A line appeared between her brows as she stared surprisingly at Zahra, who was busy chewing gum. They were done with their lectures and resting on the bench outside before departing to their various houses.

"My heard is aching and I'm hungry but you're here eating chewing gum, ain't you tired?"Hidaya finally asked after staring at Zahra non stop, and seeing that she isn't ready to quit taking it she had to ask.

"Believe me, I'm also hungry. I had to look for something to chew on."Zahra answered back and Hidaya rolled her eyes heavenwards.

"And the best thing you could find was chewing gum, I wonder when I'll ever be able to understand you. Sometimes you don't use your brain well."Hidaya deadpanned shaking her head at Zahra who just shrugged it off as it was nothing and kept on chewing her gum.

Doesn't it make her hungry ?

"I use my brain for important things."Zahra retorted and smacked Hidaya with her purse for calling her dumb, indirectly.

"You didn't tell me what happened earlier back at home?"Zahra questioned handing Hidaya a chewing gum. Zahra noticed the sudden change of demeanor in her face, she thought it was because of the chewing gum so she kept it aside.

"We have been given a one month notice to leave our house."Hidaya declared. Zahra gasped and furrowed her brows at Hidaya, needing more information 'As to why they were given a one month notice'

"Abba loaned 50 million since the last 8 years and refused to pay off, so they're taking all his asset that are worth the money he loaned. Even after taking our house, we will have to give them 45 million."Hidaya clarified. Zahra kept on nodding her head as if thinking of a solution but there were only thousands of questions running around her brain.

"What are you going to do ?"Zahra inquired staring earnestly at Hidaya.

"I've no idea."Hidaya replied, downheartedly her eyes glued to the ground.

"I'll talk to my father and see if he can be of any help."Zahra offered.

"No, Zahra you don't have to, I don't want to burden you with my problems."Hidaya rejected her offer nicely.

"Burden ?"Zahra rolled her eyes. "You're my best friend, my ride or die, and I will surely help you out, don't even think of stopping me."Zahra warned pointing her index finger at Hidaya playfully.

Hidaya managed to force a smile and said. "You don't have to worry Zahra, we'll find a way for sure."Hidaya tried to convince Zahra but she isn't getting.

Zahra shook her head continuously at her. "If you see me as your best friend then you'll have to agree with me and not argue."

Hidaya heaved a long exasperated sigh. Zahra is something else wallah. "Okay, I won't argue with you any further, my lord."Hidaya joked and Zahra laughed clutching her stomach.

"I can't wait already, we've only two years left. Yeeeeeeeee."Zahra squealed shutting her eyes a little as if living the moment of their graduation.

"I know, right."Hidaya joined in before taking a look at her phone screen to check the time, she gasped immediately and stood up. "5:23?"

"And Ya Muneer is still not here."Zahra chimed in shaking her head. Hidaya was talking about how she is going to get a motorcycle ride at this hour when all the Federal College of Education students are closing at the same time.

Hidaya gave her the 'I'm damn serious look' to which she rose a brow at and said;

"What? Why are you giving me that look?"Zahra asked nonchalantly. "Oh."Zahra added. From the way the 'oh' slipped out of her tongue, Hidaya knew that she is going to tease her.

"Is it because I mentioned Ya Muneer's name ?"Zahra teased wiggling her brows at Hidaya.

Ya Muneer is Zahra's eldest brother, he is 29, young, handsome and dashing. Who wouldn't crush on him ?

And he is Hidaya's one and only crush, she always find herself speechless in front of him. Like they say; he renders her speechless.

"No, that's not it. I told mom I'll be home by 4 and now...."

Zahra cut her off. "Shush!"She shushed her up, flinging her tiny wrist in the air. "Ya Muneer will take you home, no worries."

Hidaya rolled her eyes, sighed before sitting down beside Zahra. "Don't you get it?"Zahra shook her head.

"I'm afraid if you leave me alone with him in the car, I might just spew out my feelings for him, you see that's the problem. You won't understand the kind of effect your brother has on me, that too unknowingly."

Zahra shook her head, trying so hard not to laugh at Hidaya. "And what's wrong with that ? At least he will know about how much you love him."

"What ? no way! And mind you, I don't love him and I just have a crush on him, Azin I like him not love-love him."Hidaya explained and Zahra was just staring at her amusingly afraid that anytime from now she won't be able to hold back her laughter.

"You'll be a great wife to my brother, a lovely daughter-in-law to my mother, and also a good sister-in-law to me."Zahra teased and just a look at Hidaya she burst out laughing.

"You're not a good friend, why does your brother have to be so handsome."Hidaya squalled making Zahra to laugh at her again.

"I'll get going now, see you tomorrow."Hidaya stood up and started walking out of their faculty. Zahra ran up to her and together they walked to the main gate.

"Ya Muneer is here."Zahra pointed at the white Mercedes-Maybach GLS which was soon parked in front of them, a teasing smile appearing at the end of her lips.

This is it !

No matter how much of a talkative Hidaya is, when she is in his presence she hardly talk.

Muneer strolled towards them like he owned the place, and Hidaya despised him because he made her feel weak. He looked around him, and their eyes meet for a moment.

Hidaya blushed, and was infuriated. His lips curled into a smile. "You're already out."Muneer asked referring to Zahra. Hidaya was lost in her own world as she was publicly gawking at him.

Zahra nudged her shoulder and cleared her throat before turning to her brother. "Yes, you are very late Ya Muneer, that's so unlike you."Zahra teased trying to make the atmosphere less awkward for Hidaya.

"Zahra, I'll get going."Hidaya whispered clutching the hand of her bag tightly as she started walking off but before Zahra could say anything she tripped over a stone and was about to fall but luckily for her Muneer caught her in his arms.

Awkward !

Hidaya shut her eyes tightly waiting for herself to hit the ground so she could carry her embarrassed self up and leave but none of that happened, instead she felt his lemony cologne scent all over her body.

Slowly, she opened her eyes and looked at her left hand which fitted so perfectly in his soft ones. She whipped her head up at him, and stared at his dark brown eyes, she got lost in them.

Muneer cleared his throat and she quickly get out of his hold, her head down, hiding her blush.

I like Muneer already 🥺
