Nigeria, Gombe state.

The Fulani day event went by smoothly as Haneesa was showered with money, blessings and more money. It's like a budan kai but different since she was dressed in Fulani attire with a multi colored veil on her head, the necessary traditional jewelries were in the appropriate place on her body and her makeup was beautifully done by one of her friends who was a makeup guru. Her silky dark hair was backed in a low bun and her hennaned  hand shinning in the lovely weather of the state. Her friends were also wearing Fulani attire which she admitted look weird but beautiful on them, Amtullah was on full Snapchat mode capturing every moment with hash tag;Aneemaad2k18. It was a memorable and joyful day.

Haneesa👆

Haneesa's mother in law, Ummah as she was popularly called only showed up when she was asked to unveil the bride and after spraying her she left one would say she was forced to do what she did but nevertheless everyone had fun.

Now back to the groom...

Ahmaad's POV

"Where is Ummah?" I growled at Rakiya, my immediate younger sister who was dressed in her tees and T-shirt slumped on the couch as if there is no event going on outside the house.

"Oh Yaya, welcome home" she grinned reducing the volume of the television.

"I asked you a question!" I yelled and her body flinch in fear.

"S-she is in her room" she stammered sacred.

"Go and get dressed, don't you know your brother's Fulani day event is going on" I rolled my eyes

"ummah said we shouldn't attend the event"

"Don't let me go and come back and meet you here.. Baki da kunya koo?! Today you will tell me who is elder me or you. Gerrout of here my friend and go and welcome your sister in law" I hissed walking to Ummah's room where I banged the door open.

There is a limit to everything, haba! She refused to go to Abuja for any of my wedding events, she forbidden everyone from going even my siblings and now that the bride is in her house she won't come and do the mother in law tradition?

"Haidar!!" She yelled as I pace up and down in her room trying to calm down.

"Ummah everyone has been waiting for you for the past twenty minutes" I said and she hissed loudly.

"Listen as far as I am concerned no marriage is taking place here, you decided to marry a girl your mother doesn't approve right? Then go and unveil her yourself. Mstw!"

"Ummah DanAlllah don't do this, I thought we've discussed this already. I love Haneesa and she is now my wife so let's please go so you can conclude the event"

"I think I was not clearly enough son, I am not unveiling anyone so kindly close the door shut on your way out" she said and I stare at her shocked, I bought out my phone from my pocket and dialed my grandma's number, only her can make her daughter in law go and when she says a word, it's final.

"Assalam Alaikum Hajiya.." I called and Ummah gave me the 'what the hell are you doing look' i explained everything to her and she urged my to give the phone to my mother. After few exchange of words in fulfulde, she eyed me and sent me away saying she will be there in a minute. I know I will hear from her later for reporting her to Hajiya, the both are like water and oil and trust me they don't go along well.

The event was completed and after Ummah unveiled Anee and showered her with money she disappeared and I couldn't care less. Rakiya did her own part too and left leaving only Zubaina (my youngest sister) dancing and enjoying her self, no wonder she is my favorite, and Nabila was away for school in Kano.

"Wifeyyyy" I whispered in Hnaeesa's ear making her blush. Even a word I say makes her blush imagine I touch from me, ai she would melt away.

"You look beautiful"

"Thank you" she whispered back as Amtullah  took a picture of us. "awwwh so cuteeee" she shrieked and I laugh at her. After few hours, it was time for Maghreb prayers and the bride was taken to her side while I went to the masjid to pray.

"Ango.. Assalam Alaikum" Salman said as getting out from his car catching up with me right after I stepped out from the masjid.

"Walaikum Salaam do I know you please?" I played and he laughed.

"I am so sorry I couldn't make it to your wedding"

"What kind of cousin are you huh?"

"Wallahi you won't understand, I am just entering Gombe serf, daga Duku (a town in Gombe state) nake" he explained

"Why? And inna matan ka? Itama namata laifi ne? (Where is your wife? Have I wronged her also?)"

"We went together yesterday and arrived just now, I dropped her at home before coming here. She was so sad that we missed the Fulani day, maza sanda na lalashe ta kaman wata jaririya. (I had to pacify her like a new born baby)" he continued as we walk home making me laugh, it was a short walk home so he left his car there as we enjoyed the peaceful breeze.

"Ayah. But what made you go to Duku out of the blue? Is Hajiya okay? But I talked to her dazu, she sounded okay" I said worriedly.

"Baba mana kai ma ka sani (it's baba now, you ought to know) we went to check on our house in Duku"

"Oh sha apology is accepted" I grin as we enter my house

"Iyeee amarya is transforming you into one kain gentleman, Let's go and see the woman who is doing a good job" he teased and I rolled my eyes saying our salaams. The house was utterly quiet and I know her friends must be in the guest chalet cause they would be going back to Abuja tomorrow morning.

"Let me call her" I said as Salman makes himself comfortable on the couch nodding his head. I entered the room where Haneesa was typing away on her phone smiling one would think she is chatting with her boyfriend, she was now wearing off shoulder blouse and straight skirt, I walked to her and tapped her on her shoulder making her gasp in shock.

"When did you arrive?" She asked and I hiss in annoyance. "When you were busy chatting when will you notice your husband?" I snapped and she looked taken aback.

"Oh" she simply answered "sannu da zuwa" she added and I ignore her

"We have a guest, wear your Hijab and come out" I command leaving the room, I was flaring with anger but I managed to calm myself down in front of Salman. After few minutes, she comes out in the Hijab and they exchange pleasantries, he introduced his self cause I was too busy being mad and he left with the promise Inbihaj (his wife) will visit soon.

I take a shower and change into my black T-shirt and basketball shorts, Haneesa took a shower in the other room and when she came back she was wearing her pyjamas and a black cap over her head, she sat beside me nervously as if afraid of me.

Banxa kawai, why won't she be afraid of ehn? See the kain of attitude you just showed her do you expect her to give you a lap dance?

My consciousness said and I feel guilty. Maybe I should tell her then rules and regulations of this house before showing her attitude. Ayah the poor girl looked as if she was going to cry any moment from now, see how I was pondering on her like she wronged me. Maybe ma she is regretting marrying me, Inalilahi wa'ina ilaihi rajiun.

"Ahmaad.." She called before I could. "Na'am?"

"Did I do something wrong?" Her voice was so soft, careful and tangible that made me want to hug her and apologize. Oh Allah, what have I done?

Mstw! Scare the girl and let her run away a day after your wedding.

Toh you are back koo?

I never left ai.

Shege maza!

Yesooooo!!!!!

"Ahmaad!" She called again and I smile at her holding her hands in mine. "Please don't leave me, I am sorry. Yes I know I am a pig but DanAllah don't leave me" I rambled and she laugh.

"Who said I am leaving you? We just got married yesterday mallam"

"Toh na sani ne (do I know?)" I pout and she awwhed. I don't know what's so cute fah, girls and aww-ing.

"Tell me if I did something wrong"

"You were chatting with a man on our nuptial night! You didn't even notice my presence for Goodness sake, and you were wearing an off shoulder blouse and I know you planning on seeing our visitor like that. Anee you are mine and only mine, I want no man seeing what's mine, I am a very jealous person so be careful on what you do. And as for talking to boys that's a no limit point, I want you to cut off all relationship with any guy" I spoke why she listened attentively like a primary school student begin taught the importance of cleanliness.

"You could have said that earlier instead of giving me stupid attitude, and I wasn't talking to any guy it was Ya Mukky. And about cutting off relationship with any guy consider that done In Shaa Allah, next time your not comfortable with something just tell me"

"Thank you for understanding" I smiled hugging her and she hugged me back. "Amaryan Ahmaad ta shi muyi salan Isha'i"

"As' salaat!! And then sleep I am exhausted" she yawned

"Have your performed ablution?" I asked standing up and laying two prayer mats for us.

"No, brb" she said entering the bathroom and I smile watching her every move.
