Daniel's POV

Chill Daniel, she's only dancing with him that doesn't mean anything right?
I asked myself as I watched JJ and Timi dance... Other teenagers started screaming JJ's name since she was beating Timi in the dancing competition.

Wait what!?
Who knew JJ could dance?, you should see the puzzled look on my face right now.

"Chill bro, Timi's not going to steal her from you." Paul whispered into my ears, I did not notice him beside me as I faked a confused look.

"Ugh??" I uttered looking a bit shocked, how does he know I...?
He immediately started laughing when he saw my Jaws drop.

"C'mon don't pretend like you don't know what I'm saying." He added before throwing his arms up in the air.

"Well I really don't know what you are saying and I'm not jealous of Timi." I uttered looking a bit irritated.

"Okay then." He replied holding his hands up in surrender. And after that he disappeared into the crowd that was still busy cheering JJ.

I joined the crowd and suddenly gained a lot of interest in watching them dance.

There is my one and only crush and my one and only best friend. It is said that good girls end up with bad boys and JJ is a good girl right?

Soon everyone was cheering JJ and Timi frowned in defeat, the music could drive a person crazy, the beat was so great and it is now I know that Stella can really throw a successful party.

"The girls are the winner!" Aisha screamed in excitment throwing her hands in the air before Richard collected the microphone.

Well I expect that... RHS students can act like village children sometimes and trust me when I say all of them want to hold the microphone.

"It's still one one." Richard said as he continued to argue that the boys and girls are even.

"Bring out your best dancer now!" Stella screamed in the microphone after snatching it from Richard.
It took her a minute to snatch it from him since he was far taller than her.

Typical Stella Badmus!

"Where is Paul now?" Richard yelled searching for Paul in the midst of teenagers who were excited to see who would win the so called Dance Battle.

Just then I spotted the cowardly Paul run out of the house, he's well aware that JJ can dance more than him but he just made everyone to burst out in laughter, including JJ.

It feels good to finally see her laugh, I stood there smiling at her until her eyes met mine, her laughter turned into a warm smile and I was enjoying that short moment.

I swear I wished it never ended, she actually smiled at me... A genuine smile but thanks to Richard who dragged me to the dancing floor.

The funny part was me not realising that he was dragging me as I was too busy staring into those golden eyes of hers, I was clearly drooling.

"This is our best dancer." Richard said and those words brought me back to reality and it took me a few seconds to understand why I was standing in the middle of the crowd.

I still can't remember the last time I danced but still this is like a dream come true, I'm going to be dancing with the girl I love.
I'm gonna let her win right?

"Oyah play the music." Richard screamed an excited expression dancing on his face, Richard was grinning and the crowd was going JJ.

I caught Stella... She rolled her eyes, her smile disappeared, but why?
Then my eyes back on JJ she was already dancing and they were cheering her, I stood there looking like a dummy... Where do I start from?, I asked myself.

"Daniel dance nah." Richard uttered tapping his fingers together, in front of my face to be sure If I'm not lost in thoughts.

"Daniel you can do it!!" Stella screamed and I started to dance... Started with something simple but I kept wondering....

Stella is supporting me, why? Because a few minutes ago she was screaming JJ's name and mocking Timi but that changed the minute Paul whispered something into her ears.

So she's happy when JJ beats Timi and then when I'm dancing with JJ she's angry at first then she starts cheering.

Girls?

"The girls are winning!" Aisha yelled after snatching the microphone from Richard.

"Can't you dance ni?" a guy behind me asked and I immediately started to dance... It'd be a disgrace of these girls win.

"Daniel! Go Daniel...." it's then I knew the feeling of being cheered you literally feel on top of the world.

And then... The only thing I was hearing was teenagers from different angles calling my name.
It felt good to dance, and that with the person I love.

I won't even try to win, I'll just win.

"The winner is Daniel!" Richard yelled since everyone was cheering my name, everyone except Aisha, Vicky and JJ's friends.

Those ones stared at defeat angrily, the boys won!

And sooner than I noticed Richard and Paul the coward, carried me on their shoulders and they started calling me their king.

King keh?

"Put me down." I whispered to them, but they acted like they did not hear and continued to shout on top of their voices.

"Daniel!, Daniel!...." I sighed, and when I raised up my head, I could not find her again.

Where did she go to?
I asked myself my eyes searched the whole living room, one minute she's here and the next she's there.

"Daniel is the king of dancers!" Paul said before Timi snatched the microphone from him.

Crazy party!

"And I'm his manager, ladies If you wanna see him, you've got to come to me first." Timi uttered.

I shook my head in disbelief, I know he will never change... Sick guy.

But where did JJ go?

"JJ has gone... My king beat her at it." Richard said hitting his chest proudly, Daniella rolled her eyes.

"Will you put me down now?" I asked snatching the microphone from Richard, well that's what everyone is doing.... Snatching microphones.

"The king says thou should put'd him down to thy chamber." Paul said snatching the microphone.

Really?
This is a mad house!

I stormed out of the house after some teenagers continued to congratulate and introduce themselves.

I thought I was only going to be meeting students from our school but it's Stella Badmus's party.

I needed fresh air or else I might pass out, I hate the smell inside too... Alcohol and loud music, suffocation....

I stood outside for a while admiring the stars, the music wasn't so loud outside and the cool breeze was just great!

I turned my head to see JJ, she was outside seating on a bench and watching the stars.

Seriously?
I'm so bad at understanding girls, I don't understand any of them.

"Hey JJ." I walked up to her and surprisingly she flinched.
I thought she's some girl fighter now.

She shouldn't be startled by ordinary me....
"Ohh... Hey." she said smiling for a short while and then she faced the stars again.

Breathe in Daniel.
I pulled up enough courage to sit beside her, also was it weird that she was not dressed in a party attire like everyone else.

Just a black and white polka-dot top and black trousers, seriously?

"So I did not know you could dance." She uttered as she paid all attention to the stars.

Her eyes were shining!
Oh my goodness her eyes are shiny!

Idiot she asked you a question!, what was the question again?

"I also did not know you could dance, I mean you don't seem like a dancer." I said scratching the back of my neck awkwardly.

Is it weird that my heart is racing, and all I can see is her shiny eyes from the side view, she did not smile though.

"Well I can... Was once a happy kid, and I hope you enjoyed the party?" She asked now turning to face me.

With those ocean eyes that are driving me crazy.

"Not really... Ugh... um I only enjoyed seeing you dance with passion." I stuttered, while staring at the sky, I'm scared to look at her eyes when she's talking and facing me.

She smiled and faced the sky again.
"You still have a crush on me?" she asked, I felt weird when she asked that and it took me a while to answer that question.

"It's hard to let go... Of... Of my feelings." I replied, and I regretted it immediately... Why did I even say that?!

"I understand...." She uttered, still staring at the sky.

She does not understand, she's just driving me crazy!
Just chill Daniel!

"So why are you here?" I asked, she faced me and stared at me for a while, then I broke eye contact.

"Needed fresh air... And I know why you are here." she replied facing the sky again.

I faced her again... This is getting really awkward you know.

"You know maybe I do like you." She uttered smiling at the sky.
Wait whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!
Did she just say?

"Ugh?" I asked sounding like an dummy,my jaws dropped completely and a shocked expression danced on my face, I think my ears are playing tricks on me.

"Yes... I like you, I like like you." She said, she now turned to face me.
Debby please march into my room and wake me up, I think I'm dreaming again.

"Daniel." she called tapping her two fingers in front of me.

I cleared my throat and scratched the back of my neck again... Something I do when I'm nervous.
Infact I'm going to buy the whole world a gift today.

Please don't be a dream, is she teasing me or what, but she looks serous.

Now she was laughing at me, you should see the look on my face right now... Pull yourself together Daniel!, I told myself.

I smiled, and then she smiled after laughing.
"Sooo... I'm not letting go again." I uttered, did I have to ruin it and make it weird.

She did not say anything she just smiled and faced the sky again... I guess she's shy already.

"So why are you staring at the sky?" I asked, that's when I realise that I'm free to talk to her now!

Right now I've gone crazy like real crazy... This day must never end!

"Cause I'm scared to look into your eyes." she uttered.. I'm starting to think it's a different JJ.

JJ is never scared, or does she have an headache, I'm sure she's not drunk too.

" Why?"

"Cause all I see there is love."
She said smiling at the sky... JJ abeg no wine me now

Is she playing a prank on me?

"Well I love your eyes, but you're already hiding it." I said bursting out in laughter, she smiled and gave me a blow on my shoulder.

I'm starting to think her hand is made of iron, my shoulder felt it hard.

So she's shy... I'll put it in the list of things I will never ever forget.
She's never been shy before, she's never even loved a guy before.

Is she on drugs? I asked myself again.

We continued to talk, about random stuffs, we talked about school too and I noticed she did not really like girly conversations.

I made her laugh at some points, sometimes she stole glances and I just kept feeling on top of the world.

She faced me and we were smiling in the weird silence, we just sat there facing each other for a while... And that little while turned into minutes and before I knew what was even happening our faces were two inches apart.

Wait someone please wake me up from this dream.
