Nightmare's one visible eye widened when Echo revealed her name again to him. All of his repressed memories came flooding into his head once more. Tears brimmed the edge of his eye socket, threatening to shed and fall to the ground. He had been looking at the ground for at least two minutes. When he looked back up he found Echo sitting on the ground hugging her legs close to her chest, her forehead resting on her knees while quietly sobbing. "Echo?.... Is it really you?" Nightmare asked quietly. She simply nodded not wanting to make much noise. Guilt rose deep inside of Nightmare. He realized he had hurt his closest and only friend by very much. He looked away from her at the ground unable to bare seeing her crying. Using one of his tentacles he picked Echo up into the air for a second before  setting her in his lap. "N-Nightmare? W-what are you doing?" Echo asked shakily. He carefully wrapped his arms around her in a hug as an answer. She hugged back still crying her hurting sould out. "I'm so sorry I forgot, I thought you hated me and that's why you left... the memories just made it worse so I tried to forget... I wish I had never forgotten. And now I've just hurt you more, can you ever forgive a fool like me?" Nightmare explained attempting to contain his sobs. She nodded before replying. "Of course I forgive you Nightmare, you're my friend! Also, You can't break what's already broken." Nightmare smiled and nodded. "I suppose you're right." He looked down at Echo whom was starting to drift into a much needed slumber. "Rest well, my Echo Flower." He whispered to her.
