her, rubbing the back of my neck. "Sorry, but unless your name is Toya, you can't surprise me." Fuyumi says. "Well-" Nat, Sho and I give knowing looks to each other that our sister catches.
"You-" she takes a closer look, "It's me Fufu." I say the nickname from our childhood, causing her to cover her mouth in shock. "I can't believe it." her voice muffled and tears shining in her eyes. "You better, because I ain't leaving again." I then pull my sister into my arms.
"Where have you been?" she hugs back. "Taking care of Azula for the most part." I answer her, I definitely missed this.
Azula lost most of her show of emotions after her quirk had manifested, and I didn't help with getting grumpy whenever she came into my bed during the winter.
Fuyumi starts fuming at our younger brothers about not telling anyone that I was alive, even freezing Natsuo when he tried to get away. I put a hand on her shoulder "Relax Sis." I say, hoping she does "I told them not to tell anyone." Not really, but I'm willing to cover for them. This time, Fuyumi turns to me "And you!" Uh oh "How come you didn't come back until now?" she asks, her arms crossed "And don't you dare blame Azula."
"It's a long story." I answer her.
"I have time." fun! "You might want to sit down for this." I sigh.
We all go into the living room, her sitting in the couch, me in a chair and Shoto in freeze my partner in legal crime. "Start talking, because Azula wouldn't say much about you in general in the terms of roommate." Fuyumi says, still not in a good mood. "Do you want the simple answer then explanation or the whole story?" I ask her as the other two take a seat on the floor and couch. "Simple will work." she answers, that's easy on me. "Alright, have you heard about the VAS or Dabi?" I ask, she nods "Wasn't 'Dabi' Azula's first word and nickname for you?"
"Yeah. It was also my alias as a villain." I tell her, I still remember when Azu said her first word. Both Dad and I was in the room with her, Mom and Shoto. When Azu first said it, we all thought it was her way of saying Daddy until she reached her arms out to me, saying Dabi.
"There is no way you could be a villain." Fuyumi laughs like I pulled the best joke ever. "I still don't know if I should take that as a compliment or not." I mumble as Shoto speaks "He's not lying Fuyumi."
She stops her laughing and looks at me "Are you serious?" I nod, "But why did you let Azula go to UA to become a hero?"
"To see her smile again." I lean back in the chair "You should've seen her when she got her acceptance letter from UA."
"What do you mean by again?" Shoto asks, sounding confused and concern about his twin "I know she had a monotone, but she smiles not long after on the first day of school."
"Weren't you in a bit of a better mood that same day?" Fuyumi asks/points out to our baby brother.
"Let's just say Azula didn't take the separation very well." I say, those were the dark days. I can easily count the number of the times Azu actually looked happy, or less depress.
"Toya." Fuyumi says "What do you mean by that?" she sounds worried too.
"She has depression and a bit of separation anxiety. It was worst when she was a kid." I answer. Everyone looks heart broken, "Hey, she's doing better. And she will give you hell if you start giving her pity." I say.
What's up y'all? Sorry for it being a while since I last updated. >~<
