Stella's POV
So a happy birthday to me, I woke up very early because I still haven't done a lot of things like Plait my hair, wanted to do a very nice braid with wool but our school does not allow that so I just have to do it today.
Also made preparations for a photographer and makeup artist, I'm going to be doing a photo shoot then I'll send the pictures to my mom and dad then my friends.
I walked into the kitchen and made breakfast, this is like the first time I'm cooking breakfast.
When I was done with that I walked into the living room just to meet a birthday surprise sent to me by my mom and dad.
Like seriously I became so happy, gave them a quick call, thanked them and they showered me with prayers, like seriously Nigerian parents can pray from now till next year.
Imagine my arm started hurting and I later had to get a ear piece, when it comes to prayer Yoruba parents no dey carry last.
JJ came down stairs grumbling, her hair was messy and I think she got woken up by the band that were singing me a birthday song, still part of my parents birthday surprise.
"JJ good morning." I said giggling like an idiot, well it's my birthday.
She just nodded and moved to the dinning table, she brought out a plate and started eating the plantain and eggs I prepared.
Seriously?
"JJ you did not even tell me happy birthday." I said frowning at her, the band were still singing simi's latest song Duduke.
Jj raised her head and smirked "I thought the birthday was in the night." She said staring at me in a rude manner, almost like she was mocking me.
"You are well aware that it is to—" I replied glaring at her.
"Okay happy birthday favorite cousin." she said, she was clearly teasing me. She's so annoying.
"Awwwn thank you." I uttered smiling like an idiot again as I gave her a big hug.
I don't think she likes people hugging her.
The only thing she likes is food.
So after I kept all the gifts boxes in my room, the bands had already gone and I planned to go to the salon, so I took my bath and immediately left for the salon leaving Jaiye at home alone.
Jaiyeola POV
Stella came back earlier than I expected and immediately she went to get ready for her photo shoot, I just watched as she disturbed herself just to make her birthday perfect.
On my birthdays I do what I want and that's being with friends not planning parties making my hair.
The time I have been waiting for was fast approaching and I was glad it was already six thirty, party starts at seven o clock.
Stella started running around the house checking if everything was perfect, her dress, the decorations, it was really annoying but I just ignored her and deeped my hand into the bowl of meat pie.
"Don't touch it!" she screamed at me, I quickly picked one and bit it.
"Stellie!" the tiny voice called, and I immediately recognised it, it was Aisha one of Stella's classmates.
"Aisha!" And they both screamed a bit before hugging one another which was some how annoying.
Aisha was wearing a pink body hug dress,it was long though and Stella was wearing an off shoulder velvet gown, red in colour, big all back braids that touched her hips, her make up was fantastic though.
I walked into my room after exchanging pleasantries with Aisha, but I only left after stealing another meat pie and a five alive drink.
Daniel's POV
I walked into my room trying to detect where the sound of my ring tone was coming from, I picked it up from the one sitter couch.
Timi was calling and I tried to figure out why, then I remembered today is Stella's party, I totally forgot even though I still wrapped her gift earlier today.
"What's up?" I asked placing the phone beside my left ear, I could feel that the question irritated him in a way.
"Where are you?" He asked almost like he was yelling.
"At home, where else will I be." I replied trying to figure out why he is sounding so serious, I have known this guy for years, even before I joined them in Senior secondary school I had known him, he is never serious.
"Get your butt down here, today's Stella's birthday." he uttered yelling like this birthday was very important.
Well that is when Timi is always serious I guess, sometimes I wonder how he became my best friend and how he passes his exams... He's life is always about girls, he's a bad boy!
A player!
But still, he is my best friend and he has always been there for me so who am I to judge his personality and his tragic flaw.
The idiot never scores C's even though through out the class he is always staring at girls butts... Silly guy!
He's also gutsy and he most times flirt with female teachers especially the young ones.
And he finds a way to infuriate Mr Balogun.
"Okay I'll be there in fifteen minutes... Just be calming down." I uttered before chuckling, he hanged up after hissing it's then I realize that this party means a lot to him.
I quickly took a shower, changed my clothes, just a hoodie and jeans, snickers, wrist watch and there I was ready to go.
I could not wait to see our slay king— Timi.
I'm guessing he has prepared for this party, he can go as far as inviting other girls he knows... can't wait to see the latest chain the Bad boy will wear.
"Where to?" My mom asked when I got downstairs, she stopped what she was doing waiting patiently for an answer.
She was busy helping Debbie to plait her hair.
"A friends party." I replied staring at my wrist watch. Just great!
I was already late party starts at seven and it's already seven thirty.
I raised my head to see my mom winking at me after Debbie whispered something, and when they noticed the confused look on my face they started grinning.
"What?" I asked staring at them, I glanced at what I was wearing to see if I had not worn my clothes the wrong way or maybe I looked like an idiot.
So I confirmed and I was dressed all normal, and after three more winking by my mom I figured out what it meant.
"It's not JJ's birthday so stop winking like that." I uttered looking very frustrated.
Yes my mom is very annoying and Debbie only makes it worst.
"Well ever since I can remember, you've never gone to night parties and I hope this girl ain't influencing you negatively... I don't want anything to disturb you and your studies, and don't do things because your friends are doing it...."
My mom uttered clearly lecturing me, she went on and on blabbing rubbish and giving me advice that I really don't need.
"First of all it's not JJ's birthday and the celebrant is a close friend." I replied trying my best to explain things to them.
"Okay oo." My mom said as she continued what she was doing.
I opened the door when she yelled something again. "Don't stay long oo... Remember tomorrow is Sunday." I sighed and rolled my eyes even though I was not facing her.
I stood there by the door facing the gate as the cold breeze hit my face.
"Yeah yeah." I replied not sparing her a glance, forgot to even greet them bye as I closed the door gently.
I began my stroll to Timi's house, a nylon bag in my hand, I slid my phone into my pocket.
Timi, Vicky and I lived in the same area, they both lived two streets away.
So whenever we were going for Saturday classes, we either met at my house or Timi's... Going to a girls house is very awkward.
Especially with Nigerian parents, especially if they are Yoruba's, Jeez you need to caution yourself seriously.
I was walking alone in the evening, some people were still around the streets, some of them staring at me like they have not seen a human being walking at night.
"Vicky!" I yelled, she was dressed in a pink dress, and gold heels I immediately noticed her when I got to the street, she also held a nylon bag in her hand.
I couldn't help but notice her wonderful makeup when she turned to see who called her name.
She held her chest clearly showing that I startled her.
I ran towards her when she stopped to wait for me and in a few seconds I covered the distance as we then began to walk towards Timi's house which was four blocks away.
"Why are you just going?" I asked after we exchange pleasantries and a hand shake.
"Well I had to finish all my chores and my mom kept adding to tasks, I had to cook and all that." she replied, increasing her speed even though she could not walk well in the heels.
Girls?, Instead of them to wear what's comfortable.
"Stella's gonna kill me." she said holding her head dramatically.
"Not only you, by the ways you look stunning." I said smiling at her, she blushed a bit which I believe is normal, although some girls never blush...
JJ.
About JJ I'm going to be ignoring her till I no longer have feelings for her, it's going to be hard but that's the only way I can save my friendship... I mean OUR friendship.
A car parked in front of us which startled both of us, we froze on the spot since we were engrossed in our conversation. I strained my eyes trying to figure out who the driver was, I mean the car almost hit us and Vicky could not help but scream.
It was a bit frightening.
"Come in and stop staring like a lost goat." He's voice said making me recognise the person as I fixed the missing piece of the puzzle.
Seems like the bad boy is way too excited, he's even driving roughly.
I wonder who taught the idiot how to drive, probably a maniac like him.
"Are you mad you almost killed me." Vicky said holding her chest as she shook her head in disbelief.
"seems like you are both deaf... You no hear horn Abi?" he asked, hissed and got back into the car.
(Didn't you hear the horn)
"Seems like Party man is excited." I whispered and Vicky hissed in frustration before getting into the front passenger seat.
Well we were at fault anyway, we were too busy talking that we hardly noticed the car was heading towards us.
"Sha drive safely." I uttered before getting into the back seat, and to my surprise he started the car even before I could seat down.
He is so eager to see the girls.
Throughout the drive I kept praying while Timi and Vicky discussed random stuff and at some point, Vicky would yell at Timi for driving roughly.
I just kept praying that an accident does not occur, I'm never letting Timi drive us to a party.
I'm not sure the idiot has a license.
"Timi slow down now." Victoria would complain and the Bad boy will act like he is deaf.
So finally we got to Stella's house, I could hear the music three houses away and it only became louder as we approached Stella's house.
I always thought Stella had strict parents that cautioned her, I mean Stella can act stupid a times but she's a cool friend and she's very nice too.
Timi parked in a very improper way after driving into the compound, it was not a big compound though and I could only see a few cars owned by students.
So I got in holding my nylon bag containing the celebrants gift, that particular smell, that theme... Sweet Sixteen, Alcohol every where, Students from school, not only our school, rival schools and neighbouring schools partying together, making out, dancing, eating, drinking, playing games, pictures and the roll a bottle game I have always despised.
"Stella!!" they started their stupid screaming and squeaking, anyways I couldn't hear all of it all I could hear was the disco music.
My ear drums were literally begging for peace. "Why are you guys late, this is eight!" Stella asked rolling her eyes at me.
Wait someone tell me why she's facing me?, I mean Vicky and Timi also came late.
"Well they caused it." Timi said and after that I spotted him talking to a young female girl.
I trust Timi, his main business is to enjoy the party with the girls, making out with as much as possible.
"hey yo!" Paul greeted as I approved of the fist bump, we hugged slightly, talked about some random things, and then I spotted Timi playing the truth and dare games with some other students.
I expected the party to be something small but I'm seeing about sixty teenagers from about three different schools.
Soon I settled down at the small bar, there is saw Clara, JJ's classmates they were actually serving drinks, having a discussion and you'll actually think they are save guiding the drinks.
"Hey." I greeted the two of them, Clara and Ore they turned to see me, exchanged pleasantries, smiled and served me a drink.
"Head boy so you came?" Ire asked, I just smirked and nodded gulping down the coke they gave to me, it instantly gave me a brain freeze.
"Well it's my Bestie's birthday, so what's up... Where is JJ?" I asked staring at the two of them, they just started laughing and I sat there staring at them, waiting patiently to figure out what was funny.
"I knew you'll ask of her, what's up do you like her ni?" Ore asked as Clara giggled, it seemed like Clara was busy writing a note while the other one asked me a question that made me feel weird.
I sighed, maybe it's time I let the world know how I feel.
"Yeah maybe." I said staring at the note Clara was writing, they both went for another round of giggling which was very annoying.
"Yeah yeah very funny." I uttered before One whispered something into her friend's ear.
"So have you told her yet?" They asked again, looking very curious, so seems like Jaiye never tells anyone her secrets, well I'm not going to be telling them either.
"That's confidential information, if you'll excuse me... I wanna give the celebrant her gift." I uttered, they looked a bit dissapointed, girls and their aproko, they don't want to miss any of the gist.
I wanted to go and give Stella her gift when I saw a large crowd of teenagers gathered together screaming "Vicky!" more like they were cheering.
The girls started cheering Vicky and the guys cheering Timi, it was a dance competition.
And it was really fun to watch until the crowd started cheering louder for Timi who was dancing like his life depended on it.
Guys stood behind Timi and the girls behind Vicky, voices that screamed in unison almost became louder than the music.
Soon people cheered more for Timi who seemed to be dancing like he was an expert in what he was doing.
But Stella still continued to cheer her friend and the final winner was the guys, Vicky gave up and Timi smirked feeling proud of himself.
"You guys think you can win Abi?" Stella asked Timi as they both stood in front of their teams, I stood beside Paul watching the fun dance competition.
"Is that all you've got?" Timi uttered smiling like he had achieved all the success in life.
"You these guys you think you have made it in life?" Stella aaked making the crowd to burst out in laughter, some teenagers screaming 'mhad oo'.
"Nah only mouth you get." A guy I did not recognize uttered, and teenagers started screaming Timi's name again.
"Girls can't do anything." Another guy said as the guys continued with the cheering lifting Timi up. Paul and I just watched the whole thing looking amused.
Just then JJ came out of no where, she folded her arms standing in front of the girls team before uttering something loud enough.
"You people think you can dance, I challenge you nah... I'll show you that what a guy can do a girl can do better." She said smirking with all the confidence in her heart.
Timi smirked and crowd started screaming JJ!
Yeah that's the spirit, and then I started supporting the girls.
"Oyah play the music." some people screamed.
"We are not here to fight oo... Aunty Jaiye." Richard uttered, rumours have it that JJ is a fighter.
JJ just rolled her eyes, I don't think they both talked to each other before but Richard is a 'I don't give a fuck guy.'
"If you don't shut the fuck off a my fist might dance on your face." Jj said and the crowd went 'Ahhh!' 'Mad oo'.
I could not believe she was talking to a senior guy like that, I mean no girl has ever said that to Richard, every girl admires him— handsome guy stuff....
"Actions speak louder than words." Richard uttered smirking before rolling his eyes.
"That's why you should shut the fuck off!" JJ said again gulping down a Five alive drink.
Who knew this girl likes party, and I wondered if she could dance. Even Stella just stared at her a bit amused.
I was only interested in one thing to see JJ dance, the almighty JJ.
But it did not occur to me that she would be dancing with Timi?
Why did I not think of that?, does she like him?
Is that why she never ignores Timi even when he flirts with her?
It only makes sense now, she wants to dance with him because she has a crush on him, well she better know that Timi's a player.
Girls fall in love with the wrong person then they say guys are cheat....
It's all so wrong!
Who knew JJ could dance?
Let the drama begin.... 😂😂
