Late Eid Mubarak lovely people. 💗💗

Abuja
The door bell chimed, lightly scaring Haneesa as she arranged the dining table, she quickly positioned the last cutlery on the table before grabbing a veil that was laying on the couch carelessly and draping it on herself so she looked modest enough to welcome her father in law inside her house. She unlocked the door with a wide smile on her face only for the smile slip away, "sannun ku dazuwa. (Welcome)" she moved away so the guests could enter.
As some acknowledged her presence, some walked past her and inside the house as if she was invisible, she waited by the door for her husband who needed to give her some explanations and when he walked in few seconds later holding a black box, she cringed.
"Ahmaa-"
"Relax babe. Please" he whispered placing a quick kiss on her cheek before anyone will see them not that he cared. She turned around and walked into the kitchen arranging a tray of drinks for her 'unexpected visitors' before reappearing in the living room.
"That's not necessary my dear, we were just leaving for our guest chalet" Abba smiled at her.
"It's nothing Abba. How was your flight?"
"Alhamdulilah" he replied before clearing his throat, "Bilkisu, Inna Naana, won't you exchange pleasantries with her?"
"We are the elders here, she is suppose to greet us first" Ummah replied with venom leaking in her voice.
"I believe it's not done that way Ummah," Ahmaad replied walking out of his room with Aslam in his hand who happened to wake up from sleep when he heard voices.
"You come into someone's house.. You greet them first. You meet someone sitting and you are walking by you greet them first, you are walking in a car and you see someone walking you greet them.. That's how it works Ummah" he handed Aslam to Nabiila who beamed at the little baby.
"We are elders for a reason. You have a mother for a reason! If you don't respect your mother how do you expect your wife to respect your mother!?" Inna Naana yelled making Aslam to clutch onto Biila, Haneesa rushed to the room to carry a wailing Aslaha. She placed her on her back effortlessly and used a wrapper to tie her while rocking back and forth until she calmed down.
"...Bilkisu don't.. Haidar say no more!" Haneesa heard the commotion from the living room. She sighed deeply. Why? Why? Why can't she have a peaceful meeting with her in laws without fighting, yelling and abusive words in the air?
"...asiri ta mishi, wallahi tallahi bi'llahi lazee asiri ta mishi" she leaned her ear on the door as the tears roll down her cheek. She never imagined this type of life but albeit here she is.
"..Auzu'billahi. Inna Naana how can you say that?.." hurt, betrayal, disappointment, shock was all she could decipher from her husband's voice. "..Abba please tell them to leave. SubhanaAllah. Ya Rabb! I can't even.."
She cleaned the tears with her palm before taking deep breaths and walking to the living room, she needs to stop him before he will say something he will regret. She needs to stop her husband before he will say something he is not suppose to say.
"Auzubillahi minashaydani'n rajeeem" Abba kept chanting while watching his sister and wife display all sorts of madness and childishness.
"You carried yourself all the way from Gombe, I expected both of you to come with peace but I was wrong. May Allah guide you both to the right paths. Please kindly leave my home" Ahmaad said calmly but his eyes were red from all sorts of emotions.
Ummah gasped, "Hai-"
"Please. Now" he cut her off and Abba stood up motioning for the two to get in the car.
"We will meet tomorrow in the office, Haneesa take care of yourself and your husband" Abba muttered as if ashamed of what had happened, he moved closer to Aslam who was on Nabiila's lap and patted him before placing a bundle of money on his lap.
"Abba.." Haneesa tried to say something but he stopped her, he always does that every time he meets the twins. It's like his way of showering love on his grandkids.
"They are my grandkids for a reason" he smiled. "Biila take care," he walked outside to meet a fuming wife and sister but he could care less.
🍀🍀🍀
"That was totally unnecessary" Haneesa said softly after dinner when Ahmaad exited the bathroom water dripping from his head.
"Oh Habibty, don't start with the what's right and what's not right lecture" he groaned wearing a plain white shirt and black shorts.
She placed the quilt over the twins switching off the lights as she turned on the lamp lights so the room wasn't completely dark. "I will and you will listen to me"
He fell on the couch bag tiredly, after his mother and aunts drama, he had a hot, long shower before reading the Qur'an while Haneesa and Nabiila prepared dinner while catering for the twins. After that, he played with his babies who immediately brought a smile on his face. They are his medicine for everything and anything.
"Shoot" he said to his wife who walked towards him wearing her black tank top and knee length trousers. She slumped herself on his lap while playing with his soft hair.
"That was uncalled for. Throwing your aunt and mother out of your house!"
"Hmm.. didn't you hear what they were saying?"
"I heard, but still.."
"Habibty please, let's drop this topic"
She sighed, "I'm your wife for a reason, I am suppose to guide you to the right path when you lose your way. This is certainly not a habit I want my Kids to grow up seeing. Imagine in twenty years, when InshaAllah Aslam will be all grown up, you and I will visit his home, and then he will tell us to leave his house, how will you feel?" she said very gently and carefully making sure he was listening to her.
She heard his breath hitched and she smiles triumphantly, finally. "Don't even ask me how I will feel cause by Allah I will be devastated. I will die Ahmaad"
He closed his eyes tightly. "I hate how she treats you Anee, she wasn't like this before, I promise"
She changed when he married someone against her wish..
"Let's sleep, Allah is with us Ahmaad. This is my test, InshaAllah I will pass it" she quickly wiped away her tears before he could see them rolling down her cheek but it was too late. he saw and his heart broke.
"May Allah forgive me, I'll call Ummah tomorrow InshaaAllah. Thank you for being the best wife ever my Anee"
She carefully but quickly sealed their lips so they wouldn't wake their kids up, and at that moment the kiss felt right. oh so right.
🍀🍀🍀
"Urm.. Arhhh.. Adda Haneesa?" Nabiila called fidgeting with her fingers nervously as Haneesa dusted Aslaha's body with baby powder.
"Yes?"
"Is it..-hmm I mean- if-f it's.." Haneesa quickly stopped buttoning Aslaha's green bodysuit as she watched Nabiila closely.
Nabiila never stuttered.
"Biiiiilaaaa what is it?!" She asked stretching on Biila.
"Oh Gosh. I can't say this" she his her face behind Aslam who was on her lap freshly bathed and dressed.
"Okay now I am curious, Nabiila what's up?" She finished buttoning the overall before sitting Aslaha down on the bed and turning her attention to her.
"If it's okay with you, can I have a friend over?" She finally asked Haneesa rolled her eyes.
"Idiot. Yes you, you're such an idiot. This is your brother's house of course you can have a friend over. I even thought it was something else, Biila don't be stupid" she reprimanded her.
Shyly, she palmed Aslam's hands with hers playing with his soft fingers. "Adda it's a he"
"What!?" Haneesa gasped, "Oh My God. Nabiilatu your boyfriend is coming over!? Ya Allah. Eeek! I can't wait to see him. what's his name?"
"Technically we are not dating now" she replied embarrassed.
"Spill" She said eagerly.
"We have been dating since like forever, I left home for my university and I met him in his final year, we started of as friends and quickly hitched up. everything was fine until he kept bothering me that he wants to meet Abba and ask for my hand in marriage, I told him it wasn't the best time, At that time things were.. Complicated. You were sick, Ya Haidar was sick, Naeemah, May Allah rest her soul, had recently died but he thought I was just avoiding him because I was seeing someone" she took a deep breath.
"So he left. He stopped talking to me, he avoided me. He broke me, I don't know if you can remember those days when-"
Haneesa caught her off by hugging her with Aslam in the way, "Oh Nabiiila. I'm so sorry, I should have asked, I should have been there for you just as you have always bee there for me" she ended the hug when her son started wailing, probably cause his mother was suffocating him from the hug.
"It's okay Adda Haneesa, I'm fine now, I promise" she sighed smiling.
"Nabiila you love him" she stated looking at her deadpan in the eyes.
"I never said I don't Adda" she shyly replied making Haneesa to roar with laughter, "I can't believe this."

"so? How was it?" Haneesa asked Ahmaad who was sprawled on the couch after Maghrib prayers with the twins on his lap.
"Alhamdulilah, he was impressed" he replied as she sits beside him and hand him the mug of tea he requested, she carried Aslaha and placed her on her lap.
"Alhamdulilah" she beamed.
"Have you ever realized how much this girl looks like you?" He paused taking his tea as he looked at his wife back and forth.
"What? No! She looks more like you" she argued making a kiss on Aslaha's cheek as she let out a loud sound of excitement beating her small palm on her mother's face excitedly.
"But she has your cute nose, look, and the shape of your mouth is the same" he insisted.
"Okay maybe that but I like to believe Aslam looks more like me that Aslaha" she flicked her hand on his cheek softly as he sucked hard on his sucker.
"And I like to believe they both look like you habibty" he whispered into her ear placing a kiss on her earlobe. She shivered.
"did you talk to Ummah?" She asked slowly and he dropped his empty mug on the center table.
"Yes," he replied "don't worry yourself about it habibty"
"I was wondering if I can visit Amtullah tomorrow, Nabiila is starting her service tomorrow and it will be so boring at home.."
"Sure but only if you will kiss me here" he pointed at his lips and she rolled her eyes.
"Aslaha can do it" she smirked and before he can reply the door bell rang. .
"Are you expecting anyone?" He asked as she stands up to get the door.
"No" she quickly replied, "oh Nabiila is" she adds smiling ignoring his questioning eye.
"You!?" She gasped at the person opposite her.
