Daniel's P. O. V

I sat down on my seat, I can't keep my mind off Jaiye and what she said to me yesterday.
Somehow I did not feel like coming to school today.
And I've been soo moody since yesternight.

Yesterday

I pressed the bell, and waited patiently for an answer.

"Why are you just coming?" Debby asked when she saw me in front of her.
"Must you ask stupid questions?!" I asked angrily almost pushing her out of my way.

I walked upstairs and went straight to my room, took a long shower, well was lost in thoughts in the shower, changed into the clothes I would regard as 'very much comfortable.'

I bounced on my bed,  trying my best to fall asleep,  but I couldn't.
So I tried reading too, but my mind was on Jaiyeola and I kept replaying our conversation in my mind.
Just great!
The first time I fall in love, the girl doesn't 'feel the same way.'

Then I stood up and went downstairs to get my MP3 from were I was charging it.

"Don't use your noise to disturb me oo." Debby said, and I guessed she was doing her assignment.

I rolled my eyes at her.
"I'm hungry, what should I eat?." she asked me,  her wahala is too much and as she can see,  I'm really not in a good mood.

I shoved my hand into my pocket angrily and brought out a five hundred Naira note,  although I planned to use the cash I collected today for something.

"Take and bring back change,  and do not disturb me." I said looking very frustrated.
She stood up and collected the money.

"What of you?" she asked looking a bit worried and curious.

"I'm not hungry." Somehow what I said was not clear, I felt to lazy to make words.

"Can't I take everything?" she asked I gave her a deadly glare before hissing.

"Bring back three hundred naira!... Everything korh...." I replied before walking upstairs, somehow she frowned at me but I ignored her.
She's the least of the problems I'm facing now. Then I heard her leave, grumbling too.

After playing it the fifth time, Debbie opened my door and came in.

"Can't you knock?!" I snarled, she looked at me rather surprised than confused.

"It is not like you were dressing up,  sorry oo... Margret Tasha...I just came to give you your change ni." she replied making me more furious.

I walked to the door and collected it angrily.
"Did you buy for me?" I asked clearly wondering why she had two nylon with her.
"Shebi you say you are not eating?"
She asked.

So this naughty girl had money with her before,  she now bought double.
Some sister she is.

"You know what just get out... Bye bye ." I replied almost pushing her out as I locked the door.

Later when Mom came back she called me to help her prepare dinner,  so Debby was washing the fish, while I was rinsing rice, and she kept talking about something I was not interested in listening too.
"Who are you talking to sef?"
I asked her after noticing that she has been blabbing since I started to rinse the rice.

"You nah." she replied looking somehow frustrated.
"Well I'm not listening and I'm not interested, so shut the fuck off!" I said looking more frustrated.
I have warned her about talking too much. 😣
The thing is very annoying.

She frowned at me and then became quiet. 😒
So I went back upstairs when I placed the rice on the gas cooker.

Dinner was boring and mom kept complaining about me, not always taking my meals serious.

"You haven't taken the second spoon, your spoon is only dancing on the rice... C'mon eat your food."
Although that did not ring a bell and I kept staring at the rice and fish instead of eating.
I was lost in thoughts.

"Yesterday you kept pressing your phone now you are not eating. Is it not you I'm talking to?!"
Still I did not say anything and I just kept staring at my food.

"Did Jaiye say no?" my mom asked.
Wait... What!!!???😨
How does she know Jaiye?.
How does she know I like her?
How does she know she said no?

"How do you know Jaiye?" I asked looking very surprised, but she was very much surprised to see my reaction, when she mentioned Jaiye and I came back to reality.

I'm bursted!

"So it is Jaiye."
My mom said finding it amusing.
"Yes, I mean no!." I replied looking frustrated I placed my left hand on the left side of my face, clearly embarrassed. my mom started smiling and Debby was grinning.

Ohh my goodness!

"C'mon you shouldn't be upset because she said no." my mom said.
"And who told you she said no? "
"You told me nah."
"When?"
"Just now."
"Just because I was thinking of her does not mean she said no."
"You looked sad when you thought of her, and your reaction makes it very obvious." my mom said giggling.

Give up Daniel, she studied Psychology, she's probably good at reading minds.

"Don't worry she's probably thinking about it." My mom said smiling at me.
Somehow a smile crawled unto my face, but each time I saw Debby grinning the smile disappeared instantly.
The girl can be very annoying, I wonder how her teachers and classmates cope.
Big head!

"You guys are still too young to be thinking about love,  right now you should be focusing on your studies." She said, I still did not say a word, I turned my head to see Debby staring at my mom,  well in a very funny way,  she placed her right hand on her cheek.
I started laughing when I understood what Debby meant by that stare.

"See who is advising." I said still laughing, my mom started blushing.
The thing is she got pregnant for my Dad even before her Youth service corp and yes she got married two years after she gave birth to Derrick, she also started dating my Dad since high school,  so that's the reason we are making fun of her.

She should not try to advise me oo.
Because I already know the story of how her love life started in high school.

"Anyways don't disturb yourself because of a girl,  there are many other girls in life."
My mom said looking very serious now as she faced her food.

She can't understand that it is Jaiye I love.

"And if things later work out, don't hurt her, but still focus more on your studies, okay?" She asked looking very serious, I nodded before taking another spoon of rice.

"And most times, holding onto something for too long, would just hurt you and again you people are still too young to be thinking about all these things...You need to understand what you feel, is it love or something else and if it is love what kind of love is it?... I hope you don't make the same mistake I made."
She uttered, and with that the mood changed and we all became quiet.

I nodded then continued to eat my food.

Today.

"Daniel!." Stella yelled, calling me back to reality.
The four of them stood in front of me.
God knows since when they have  been calling my name.

"Ohh... Yes?. " I replied using my hand to brush my hair backwards.

"What is the name of the girl." Timi asked,  I'm not letting him find out about JJ and this time I'm  thinking before saying a word.

"Which girl, do I look like you that will be carrying all the girls around. I'm not a womanizer." I replied looking at him in a way that felt like there was something irritating on his face.

They all started laughing at what I said except Timi.
He frowned and rolled his eyes at me,  I have been acting strange since Wednesday, and I'm always found lost in thoughts.

"We want to go and buy food oo. "
Paul announced.
So it is already break time, just great!
Fridays are always very fast.

"Okay it is already break time."
I replied before looking at the note in front of me.
Since when have I been thinking gaan sef?.

"This one that you are forgetting everything, don't forget tomorrow  Is my birthday oo. " Stella said pulling her ear.

Great!, already forgotten!

"No, I won't forget that."
I replied like I did not just remember.

"Oyah Les go oo " Timi said still frowning.

Is he that hungry ??
"I'm not hungry." I grumbled, before covering my face with my right hand.

"I'm sure you haven't eaten anything today." Stella said looking a bit amused.

"So?."
"You have to eat something." She said narrowing her eyes at me, as if what is going on in my mind is written on my face.

"I'm not hungry."
"You must eat something. "
I sighed and shook my head in disbelief.

These girls will not kill me.

"Fine!" I replied looking a bit depressed.

I placed my right hand into my pocket and brought out a two hundred Naira note.

"Take buy one doughnut." I said.

I really don't feel like eating anything, and I might just waste it when I buy it.
" What else?." Paul asked.
I wonder what their business is, I said I'm not hungry and this one is asking me what else.

"Nothing." I replied almost immediately.
"Won't you drink anything?." Stella asked again, I sighed holding my face with my left hand.

"No, thank you."
"So only doughnut, lai lai... You must drink something. " she said shaking her head.

Egbami, is it by force ni ?

(Help me)

"Buy me doughnut and bring my one fifty change!." I replied angrily, can't they see that I'm not in a good mood ni.

She was surprised to see my angry reaction and she gave me a questioning look.
"Fine!, buy one Pepsi." I said before placing my head on the desk.

"So what will you buy for me?"
Stella asked,
Minister of annoying and frustrating innocent souls. 😣

I raised my head to see Stella smiling at me, she has chosen the wrong day to disturb me.

"Am I your Daddy ni?"
I asked looking frustrated, with a questioning look on my face.
She frowned, and the others started laughing.
"But you are my husband nah." She said grinning happily, 
Someone please tell me why she is happy
Abi why is she shining her teeth.😒

"Do what you like." I said before placing my head back on the desk.

I cannot kill myself,
I cannot go and kill myself,
I cannot come and go and kill myself. 😟
