The plane landed swiftly after long sixteen hours of sitting in the plane. Though Mukhtar booked a business class for Maami and Adda Hayrah, the couldn't help but feel rather very much uncomfortable and restless.

Each and every muscle of their body hurt, they didn't stop for any transit instead they flew directly to the states. They were eager to be by their baby love side.

Adda Hayrah stopped a cab for them and showed the driver the address Fareeda sent her before they boarded. Nodding his head at her, she retrieved her phone and dropped it in her handbag.

"How many minutes will it take?" Maami asked impatiently.

"Forty minutes, the hospital is far from the airport" she replied taking her mother's hand in her cold ones.

"InshaAllah she will be safe Maami" she consoled and her mother gave her a shaky smile. She wished so too.

It was the longest forty minutes of their life but at last they arrived. Adda paid the driver as he help them drop their luggage before the hospital and zoom off.

"Call Fareeda" Maami ordered.

"I just connected to their WiFi, I will send her a text. Remember we don't have a sim yet" she replied trying to contact Fareeda who said she will be out in five minutes.

"Assalam Alaikum you must be Hayrah" a man who exited the hospital said.

"Walaikum Salaam. Yes!"

"I am Al-Amin, Fareeda's husband. Welcome, how was your trip? Good morning Ma'am" he greet Maami who gave him a grateful smile.

"It was steady, Alhamdulilah"

"I will just keep your luggage in my car, please wait for me in the reception, I will be right back to direct you to Haneesa" he inform and they nod their heads thanking him.

After a short while, he returned and directed them the third floor where the ICU was. They spotted a heavily pregnant woman who was pacing up and down the waiting area and they immediately recognized her as Fareeda.

They exchanged pleasantries and without beating around the bush more, they inquired about Haneesa's health.

"The doctor came out a while ago, she is under control now but she has been in labour since yesterday. They might have to induce her" she said dreadfully.

"Innalilahi wa'ina ilaihi rajiun." The chant shocked.

"Can we see her?"

"They were just about to move her to another room, the nurse said when she is checked in she would call for us"

"Oh okay. Thank you for everything Fareeda, we appreciate it so much. May Allah pay and bless you for your hard work and assistance" adda Hayrah said hugging her.

"Amiin, Amiin. No need to thank me, Haneesa is just like my sister"

"I think we should get you home babe, you have been here for a while and your starting to zone out" Al-amin said placing his hands on his wife's shoulders.

"I am fine, no need to worry. I won't leave until I meet Haneesa" she said stubbornly.

"Don't do this to yourself and your child Fareeda, go home and rest please" Maami chirped in.

"But aunty.. What about Haneesa?"

"Call me Maami and we will be here for her. InshaAllah we will contact you if there is anything"

"Okay Maami, I will send my maid and driver with some food. What will you like to have just name it.."

"Haba Fareeda you've done so much already, just rest for a while. We will buy something to eat and that should sustain us for the meantime" Adda Hayrah said, she wondered how the nice the woman is.

"It's not done that way! I will send the maid with some solid food, please call us if there is anything. Habibty let's go.." She smiled as her husband help her up.

"I can't change your mind I see" adda chuckled "Don't stress yourself too much, Jazakallah"

"Wa iyyaki" she smiled and she walk away with her husband behind her.

"Haidar....." Ummah said her voice coming out hoarse, quickly standing up, she engulfed her son in a hug caressing him and letting her tears fall on him. She needed him to feel and know how much she deeply missed him.

"Ummah your strangling me" he said trying to break the hug but she didn't budge.

"My child, how are you? SubhanaAllah! I missed you Ahmadu" she cried more letting him go.

"Ummah please stop with the tears, I am fine as you can see" he replied wiping away the substance that rolled down her eyes.

"Alhamdulilah for that! Come and sit down my dearest son, be careful please" she said creating space for him as he seat next to her on the couch.

"Than God everything is gradually going back to normal Ahmadu. It will be just like old days only now you have a daughter" she smiled gesturing to Na'eema who was tugged in Munayarh's hand.

He smiled and reached to carry his daughter in his hand, "how is everything back to normal Ummah when my wife is not with me?"

"Nonsense Ahmadu, see your wife right before you what do you mean?" she laughed it off.

"Ummah what are you saying? My wife is not here"

"Ahmadu keenan! I understand the game you are playing now, don't worry it's not a big deal. We can remarry you two right now if you like" she said cheerfully.

Ahmaad frowned, he doesn't know what his mother has planned inside her head but whatever it is he will not be part of her drama.

"I believe he wasn't clear Bilkisu, he meant Haneesa. Or have you forgotten about your daughter in law?" Abba asked sending her a hard glare which didn't go unnoticed by the people present in the living room.

"I don't know any girl with such name Abban Haidar" she said nonchalantly crossing her legs.

Before Ahmaad could talk, Munayarh beat him to it. "Ummah you mean you don't remember the girl you tortured since the day she step foot inside your house?" She gasped.

"Munayarh what are you saying!?" Ummah yelled signaling her with her eyes.

"No Ummah! I won't be part of your game anymore, I have had enough, you did nothing but ruin my life and that of your son. My parents found out about I and Ahmaad's divorce and they blame me now they don't speak to me anymore" she snapped angrily. She was angry at Ummah, at herself for being stupid and at Ummah again for promising her uncountable things when she knew she will never be able to fulfil any of her promises.

"Munayarh.."

"Don't interrupt me when I am talking! I am not done yet.. What do you want from me now? Didn't you say I shouldn't talk to you unless I exchanged my daughter for a son!?" She yelled making little Na'eema startled. She let out a loud shrill and Zubaina was quick to get her from Ahmaad. She walked away with her as tears drip from her face, she couldn't bare hearing all the bad stuffs her mother has done and she was glad for baby Na'eema who saved her from the torture of hearing it all.

"I am done will all this, Ummah I am begging you now, I am literally on my knees; please leave me alone. I am no longer married to your son so I don't want to mingle with your family affairs, besides I am only keeping in touch because of my daughter"

"You have finally shown your true colours Munayarh. I promised you a better life didn't I? Then why don't you believe in me? You ungrateful human being" Ummah yelled disgusted.

"I don't need anything from you, I can cater for myself. If you excuse me I have somewhere to be, I will be back for Na'eema later Insha Allah" she said standing up as she hand over her baby bag to Inbihaj who collected it.

"Shegiya. You bastard! You don't deserve my son let me tell you, they are better women out there, you are no match for him in fact carry your daughter and go we don't want anything to do with you or your blood. Msst" Ummah hissed as Munayarh's figure walk out on her not giving her a hearing ear.

"Subhanalilah! Ummah please that is the mother of my daughter you are talking to" Ahmaad said in shock, it seems like everyday he met his mother he got to see a side of her he has never seen.

"She is no one to this family Ahmadu! And you Inbihaj tell Zubaina to bring that child here, we are getting rid of that pest now. It is either she takes her daughter or we drop her on the road, where she deserves to be.. We can't keep -" she didn't get to finish her blabbering because Abba was right on his feet thundering over her.

"One more word from you Bilkisu and wallahi, I am swearing now, you will no longer be my wife. You are not the woman I married"

"Are you going to do what Allah despises the most Abban Haidar? Divorce!?" She said standing up, when he didn't answer she walk right past him and to the room where she asked Zubaina to hand her Na'eema.

"But Ummah she just fell asleep" Zubaina said scared of the monster before her.

"Zubaina give me that thing now before I disown you" she yelled making her daughter to shed tears.

"Innalilahi wa'ina ilaihi rajiun. Ummah disown you say? Ummah please stop using such words" she cried.

"Then hand that thing over to me this instance"

"But Ummah-" she pushed her out of the way and carried a sleeping Na'eema. Walking hastily down the stairs, she walked against Ahmaad and her husband's pleas.

"Ummah what are you doing!? Bring her back inside!!" Ahmaad yelled trying his best to catch up with his so called mother who was walking helter skelter with the one week old baby.

"Bilkisu you have lost it!! Ya Rabbil Aalameen" Abba exclaimed running after his wife who tripped and fell; everything happened so fast the last thing Ahmaad heard was the voice of his little girl crying her life out.

She was laying on the floor covered in a pool of blood.
