Bruce's P.O.V.

"I'll ask you this for the last time Loki: why did you want the tesseract?", Thor's voice resonated through the room and two way glass.

"And I will tell you this for the last time brother: I do not know as I was not told. Honestly, is it that complicated for you to comprehend?", The younger prince of Asgard silkily said. The thunder God seemed frustrated and turned his back on his brother.

"You are not my brother. Not anymore." With the swish of his scarlet cape, our Nordic teammate came out of the interrogation room, leaving Loki under the murderous glare of Natasha. Where other criminals would shudder to even take a sharp breath, it didn't seem to affect the God of mischief.

"Well that's the first sensible thing he has spoken since a century actually." The ex assassin did nothing but punch him square in his jaw which knocked a tooth out from her prisoner's mouth.

"Say one more word without being asked to speak, and I will make sure all the remaining 31 come out." I grimaced when I heard the impact from the other side.

"Afraid that you will be the next victim if you confess your feelings towards her?" With her index covering her lips, I couldn't see the (Y/n)'s slightly worried curl on them.

"Don't worry Bruce. We will request her personally not to punch you in your jaw but to instead slap you.", Tony comforted. More like teased. His words made Steve smile while (Y/n) allowed a ghost of it.

"What? Why would I have any feelings for Natasha?" I didn't notice the blush creeping onto my face.

"You are look like a candy cane whenever you talk to her, Bruce. I know I might not understand today's world but I do know that this happens only when a man fancies a lady.", Steve commented. I scratched my head looking down, unable to counter the very well made point.

In the meantime the door to the hallway we were standing in opened and in came a seething Thor. As soon as she saw him coming, my best friend and leader came in front of us with Steve by her side.

Ratri?

(Y/n) had sent her to Cho in Korea to check if there were any injuries were caused during the battle. The doctor informed that she shall keep Ratri in observation for 2 weeks and treat the injuries if any. We had sent her right before we came to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s heli carrier.

That's how the nightshade tigress was missing.

"Loki is not done with his mind games. He seems to very stubborn as he even refused to speak.", Thor informed. (Y/n) took a look at the man behind the glass once and click her tongue.

"I don't think so Thor." All of us turned our heads in an inquisitive manner towards the purple clad princess. "If, as he said earlier, this Great Titan guy had instructed him to hand over the tesseract it's only logical that he didn't tell him why and if Loki was under his command he didn't ask why.", She continued.

"But what assurance do we have that he wasn't lying to your face then?", Steve promptly asked. Black Bird smiled.

"Steve, Loki was playing chess and chess is a game which requires all your concentration and nobody can lie so easily when their entire concentration is on a game. That's why I made him play that.", The other reasoned.

Another question came to my mind and involuntarily my face scrunched up.

"So Loki is innocent?"

"Hold up one damn second. Reindeer Games might've attacked New York because he was being controlled by some random alien but what he did once he came here was entirely done by him. What about that?", Tony questioned folding his hands in a thoughtful way.

Unable to find an answer to this all of us looked at Thor.

"Loki shall face Asgardian justice for his crimes against humanity but I assure you, it won't be too hard as he didn't do it out of his own mind. Besides, father wants to meet him." The other declared. "I shall take the tesseract back with me---"

"I am sorry but the tesseract stays here. It's in the science lab for the time being and that's about as far as I can allow it to go out of my sight.", Fury announced walking in with an entourage of agents, Clint and Maria by his side. Thor scowled.

"The tesseract belongs on Asgard. My father had been capable of keeping it safe for more than a hundred moons before he sent it to a Midgardian land called Noraway."

"First off, it's Norway and second your father sent it to us. I don't know about how you demigods function Thor, here on Earth we have a thing called as 'finders keepers'. "

At Maria's comment (Y/n), Steve, Tony and I shared a look with each other which clearly said

what? Does she think the tesseract is some kind of a chocolate she found lying on her desk?

Fortunately or unfortunately enough Clint laughed and asked her the same question. Only he said nickel and couch instead of chocolate and desk. That was the fortunate part. The unfortunate part? A whole debate broke out among the other 4 people in the hallway.

The debate would have been enjoyable had we been able to listen to everyone clearly but it was simply cacophonous.

"Is this what a fish market looks like?", (Y/n) whispered to us. Tony shook his head.

"I am pretty sure a fish market is much calmer than this." All of us smiled at the comment while the billionaire tried to put the 10 minutes long debate to an end. There was a small problem though. He couldn't.

All he got was a 'shut up!' from the 4. I laughed internally. Tony was not exactly the perfect man for this job as it was a job for someone with authority and a tongue of silver to match with it. Someone who had even taken Nick Fury by surprise by her words. Someone who led our group of misfits.

Someone named (Y/n) Acharya. I looked at her with a knowing smirk when I saw her push past a dumbfounded Tony Stark.

"Enough!" That was all it took to shut the mouths of the 4 heroes in the hallway. She had just raise her voice by 2% and it carried an authoritative tone with it. They turned their heads to look at her.

"Stop debating like fish mongers please. Have some decorum of this place. And Thor, you do realise that your voice is booming around the whole vessel so you need not compete with a loudspeaker." Clint's mouth dropped open while Thor had his eyebrows furrowed in confusion and disbelief. Maria had a hint of a smirk while Fury just stared.

Steve and I wore proud smiles and Tony went for the kill.

"You all just got served." I could see the crown princess's lips morph into a little smile which she used to cover her arrogant laughter.

She closed her eyes to compose herself and intertwined both her hands together in the front.

"Now. Let's talk like civilized agents. Shall we?" No one dared to oppose her authority.

"Good. Now Thor, Fury is right. By exposing the power of the tesseract to the universe, Loki has not only drawn himself enemies but also he has made several other species of aliens greedy for its power.

If you keep the tesseract in Asgard it's like you're positioning a target on your back.", She explained.

"See? That simple. The tesseract stays with S.H.I.E.L.D. ."

"No it doesn't.", Black Bird countered, snapping her head towards the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. .

"Excuse me?", The latter asked. "Weren't you the one who said that the tesseract was not safe in Asgard?"

"I did but I also didn't say that it was safe with S.H.I.E.L.D., Director. Do you think I would even let you wander around the tesseract after what I read?"

"But we can safeguard it here, your highness. We have high level security here which we have upgraded." This time Stark felt the need to step in.

"Remind me Fury, how much security you had put around the cube when it was stolen in the first place?", He asked.

"Stark's got a point. You had your best men watching over it yet Loki took it away from right under your noses.", Steve supported.

"What assurance do we have that it won't happen again? Perhaps with a worse villain, with a bigger army and a more disastrous plan? Then what?", I added. Defeated, the African American man sighed.

"What do you expect me to do then? Throw the tesseract into the ocean?"

"Precisely but instead of the ocean, you can throw it into the moving ocean.", She advised folding her arms. Except me, everybody looked lost.

"I was with you till not giving the cube to S.H.I.E.L.D. but you lost when you said the moving ocean part.", Maria stated. The warrior princess and I laughed lightly.

"The answer to your question agent Hill, I am sure, Bruce would love to reveal." She turned her head towards me. "Green Bird, if you will."

"Of course, Black Bird. So, (Y/n) has this little training room kind of thing under the Brahmaputra to which only a limited amount of people have access to and correct me if I am wrong (Y/n), she is suggesting that why don't you allow her to house the tesseract there. Right (Y/n/n)?"

"Absolutely copy book, Banner. You took the words right out of my mouth.", She complemented.

"Well, I have only lived with you for 19 years.", I replied. The both of us laughed at my comment. Then Clint's voice chimed in.

"You're saying that we should keep one of the most powerful substances in the universe in a 3rd world country?", Clint asked.

"Yes."

"Think about it. S.H.E.I.L.D. has the highest form of security making it the most obvious location for the cube to be in but, as Clint said, who will expect a 3rd world country such as India to house such a powerful element? That too in a remote place such as the United Provinces of Pragjyotispur. As for a memento or the rest of the world, S.H.I.E.L.D. can retain the scepter."

Fury's hands went to hold his temples, signalling that he was processing the offer. He then made eye contact with the Crown Princess of the United Provinces of Pragjyotispur.

"You know even you will have a huge target marked on your back when you take this back." (Y/n) chuckled.

"Don't worry about that, Director. I have a plan." (Y/n) assured.

She whipped out her phone from her pocket and dialed Sri's number.

"Sri? Place an order at Tiffany's for an aquamarine ring..."

"What does she need the ring for?", A confused Clint looked around for an answer which no one had, including me.
