Chapter 1
"Hey Frank, my dude no hard feelings but this is where you lose" Lola shouted from across the table pure range of challenge dripping from her lips, Frank had the most stupidest grin display on his, one she wish to get tired of.
"challenge accepted milady" he playfully bow with a wink he stood up with the most challenging look in his eyes she had only seen on random occasions but nothing she couldn't seek to take serious.
'Don't make me laugh' her mind rang teasing if even.
The unholy grounds of the casino had to call them tonight after all a birthday wouldn't be a birthday without the raw passion of gambling, her fellow ex she had to go back to.
She held the dice tightly in her palm, shaking it to a rhythm of what she was used to, with a knowing smirk on her lips she didn't entertain the thoughts of losing tonight even if it's his birthday.
"Roll the dice already, your making the crowd sleep" a glint in his eyes knowing fully well she doesn't like to lose, especially to Frank's teasing. She shock Frank by laughing a belly full one of sarcasm.
She answered to the crowd giving them what they wanted. The table became silent as the fifth time that night "come on mama needs a new vibrator" all head turn to her she pictured a dumbfounded looking on the faces that surrounds her but she only smirk as she release the dice.
"F**k yeah" she shouted as the cheers sounded, some groan either losing a bet. She smiles like a kid that just got approved for candy teasing Frank some more as she gracefully slide the chips to her.
"That's my girl take a bow", Frank embarrassingly said as he praised her playfully knowing he's drunk off his ass, she wince at the headache he'll have to endure, just thinking about it gave her goosebumps.
She took up the money on the table making her way towards the door " I'll take my leave ladies and gents, it's been good", she said with a wave to the now pack table, persons were begging her to stay even going as far as offering money.
She love the energy but she had to focus on other important matters, a drunk Frank. She knew this big lump is drunk off his ass. He was already picking wine glasses from the passing trays.
Shaking her head she held a firm grip on his arm "now frankie isn't that enough for tonight" she said sweetly, taking the glasses out his hold places them on a nearby table "who said it had to end, Lola your no fun" he whined slurring his words fighting out of her hold, a act of a child indeed.
"Now now since you forgot to walk I'll help you" She reverted knowing she couldn't stand the looks they were getting each step was a struggle, for he stumble and nagging non-stop nonsense in her ear.
Finally reach the outside, they stood in the front waiting on Frank's car " Lola I'm not drunk at all, all I need is a drink" he slurs over his words smiling at her personal enjoyment of his drunken state "If you want a major headache in the morning I suggest no" he frowns his cute expression almost making her submit, almost she pulled his ass in his car as she spot it coming, not batting a eye at the valet as she said thank you.
The way home was peaceful, with Frank knock out she finally let everything settle in. A quiet night the neighborhood being silent as ever, it would consider civil if it wasn't for the poor economy downgrade. Other than that the apartments were in good conditions Lola was okay and grateful to even have a home. She look to see if Frank was okay, a small smile make its way to her lips.
Pushing the front door open wasn't easy to begin with. Lola struggles with pulling Frank in the house slightly balancing his weight on hers. "What in the heavens did you eat" she huffs as she made way up the stairs
"up you go, be careful," she said climbing the step one step at a time, the be careful was for her if she trips once on the stairs, it would be the death of us.
"t.thank yo..u Lola, best night ever," he said slurring over his words, still in a sleep state he cheered bringing his fists up punching the air.
"hey, hey easy your weight isn't light you know," she said annoyance dripping from each word but she acknowledges his words "you deserve it old man" she mentions knowing he wouldn't remember anything in the morning, so killing her for that word was out of the question.
Few minutes later she was a heaving mess as she gently tucks Frank in.
Today was the celebration of his 33 birthday she's glad it was a sucess he's happy and she's happy sadly no one will see this happiness only this lovable bastard.
Stopping at the door she turned givng him a once over, Feeling proud of herself at that moment, knowing she did a good job to surprise Frank left glee in her tummy.
It wouldn't take a genius to know how often they did this, but each time got worse by the days.
The door closes softly behind not wanting to wake the already sleeping man. Lola had done her task it's only right she went into dream land too.
She tip toed down the hall fearing any noises she made will wake the house. Reaching her door she stopped having a strange feeling as the goosebumps evade her skin.
She look around curiously taking in the dark hall but nothing in sight. Then what was this feeling 'strange' she whispered.
With another look around she enterd her room, soon after the strange feeling completely vanish.
