Chapter 5
My breath hitch as I try to make out what my eyes are seeing. I felt the tremble of my body, my mind went all over the place as the figure stand stilled, unmoving. It sent a wave of shivers through my body, I blink twice feeling the weight fell to the ground.
It frozed unable to make a sound or sense, it was midnight my mind is making up the wonders of nightmares. I shuffle until my back met with the wall, I unconsciously tip over the side with a vase. I watch in slow motion as the vase began to fall but then it didn't hit the floor, I held my breath as I realize how close the shadowy figure had move. In its grasp the vase, I looked towards the silhouette of the figure already feeling its eyes on me. It stood just a foot away, I watch as it place the vase on the table but time felt to have stopped as it swiftly came directly before me close enough to feel its bodily chills.
I stayed still unable to move as I felt my neck being smelled I saw it shiver. Fear consume me knowing fully I am wide awake feeling the lingering eyes of possessiveness. It backed away looking in my eyes but strangely I didn't see any eyes staring at me just the darkness. My breath hitched once again as the dark glow began to move, the frightening eye colors staring at me. Its right eye was ash grey while the left is an ocean blue.
"who are you", before I know it the words pass my lips as air. It only stared unblinking as if searching my very soul. I felt nervous under its intense gaze but before I could say anything it disappeared within a blink.
I felt the intense pressure of air rushing in my lungs I couldn't comprehend what just happened. My limbs could finally move, I place my hand on my chest squeezing as if it could calm me down but no, I drew my knees up to my chest. No tears seems to want out just that settling fear of the unknown.
I couldn't process. Sitting on the floor staring at my feet. It started to light out only then I choose to move. Taking slow steps but each step felt weaker than the first, I know I had to forget about it but it was useless strange things as been happening ignoring it would only plague my mind.
A door lock clicked as if opening, immediately I rush to my room not wanting to face Frank right now. Shakily I close the door softly locking the lock, I press myself on the door grasping my chest tighter.
"Snap out of it Lola Pattem" I whispered yelled squeezing my hand tightly. It didn't help but I had to push it aside afterall I had work, all the craziness could wait.
"It was just my imagination" I reassure myself
"f**k it felt so real" I cursed taking a deep breather pushing myself from the door.

Work was maddening, I couldn't stop looking over my shoulder but eventually I stopped before I was marked as crazy. I told myself it wasn't real yet it felt real but after that I didn't see again for the past couple of weeks the memory of that night began to be just a dream.
Magically it felt like a dream the more I think about it.
"Hey Lola got a task for you to do" Evan said with his head down in files "Yeah what sup" I glance at him from the computer finishing the remaining construction finalize plan to be sent back to headquarters.
"need you to bring these files to the big boss" I was almost shock and somewhat scared, all my time working here I've never seen the famous CEO of JWN Enterprise.
"I can't go something came up that I urgently need to get to", I nodded in understanding, he placed the files in his briefcase as he nodded taking his leave. I waved at his departing as I concluded what is remained of my tasks.
I released an exhausted sigh, lazily stretching as my eyes caught the flies. I had to deliver them by the end of work, luckily I was finished with all. I looked at the files seeing that the address and access number were neatly written and placed with a sticky note. Packing my bag making sure to place the files in before taking the note off. I made my way out of the building seeing that the streets were bustling with persons either making their way home.
I looked back at the address hailing a taxi for the 30 minute drive to the other side of town. Apparently the roads had a lot of traffic, it was soon nightfall before I reached the apartment complex.
It was an utterly huge building with about 100 or more floors. I stopped gawking at the interior of the building. I waste no more time take a breather as I made my way to the elevator, the front desk person didn't asked much for my visit.
It was likely for he was used to it.
I entered the floor number making sure to double check the 100th floor. If I wasn't afraid of heights now I was, the elevator came to a stop floor, my heartbeat inscrese in beats as I felt nervous. Stepping out I took a minute to admire the beauty of the whole floor, it was the penthouse suite. The hall could take my breath and I wouldn't have a problem, I felt out of place at how luxurious it is. I start to scurry the long hall with only a door in sight. I read the note once again entering the passcode, Evan put a warning to only 'enter and make no noise' I folded the small note placing it in my pants pocket before opening the door.
I followed the instructions finding it very strange, how would a person feel for a random stranger to just enter unannounced.
"Okay" I breathed
The room wasn't what I was expecting the barely lit room looks almost empty, not something I would expect from a high class building. The dark interior matched the dark folds of the room. I stood by the door staring shocked at the bareness of the room. I walked slowly not sure if I wanted to go in any further, the sudden click of the door closing caught my heart.
"That scared me" I spoke but suddenly a gush of wind came, in an unpleasant sense I felt uncomfortable. I hastily placed the file on the table by the outskirts of what looks likes a office in the middle of the room. I felt as if I was being watched, the shivers crawl on my spine the urge of wanting to get out was unbareable.
No one was around it was like a red flag how would a person feel of a stranger being in their space. I turned to walk straight to the door that's when my eyes caught a figure on the couch. I gasped over come with shock, my back brace on the wall, it took me a minute to fully see if I was seeing right.
He laid with his head over the edge of the couch as his feet place upward, it was an unusual position. His hair laid flowing freely to the ground as his eyes were closed a book on his chest. I rubbed my hands together moving from the wall, it was stupid of me to be scared so easily. I attempted to walk nearing the door but I was uneasy that feeling of being watch came back. I cautiously looked around my eyes casting on the figure, he laid there still unmoving but this time his eyes were wide open taking me by surprise.
I backed away slowly, not sure what to do. The door was near but it wouldn't open, I glanced back at him but now he was now standing looking straight at me the curiosity playing in his eyes.
