~10 years later~

Nightmare sat under the Tree of Feelings, reading the exact same book he was reading when Echo interrupted him. Nightmare had already eaten the apple and gotten corrupted, his little sister went missing not long after he went corrupted. Dream was just about the same, She and Ink had gotten married a bit before Nightmare went corrupted. Now you might you be wondering where Echo wandered off to? She had stopped showing up to the tree mysteriously a few months before Nightmare corrupted himself. The evening Nightmare went corrupted, Echo had shown up for a few seconds before running off crying. While Nightmare had his face shoved in the pages of his book, a rather familiar voice spoke in front of his face. "Hiya! You're Nightmare, and it's nice to meet you!" Nightmare peeked up from the edge of his book. The voice belonged to a female skeleton who dangled from a branch, the only thing keeping her from falling her legs hung on a branch. However this female skeleton was Echo, Nightmare purposely forgot about her after she left, the memories of her hurting his soul to much. "Um.. hello?" Nightmare asked/greeted. "Who are you?" Nightmare asked again still befuddled. "You... you don't remember me?..." Echo sadly responded to Nightmare. "No..." Nightmare picked up a leaf and placed it in between the pages he was reading.  "It's me... Echo, I was your best friend... that's the same book you were reading when I first introduced myself... " She responded her usually cheery tone gone.
