{Eight Months before}

Marco Pov
I watched her as she stared out towards the ocean. She seemed so calm and out of place, almost nervous to even move. You looked at me and watch my eyes as yours shine brighter than the sky. Your smile so bright and filled with joy and just the look you gave me made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

The way you laughed and the way you pointed towards things made me feel lucky. In those moments you seemed happy to be by my side but deep down I knew you wanted him and not me? I was just his back up and nothing more.

"Can I ask you something?" I looked at you as you drew in the warm sand "Sure, what's up?" She looked up at me "Why did you stay here instead of hanging out with your friends?" I chuckled and blushed "I don't feel like getting in, and besides the beach isn't for me you know" she giggles and holds her knees close and sighs

"Sure..I wish I could swim, I never really learned how to" "What? Really?" She blushed and I felt bad cause I made it sound like it was something silly "I didn't mean it to sound like that.." I lowered my head and looked at the seashells "Its fine Marco.."

The whole time we were there you seem to create this bubble and you wouldn't step out. I needed to get you out so I held my hand out which surprised you "What are you doing?" She asked confused "Lets go get some ice cream, the others wouldn't mind us being gone for a few"

the way that you giggled made my heart race "Well I can't turn down a free treat" I chuckled "Yeah if you did I will be highly offended" I said fake crying "Oh shut up you clown, come on" you held my hand as we ran on the beach towards the stands. The way your hair moved and your laugh just made me feel lucky.

As we waited you were giving me this look, it was like a sweet and innocent look. It made you look even more beautiful than you already were "What?" I asked with  a smirk "I don't get you" I raised a brow "What do you mean?"

She shrugs and spins around a bit "Star? What do you mean?" She stood still and looked at me "Why are you taking care of me? Like Oskar is supposed to" I blushed and bit my bottom lip

"Well aren't I your friend?" She smirks "Yeah? But Oskar is supposed to act this way" you'll never get oskar to change his ways, not even the prettiest girl could change him

"Well Oskar isn't always going to be dependant..besides I'm actually kinda burning in this heat and want something to cool me down" she scoffs

"Well your dying of heat cause your wearing a hoodie in the middle of summer" I smirked "Its actually transitioning into fall but weather here is summer all year round" we laugh a bit "Whatever smarty pants..thanks for this though" I nodded "No problem.." as we got our frozen treats we sat down on a bench and it was actually really hot.

I set my treat down and pulled my hoodie along with my shirt off. I sigh and shrugged my shoulders, it didn't matter we're at a beach and it's normal to see a shirtless dude. As i went to get my treat I noticed star's cup squished in her hand "Star? You kinda..uh" I said pointing at her hand "Oh..shoot"

she stood up and went towards the trash and tried saving her treat "What happened?" She was red, could be the heat or is she blushing? "I zoned out! Thats all!" She said loudly and chuckled afterwards "Okay..? Well so you want me to buy you another" she avoided looking at me and I was confused, did I do something wrong?

"You don't have to marco, it was my fault and I'll feel bad you wasted money on me again" I chuckled "I don't mind..wait here I'll be back" I stood up and went to get her another one. As i returned she was sitting down staring at the water

"Star, are you okay?" She looked up and nodded "Marco can you like..put on a shirt it's kinda distracting" she was blushing and then I blushed because she saw me take my hoodie off and she felt flustered "Oh my god..I'm sorry star here" I have her the treat and I put on my grey top and she seemed to relax a bit

"How much do you workout?" She asked giving me a side glance "A couple times a week.." she nods "it's funny" I looked at her "What's funny?" She giggles "I always pictured you to be skinny and lanky but you're actually pretty built, were you always like that?"

I blushed and scratched the back of my head "Uh no, I wasn't I was actually pretty chunky back then" she raised a brow "That's hard to believe.." she giggles and we sit in silence and hear the waves hit the shore "We should head back" she says as she stood up "We don't have to?" I said softly "What?"

"I mean..we could go back and watch them have fun..or We can have our own fun?" She gave me that look again and smiled "What's on your mind Diaz" I stood up and noticed I was towering over her and held her hand "Come on"

As we got to the arcade she started laughing "Okay this does seem fun" I watched as the neon light cast over her and her white shirt shining a light blue "What do we do first?" I looked around and back at her "What do you want to do? Ladies first." She looked around and pointed an area "Glow in the dark mini golf, loser has to buy pizza"

I smirked and walked closer towards her "What does winner get?" She pauses a bit and looks into my eyes and I see her breath hitch "Winner gets to pick next spot for another hangout" I nodded "Alright deal" I held my hand in front of her and she took it "Can't wait for the free food"

we laughed and headed inside, it was fairly full but not really. There was mostly couples and groups of friends hanging around fooling around not really playing the game correctly. I didn't care cause I was hanging with star and it was fun. The way she focuses and how playful she could be. I just wished she didn't have to like Oskar.

When we got to the final hole, I was winning by a couple points and Star looked frustrated because she wasn't gonna get a free pizza. It didn't matter because I would have bought the pizza either way "Marco your cheating" I scoffed and gave her a look of hurt "Wow..hurtful and besides I'm not cheating..you are cause I saw you kick the golf ball in" she giggles

"I thought you weren't looking" "But I was nice try though" after 4 attempts I made it and it was Stars turn. She looked at the angles and smirked at me "I can make it in with one stroke" I scoffed and rolled my eyes "That's impossible it took me 4 tries" she giggles "Watch and learn Diaz"

she positioned herself and held focus and as she hit the ball it went right towards the hole "Hole in One! Ha! I'm your face sucker!" She started prancing around me making silly faces which made me laugh and others looked our way "Okay..okay you win fair and square let's get the pizza"

she had a bright smile and we sat down at a table and ate the pizza. She seemed so happy that she won but then I remembered since she won she picks where we hang next "So..where are we going to go next time?" She stops eating and looks at me "Oh..right" she wipes her face and hums

"We can hang at my place. We can watch a movie and have fun, If you like" I nodded "Sure sounds like fun" we stayed a bit more until my phone went off and hers did as well "Guess it's time to go home" "yeah" we walked out from the arcade and i walked her home. She gave me a hug and a smile

"We'll hang this weekend okay?" I nodded "Sure just text me" she smirks "I would but you never gave me your number" I blushed and walked towards her "Sorry..anyways here" I gave her phone back and I took off

"Marco!" She ran towards me and placed a kiss on my cheek "Thanks for today, I had fun" she waved and went towards her house and I stood there like a lovesick fool.
