Journal App of Wendy Sullivan
(Keep out or I'll dig your eyeballs out)
7.15 a.m.
Lance finally found out that I knew nil about tennis. Whatever, I guess. It's not like I claimed that I was athletic from the start. If he thought I was, he must be delusional.
And damn, it's seven in the morning. I'm not even functioning right. Right now I'm hiding in the toilet to type this up because I'm. Totally. Freaking. Out. Which is weird, because usually sassy queens don't freak out, right?
So anyway, when Lance hit the tennis ball in my way for the first time, I totally ducked. Obviously. That weird fuzzy green ball? Yeah, it's not to be looked down on, really.
That's when the weird thing started : Lance actually threw back his head and laughed. Laughed.
I mean, that was really something new. This may sound weird, but it has never even crossed my mind that he was capable of laughing. But when he did, he looked and sounded like an absolute angel.
See? Now you see why I'm freaking out?
I couldn't have thought that Lance Cold looked like an angel. Seeing all those words in one sentence even made me feel weird. I think I must be mad. Yes, that's the only explanation right now.
Yay then, let the madwoman conquer the world.
Uh-oh, Lance is knocking on the bathroom door.
"Wendy? You don't have to hide in there just because you missed the first shot, you know," he said, an amused tone at the edge of his voice. "Come on, let's try again."
Try again? Then he's gonna laugh again. Oh God.
I'm gonna go out, cover my eyes, never look at him and I'll be fine. Yes.
