Today I woke up with a headache because yesterday whole night I was thinking about Siddarth's words and trying to get clues from his words, what was he going to do? Because already I was terrified of his acts and It would be better to take precautions to prevent the disaster. So the whole night ran out like that and only I closed my eyes around three thirty. Oh God! It felt like someone was bashing my head with a hammer. 😖

I could not even take Panadol or Paracetamol for my headache since I had to take thyroxine medicine. So taking my daily dosage I was out to complete my chores.

At one stage I could not bear it so holding my head I leant onto the kitchen slab. Someone poked my arm and lazily I looked at the person because of the sweating smell I knew very well who might be the person.

" What happened?" he asked with a concerned look. I just shook my head indicating nothing. When I turned to leave he held my hand softly. " I know what I am doing now everything will irritate you. But please I am really asking, what happened to you?" I looked at him and the way he asked me, melted my heart. So without scolding him I just said " Nothing just headache."  Revealing the honest reason I left from the kitchen. He also did not try to follow me asking more questions.

Since having the headache I took a body wash and got readied to go to work. If I bathed it will increase. While I combed my hair, through the mirror I noticed something kept on my wooden table which was behind me. I turned and went near to the table and saw a card of Paracetamol with the note ' Have this after the meal'. I shrugged my head but tears brimmed up in my eyes.

All these years, in this house no one dared to care about my health. Abi was the only one who got me medicine. Now what happened to this bastard? When I craved real love he wasn't there for me but now he tries to do things even without I'm asking him. I was really scared of his caring side. Did he have any motive behind this act or did he hit his head somewhere else and all his dead nerves start to work properly...

Because for me it looks like some coma patient who woke up after a long time. He was really confusing my head and I was in dilemma whether to believe him or not....

Wiping my tears I put the Paracetamol card in my handbag and started to get ready. When I was serving meals a few times he tried to get my attention but I ignored him since constantly Kavya was looking at Karthik and me. Quickly serving them I went to the kitchen.

I'm sure Kavya felt something different with his behaviour. That is why she looked at us like that. Karthik will never let down this matter before creating a huge mess. When I heard the screeching sounds of the chairs, my nerves got alerted and I waited until I heard all three chairs screeching sound. Then I could confirm that three of them left the dining area. Making sure everyone left the room I quickly had my breakfast and left to my bedroom to get my things.

Entering to my room, before leaving to work for a second I checked my appearance through the mirror but froze seeing him behind me. I gulped my saliva because I did not expect to face him now. " K... Karthik.." his name left from my mouth unknowingly. I turned quickly to check whether it was really him or my hallucination. But indeed he was standing in all his glory.

" Did you take the medicine?" he asked in a casual tone. I just shook my head. "Where is that? Now take it." saying that he kept the water bottle on the table and tried to come near me. "Please, stop" I told to him and he abruptly stopped in the same place and gave me a questioning look. " Karthik please It will be good if we keep the distance. Still, my mind is in haze and could not accept all these things. If you really care about me as you said, you also do not make it hard for me." I asked him folding my hands 🙏.

He looked at my folded hand and face. After that, he wiped the unseen sweat beads from his forehead and started to walk here and there. Suddenly his phone started to ring, he stopped and saw the caller ID. And seeing the name frown started to appear on his face.

"Hello?"

"No, I'm in... Washroom. You just stay near to the car. I will come quickly." saying he cut the call without waiting for the other person's reply. Keeping the phone inside of his trouser pocket he came towards me but stopped a few distances away from my figure.

Stuffing his palms inside of his trouser pocket he looked at my face for a few seconds. Couldn't bear of the heatness of his stares I averted my eyes to another side. "Kayal, please look at me while I am talking. I know it will be hard for you to accept this reality. But this is the truth and it will never going to change. I will not pressurise you and will give you enough space to think. But remember one thing, time will not stop for anyone. I already wasted mine, hope you will not make the same mistake too. "

Pausing he gave me a little smile and said." Do not forget to take medicine before leaving. And if you want anything please let me know. I know that you will not ask anything from me. But I just want to tell, you that I was not therefore you in past but hereafter will be there for you always ." calmly saying that he went out of my room...I just stood there watching his retreating figure and did not know what to feel...

Today when I reached work everyone seemed all happy. Ruhi came running to me and dragged me to the staff room before I could hear what was going on. "Ruhi, what happened, why did you drag me here like that?"

"Akka promise me you will not get upset after hearing what I'm going to say?" I looked at her doubtfully.

"Akka.. Do not look at me like that...."

"Ruhi stop this childishness and tell me what is that" because I have heard more bitter things than I have ever thought.. But still, I was standing here... hopefully I could bear this too...

" Akka, today morning Abishek Anna told us that he is going get married soon. Yesterday they went to the girl's house. Since everyone in his family is happy with the proposal and he likes the girl too, so they have confirmed the date for the engagement and marriage.

That's why everyone was gossiping about the news. So I dragged you here thinking you would get upset hearing from them " I was really stunned to hear this newfound news. I am feeling some kind of pain but at the same time, it did not affect me as last time. So I smiled and told.

" Ruhi it was not a big thing. You could have told me before. See you really wasted my time" Giving her a small smile I went to change my uniform.

After she left I just sat down on a stool holding my head. The only question I thought was.....

' Why me? '....... 🤷‍♀️
