As I walk out of my cabin I find commotion over with the arrival of an Inspector and two other police. The inspector walks towards Sid who walks out of his cabin and wishes him. They speak for a few minutes.

“ one minute sir “  Sid says to him and turns to me.

“ Michelle.. go check our underground store room“

Vennila Pov

As I walk into the temple I find Tamizh standing in front of the goddess. I stop in my tracks and look at her. She dressed in a simple half saree, it was much simpler than mine. She had simple imitation earrings and a chain.My heart squeezed with that fact. I remember how she would be adorned with gold from top to toe. All the clothes she wore once were all valued in thousands. She always looked like an angel from heaven. She had even shared wealth with me when we were in a financially lower state. Her father and mother would buy me everything they bought for her. Even my school fees were paid by her father.

But everything changed with the tragic incident. I could not even imagine that day 10 years ago when my best friend looked like a torn flower. On the day I returned from my vacation from my granny’s house after a month, the first thing I did was to run to Tamizh’s house with the native snacks I bought for her. But I was confused when I could not find her in the house. I quickly ran back to my house and questioned Tamizh’s whereabouts. She hesitates and leads me to the small house where Tamizh and her Grandmother now live. Just like a minute ago my heart squeezed on that day when I found Tamizh laying on the floor with her head on her grandmother’s lap. Her face was swollen with dried tear marks. She looked so lean from the last time I had seen her. As soon as she saw me she started crying, even though i don't know why I cried along with her.

I sigh without knowing when her life will return back to times like we were young. As I stand there wondering about her life she walks towards me.
