Roark's POV 🪨

When spring time rolled around and the cherry blossoms were blooming, that's when y/n returned....

At first, she was completely unrecognizable.

Rumored to be the mysterious, kimono girl warrior with rainbow butterfly wings, completely made out of aura and showing on her back, before they disappeared.

"That girl...Is that the champion?!"

"Wow! She looks so pretty and different than before! Stronger too!"

"So, she's the mysterious kimono girl with rainbow colored butterfly wings that everyone's been talking about?!"

"Is that a sword or a katana on her hip? What's she doing with it and where did she get it?"

I didn't even notice until a bunch of people were looking at the direction, where the entrance of Oreburgh City is.

When y/n saw me, that's when she smiled.

"Roarkie, I'm back!" I heard her say after I turned around to look, seeing her coming to me while giggling happily.

I was never expecting a change from her looks and clothes.

She looked like a completely different person!

A little bit taller and with longer hair, but she looks stronger and prettier, just like that one citizen was gossiping about.

Pulling me into a tight hug, my face immediately turned redder than my hair.

"Oh, I missed you for so long, even though it has only been by a year!" She says as she rubbed her head against my chest.

"Did you take good care of and evolved your Rockruff, that I gave you as a gift, while I was gone?"

"Y-Y/n! W-We're in public!" I could only utter out.

However, my mind was screaming "DAMN, SHE'S CUTE!" as I was looking at her.

"Aww, okay..." Y/n went as she pouted.

I could only sweat drop a little and give her a head pat in response.

Right on cue, my Lycanroc came into the scene next.

"Oh! Looks like you successfully evolved him into a Midday Lycanroc!" Y/n says as she smiled before parting the hug and giving him a head pat.

"Midday Lycanroc?" I went, feeling a little confused.

"Yeah! In Alola Region, there are three forms your Rockruff can take, once it evolves into a Lycanroc! But, it depends on the time of day when it evolves.

If your Rockruff evolves at night, it evolves into the form of a Midnight Lycanroc. During the day, it's a Midday Lycanroc. And when evolving at dusk, it becomes a Dusk Lycanroc." Y/n explained to me, since she knows I've never heard of, or even been to Alola Region before.

"So, it's kinda like how a Shellos would evolve but different?" I went.

"Yeah! It's a lot like that!" Y/n says as she smiled and nodded her head.

In response, my Lycanroc yipped a little in agreement.

"I wonder what the Dusk and Midnight Lycanrocs look like?" I said, obviously thinking aloud.

In response, y/n showed me a picture, giving me a better visual on what they look like.

"Cool! Which one did you get?" I asked as I looked at y/n, knowing she has 2 evolved Rockruffs.

"I got Dusk and Midnight." She answered simply. "The dusk Lycanrocs are pretty rare, so, I was a little surprised when my first one took the Dusk form."

I nodded in response, showing I was understanding and listening.

For only a few seconds, we were both lost into each other's eyes, until I heard the sound of a girl I didn't recognize.

"Hey, Roark~!" A random girl says as she came over.

But, before she could get any closer to me, that's when a katana blade suddenly got between me and the girl, making the both of us freeze.

Looking over, I noticed y/n was the one who drew out her katana, a scary look on her face showing, before she calmly walked between us and made the girl back away a little, by pointing the katana at her.

In response to the girl's actions, my Lycanroc growled at her, pretty much on y/n's side too.

"Roark doesn't have any time for autographs and being touched." Y/n says as she had an eerie smile on her face.

"His hair is sticky. I don't think you'd want to touch it."

"But - !" The girl began to say.

"But, what? Not going to finish your sentence? If you really did want an autograph from Roark, you would've already had something with you...Isn't that right?" Y/n interrupted her, as she giggled psychotically a little.

"In all truth and reality, you just wanted to try interfering, so you'd take him away from me...

Come anywhere near him, or even dare lay a hand on a single strand of his hair, and I will never let you see the light of day again...."

Then y/n withdrew and sheathed her katana away before smiling like nothing had happened, just now.

"Okay?" Y/n finished as she gave the girl a sickly sweet smile.

Quickly nodding her head in understanding, the girl immediately ran off and out of the city, having no hesitation in running away.

I could only stand there as I felt my heart racing and pounding hard in my chest, before I felt y/n pulling me close to her.

"C'mon...I have much to talk to you about. You're done with your daily mining today, right?" Y/n replies as she looked at me.

"Y-Yeah...That's actually what I was doing." I answered nervously.

Smiling and giggling in return, y/n held my hand, shortly after I returned my pokémon to their pokéballs, before we headed to my house.

Just as we were about to leave a few seconds ago, I heard one of the people gossip, mentioning that y/n's gotten more scarier too since her return today.

When we made it and went in my house, I sighed a little and went upstairs to clean myself off from the dirt, grabbing a clean pair of lounge clothes as I did so.

Once I was cleaned up and in my lounge clothes, I stepped out of the bathroom and found y/n out of her kimono and in her lounge clothes too.

"Looks like you were thinking the same thing, huh?" I went as I sat down next to her before looking at her.

"Yeah..." She replied, before resting her head on me.

I smiled as I did the same in return.
