Tired Day With The Team
Lucy's POV
The team and I walk into my apartment, and I crash onto my bed.
"Who knew looking for a cat could be so tiring?!"
"We were looking all day." Erza replies.
"Mm... I guess so."
My stomach rumbles.
We really had been out searching for quite a while, and it'd slipped my mind that I hadn't eaten at all.
My stomach growls, begging for food.
"Lucy, are you hungry?" Natsu asks.
"Why do you ask that?"
I turn my head, looking to him.
He had this awkward look on his face.
"W-well, I can hear your stomach from here, and honestly, it's making me hungry."
"Then go get some food you dimwit..." Gray mumbles.
"I'm going to break up this fight before it begins so we can go get some food in peace." Erza mentions with crossed arms.
They start to make their way out the door, but Natsu looks back, noticing I hadn't even gotten up.
"Luce, you coming?"
I sigh.
"I don't want to move, but... but food..."
He laughs, walking over and sliding his arms under mine to pick me up.
"W-What are you doing?!" I ask jeeringly.
"I'm dragging you out! What else am I supposed to do?!"
"Uh, I don't know... not that?!"
He sets me on my feet, standing by the door.
"I gotta protect you, and you need food, so we're getting food! Come on, let's go catch up with the other two!"
I smile, following the pink-haired boy out the door.
Gray and Erza stand at the bottom of the staircase in my building, waiting for us.
"What took you so long fire for brains?! Have you snuck in the window so much you forgot where the door is?!" Gray shouts jokingly.
I stifle a small laugh, knowing what Gray had said was only the truth, but Natsu just glared at me.
"I said no fighting!" Erza yells.
"They can't help it when they're always fighting..." I think to myself.
I want to say it out loud, but I think it'd only earn me another glare, as well as a speech from Erza.
The four of us walk down the calm, quiet street my building was located upon, running into a cafe along the way.
"Is this place good?" Erza queries, her question directed to me.
"I don't know. I've actually never been in here before, let alone noticed the place. Maybe it's new?"
We decided to give it a shot, going into the small, cozy place.
I took note of the decor, knowing in my mind that this place wasn't in fact new, and it'd probably been established here for around a year now.
Immediately, we were seated.
No one was there but us, and I could see why.
The place wasn't very noticeable, and I'm surprised we were able to find it.
We order some food before getting into a conversation where the topic was constantly changing to the most random things.
By the time food came, I was struggling to remember all we'd spoken of beforehand.
I took a bite out of my sandwich, the soft, warm bread filling my senses.
Why had I never seen this place before?
If only I had a good enough nose to smell this amazing food from my window.
Natsu and Gray raced, trying to see who could finish faster.
Erza would've put a stop to it, but she was too busy eating the strawberry cake she'd ordered for her lunch.
Finally, everyone finishes up, so we pay and head out.
"It's been both fun and tiring." I claim with a smile.
"I couldn't agree more." Erza responds.
After the tiring day we shared, the team decided to part ways...
Well, most of us.
