Princess Freen POV

Omega princess Freen of Gaelle stepped through the gates of the Kingdom of Lumina, the gentle breeze carrying the scent of blooming roses as she walked up to the castle. Lumina, with its own sense of beauty, held a certain warmth and history that the kingdom was known for. It was the commencement of Lumina's month-long festival, and Princess Freen wasn't particularly excited about the event, especially with its primary purpose of getting to know the alpha princess, Princess Rebecca. Her parents had insisted on her attendance, but she didn't pay much attention to the intricacies of the royal guests and their roles. Instead, she reveled in hopes of the lively atmosphere of the festival that it would bring, where she could immerse herself in the music, food, and dance.

Upon her arrival to the gala, Princess Rebecca had extended a gracious welcome. Rebecca's poised demeanor was immediately apparent, an aura of regality that concealed her true emotions. Freen observed Rebecca's gestures, the grace in her movements, and the way she would politely smile back at her guests. However, Freen quickly grew disinterested with Rebecca's typical behavior. The polished facade Rebecca maintained, with her polite smiles and perfected gestures, felt rehearsed and distant.

Despite Rebecca's somewhat warm and inviting nature that she tried to portray, Freen couldn't help but feel a sense of detachment in her interactions. It seemed as though Rebecca was playing a part, hiding her true self behind a mask of royal decorum and there was an invisible barrier that hindered Freen from understanding the real person behind Lumina's poised princess.

It wasn't until the revelation of Princess Rebecca's status as an omega that Freen found herself taken aback. The revelation of Rebecca's omega status came as a complete surprise, not just to Freen but to everyone present. Whispers and gasps surrounded her as the realization dawned upon the guests. Princess Rebecca, the poised and regal alpha, was not who she seemed to be and the knowledge of Rebecca's omega identity shifted Freen's perspective entirely. Suddenly, the carefully crafted facade of royal decorum made sense.

When the realization settled, Freen's initial disinterest turned into a mix of curiosity and empathy. She began to reconsider Rebecca's actions, realizing that the barriers she sensed might have been protective walls rather than calculated distance. Rebecca had built such a meticulously constructed facade that Freen couldn't have even perceived before that Rebecca could have been an omega. And Freen couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt for hastily judging Rebecca without truly getting to know her.

As an omega heir herself, she understood all too well the weight of expectations that came with their shared roles. Freen had experienced firsthand the pressures and assumptions that came with being an omega in a position of power. So she understood why Rebecca might have kept her status hidden. However, this unexpected revelation intrigued Freen, making her want to understand Princess Rebecca beyond the surface.

The gala had fallen into a momentary hush, quiet except for whispers exchanged amongst the attendees. Freen noticed a shift in their demeanor, some glancing between themselves with widened eyes and murmuring in hushed tones. As the murmurs spread among the guests, Freen's gaze shifted towards Princess Rebecca, catching the subtle shift in Rebecca's demeanor – the slight furrow of her brow and the glistening of her eyes. She saw Rebecca's eyes darting briefly around the room, scanning the reactions of those present as if to gauge the varying reactions.

Their eyes met briefly, and in that fleeting moment, Freen caught a glimpse of emotion in Rebecca's gaze as she scanned the room. However, before any tears could fall, she quickly composed herself, concealing any hint of tears, maintaining her poise. Freen's heart tugged slightly at the sight. Yet, Freen quickly quelled it aside, rationalizing that it was merely her feeling sorry for Rebecca for what she is going through at the moment.

Gradually, the initial shock from the reveal disappeared and soon the music filled the air once more, drawing guests back into the ballroom floor. Freen found herself approached by several heirs requesting a dance. Despite her seemingly distant aura, Freen's cold yet captivating beauty often intrigued others, enticing heirs to approach her, seeking her attention.

More often than not, it was the younger heirs who had the courage to approach her, emboldened by their curiosity and youthful enthusiasm. They couldn't resist the allure of Freen's demeanor, captivated by the subtle elegance she exuded. The air of mystery surrounding her seemed to beckon them, drawing these younger heirs to request a dance with the omega princess.

Although initially hesitant, Freen couldn't help but be drawn to the dance floor. Her love for dancing outweighed her reservations, and she accepted the invitations graciously. She found herself gliding through the dance floor, gracefully moving to the rhythm of the music, engaging in light conversation with the heirs who had sought her company.

Despite her growing curiosity and newfound understanding she harbored for Princess Rebecca, she couldn't find it in herself to form deeper feelings or interest that would prompt her to seek Rebecca out to get to know her better. While her parents' intentions were clear —to encourage a relationship between her and Rebecca in hopes for Freen to settle down —Freen's primary purpose for being at Lumina extended beyond courtship. Freen was here for the festivity, the lively music that echoed through the halls, the colorful array of foods, and the ambiance of the festival mood.

Thus, she decided to set aside her musings about Rebecca for the time being. Freen allowed herself to be swept away by the dance, losing herself in the music that surrounded her.

----------------------

Eventually, Freen grew tired. Her feet throbbed with a dull ache and her breaths grew a little short from the dancing. Craving a moment of respite, she politely excused herself, claiming a wine glass and quietly slipped away from the ballroom.

Stepping out into the palace gardens, Freen was greeted by the cool night air. It was such a soothing relief on her warm skin and flushed cheeks. Freen took a slow, deep breath, letting the crisp air fill her lungs and calm her thumping heart, the excitement from the dancing gradually subsiding.

She leaned against the palace walls and closed her eyes, bringing the wine glass closer. The wine's aroma, a blend of sweet berries and subtle spices, teased her senses and with a soft hum of satisfaction, she took the first sip, savoring its rich flavor. Freen couldn't hold back a satisfied sigh as she opened her eyes enjoying her drink and the quiet cold air.

After indulging in the last sip, she handed the empty glass to one of the palace servers who was making his rounds outside, flashing a polite smile as she did so. Freen didn't want to go back in just yet so she strolled along the stone pathways, the distant echoes of the music from the palace ballroom lingered in the air, creating a faint but comforting ambiance around her. With each step, Freen felt the tension ease from her tired muscles.

As she wandered further, to her surprise, she found Rebecca, standing alone amongst a bed of roses. Rebecca seemed lost in thought, her gaze fixed on the roses in front of her. For a moment, Freen hesitated, unsure whether she should approach her. Yet, she somehow did not want Rebecca to be alone.

And so without a second thought, Freen made her way towards Rebecca, the crunch of gravel underfoot breaking the night's silence. As she neared, Rebecca glanced up, startled by Freen's unexpected presence. Freen offered a soft smile and they both exchanged polite greetings before a comfortable silence settled between them.

However after a few minutes, Freen couldn't stand the silence and the polite conversations. So, she broke the silence and asked Rebecca why she was out here instead of enjoying herself inside. And when Rebecca confessed that she needed to step away to process everything that had happened tonight, Freen felt a huge wave of concern wash over her when she saw how troubled Rebecca looked.

Despite Freen's initial curiosity about Rebecca, seeing Rebecca's unease made her heart ache. All Freen wanted to do was to comfort Rebecca, to wrap her in a hug, and tell her that everything will be alright and will eventually fall into place. But she refrained herself, sensing that Rebecca would not be comfortable. Instead, she offered a reassuring smile, hoping that Rebecca would understand her silent offer of support.

"Remember, your feelings are valid," Freen said softly. "Not everyone can adjust to surprises quickly. Sometimes it takes time for their perceptions to change... And as for your close friends that have now not accepted you... well, I think some might still be your friends. I think that they are just having a hard time wrapping their head around you being an omega now because they always thought you of being an alpha. Their perceptions of an omega/alpha character might be causing them to struggle with this change but I'm sure that once your friends realize that you remain the same person despite your omega status, they will realize that they were wrong and will want to remain your friend."

And when Freen said those words, Rebecca seemed to be taken aback. It was as if Rebecca couldn't fathom that Freen would acknowledge and validate her feelings, instead, she thought that Freen would brush her feelings aside.

Seeing this, Freen couldn't help but question if this has been how Rebecca had been treated throughout her life... with no one to support her and actually be there for her. The mere thought saddened Freen deeply. To imagine Rebecca concealing her struggles behind a facade of poise and grace struck a chord within Freen's heart and she couldn't help but have a soft spot for Rebecca.

Surprisingly, their conversation flowed naturally after that heartfelt exchange. They talked about trivial things, shared a few laughs, and engaged in lighter discussions. But as the night wore on, Rebecca had to cut their conversation short to carry on her duties as host.

She hoped that their conversation had given Rebecca some comfort and it seemed to have done just that with Rebecca demeanor appearing less tense and her smile seeming more relaxed. With a content smile, Freen watched Rebecca a little longer before she headed back towards the ballroom to end the night doing what she loved the most — dancing.

----------------------

After the gala's end, Freen returned to her chambers worn out. Amelia, her handmaiden, was already waiting, ready to assist Freen in helping her slip out of her ballgown.

"Good evening, princess," greeted Amelia with a warm smile, noticing Freen's fatigue, yet also the lingering glow of contentment on her face.

"Good evening, Amelia," Freen responded with a soft smile, grateful for her handmaiden's presence. "I must say, I am quite exhausted tonight."

"Understandably so, princess The gala lasted quite long," Amelia acknowledged, guiding Freen to a plush chair. "Shall I prepare a warm bath for you? It might help relax your muscles after a night of dancing."

Freen nodded, appreciating the thought. "That would be wonderful, Amelia. Thank you."

As Amelia prepared the bath, adding fragrant oils to create a soothing atmosphere, Freen changed into more comfortable attire. Once the bath was ready, Freen gratefully settled into the warm water with a sigh of relief, her muscles relaxing as she leaned back in the tub. She let the calming atmosphere wash over her, allowing her thoughts to drift back to the gala and her talk with Rebecca.

Her mind replayed the moments she'd shared with Rebecca—a fleeting exchange of smiles, the hint of sadness behind Rebecca's eyes that contradicted her regal facade. There was something beneath Rebecca's composed exterior that intrigued Freen—a hidden depth yearning to break free.

"Princess?," Amelia spoke softly, breaking her reverie, "You've been lost in thought since you came back from the gala. Is something amiss?"

Princess Freen offered a faint smile to Amelia. "No, not amiss, just... thinking is all."

"About Princess Rebecca?" Amelia asked. "I did not know she was an omega."

"Hmmmm... I didn't know either. But I guess we never asked so we can't blame it on her. We all just assumed what she was instead of getting to know her better," Freen reflected, her gaze momentarily distant.

Amelia nodded sympathetically. "I cannot imagine how Princess Rebecca handled everything today, especially in the public eye."

Freen's expression softened as she recalled Rebecca's demeanor at the gala. "It seemed to affect her more than she let on. She looked troubled, though she tried to mask it."

"Did you have a chance to talk to Princess Rebecca? How was she?" Amelia asked gently, her voice tinged with curiosity.

"Rebecca?" Freen asked with one of her brows raised. "We had a brief conversation. She was quite pleasant to talk with, but she seemed troubled... Understandably so, given the circumstances."

Amelia regarded Freen with sympathy. "It must have been overwhelming for her."

"It was," Freen admitted, a hint of concern in her voice. "But I think she is upholding herself well."

"I don't want to assume," Freen continued, "but I think Rebecca hasn't had the chance to truly be herself yet... She appears to be so consumed by the expectations of her future role as Queen and meeting everyone's expectations that I wonder if she's ever had the chance to reveal her true self.... But I also think that she is a little unsure of herself right now, figuring out how to present herself when all eyes are on her. She seems to be suppressing her emotions quite a lot."

"...And she is probably so used to acting a certain way, while keeping everyone at arm's length, that she doesn't realize that she is just creating a facade for herself.... But nonetheless, from the brief conversation I had with Rebecca, she appears to be a wonderful person. She seems to be someone who selflessly prioritizes others' happiness over her own. So I feel sorry for her that she doesn't seem to value herself more. I wish she could see how wonderful of a person she is, both inside and out."

Amelia listened intently, nodding in understanding as she washed Freen's hair. "It's a lot of weight on her shoulders," she remarked sympathetically.

Freen sighed softly. "Yes, it is. I hope she finds her footing soon, and realizes her own worth."

With a thoughtful expression, Amelia replied, "Given time, she might. She just needs the right people near her to help show her how wonderful she is."

"Hmmm, yes," Freen murmured. "Sometimes, all it takes is having the right people by your side to make you see your own value. I truly hope Rebecca finds that support."

Freen leaned back, letting Amelia continue her care and the two women shared a short silence before Amelia gently changed the subject, speaking of lighter matters to lift the mood. Freen welcomed the change, grateful for the diversion after the conversation they had.

Once Freen had finished her bath and refreshed herself, Amelia assisted her in donning a comfortable nightgown, ensuring Freen was comfortable before she retired to bed.

"Thank you, Amelia. You may retire for the night," Freen said appreciatively, slipping under the covers.

"Of course, Princess. Rest well," replied Amelia, bowing slightly before leaving Freen to her night's rest.

---------------------------

The following day Freen's paths didn't seem to cross with Princess Rebecca, however, the day after, Princess Rebecca was holding individual meetings with each of the heirs to discuss the upcoming festival. Freen was anticipating their meeting to get to know Rebecca more without interruptions. She couldn't help but wonder if they would have another moment together just like what had happened at the gala.

As Freen entered the chamber, she carried with her a sense of anticipation and intrigue. Rebecca greeted her with a warm, shy smile. It was a sight that melted Freen's heart, and she couldn't help but return her smile with a graceful nod. Freen was worried that Rebecca would be back to her poised facade but she felt happy and relieved that Rebecca wasn't putting up her usual front. Instead, Rebecca seemed genuinely open, her warmth radiating towards her as she entered the room.

Settling into the chair across from Rebecca, Freen listened attentively, her eyes holding genuine curiosity and interest. Her question regarding the gala brought forth a flood of memories. Freen had reveled in the joy of dancing, the music's rhythms guiding her steps through the night. The gala had been a delightful experience, one that had allowed her to indulge in her love for dancing. And so, she told Rebecca exactly that. That she loved dancing so she might have indulged a bit too much in dancing at the gala.

When the topic of planning dates for the festival arose, Freen's lips curved into a serene smile. The prospect of going on a date with Rebecca without any interruptions from other heirs, made her heart skip a beat with excitement. Rebecca's shyness when she broached the topic was endearing, and Freen couldn't help but lean in. Her curiosity got the better of her, and she inquired about her preferences.

Rebecca's admission that she was eagerly anticipating one particular date didn't go unnoticed by Freen. The playful hint of Rebecca's true feelings added a layer of intimacy to their conversation, and Freen's own curiosity was piqued. The fact that Rebecca had singled out their date as the one she looked forward to the most bought a flutter of warmth to her chest. It was as though they were exploring an uncharted territory together.

While they were subtly flirting with each other, Rebecca remained unaware that she was unwittingly emitting her pheromones, a delicate hint of roses. Freen could sense it immediately when it was released and it captivated Freen's senses in a way she hadn't experienced before. The scent was so pleasant that Freen couldn't help but like it.

However, as Rebecca began discussing the tradition of spending a night alone, Freen saw the shift in Rebecca's demeanor—the way her fingers toyed with the fabric of her gown and the faint blush that adorned her cheeks. She saw the nervousness that lingered beneath Rebecca's composed exterior, and a sense of empathy and understanding washed over her. Rebecca's voice, while steady, carried a trace of vulnerability as she explained the tradition.

Freen recognized the significance of the tradition and the intimacy it implied, and her own demeanor shifted to a slight flustered curiosity. The tradition of spending a night with Rebecca to see if their scents intermingled was not one that she was familiar with in her own kingdom. The prospect of spending such a night with each other was both exhilarating and daunting, but Freen knew that this tradition was to happen later on. Therefore, she didn't have to worry about it at that very moment. Instead, she focused on the here and now, cherishing the conversation they were sharing.

As their conversation continued, it became apparent that Rebecca's nerves were starting to overwhelm her. Freen could sense it not just from the trembling of Rebecca's hands but also in the increasingly intense fragrance of roses that filled the air around them. And when Rebecca's nerves became too much, Freen instinctively released her own pheromones—hoping it would help calm Rebecca. The scent carried a subtle whisper of reassurance, a reminder that Freen was there, empathizing with the weight of the topic and offering her support.

Freen noticed Rebecca's initial surprise as she released her citrus pheromones into the air. When Rebecca realized she was releasing her own pheromones, Freen noticed an even greater astonishment wash over her features. But despite the surprise, Freen saw the gradual easing of tension in Rebecca's demeanor as she inhaled Freen's scent, and her nervous fidgeting gradually ceased. The citrus scent of Freen's pheromones seemed to have an immediate effect on Rebecca, softening the edges of her anxiety.

As the moment passed, the atmosphere lightened, dissolving the tension that had previously filled the room. The conversation seemed to pick back up naturally and both Freen and Rebecca seemed to have gotten lost to the conversation. As their conversation came to an end, Freen left the chamber with mixed emotions—excitement, anticipation, and a deepening sense of connection to the omega princess. Rebecca's willingness to open up had left an impression on Freen's heart.

Rather than retiring to her room, Freen decided to take a leisurely stroll through the palace gardens. As she walked, her mind buzzed with the memories of the discussion they had shared. The revelation of Lumina's unique tradition had struck a chord within her. As an omega, Freen had always felt a deep connection to her own emotions and the emotions of others, a sensitivity that allowed her to perceive the underlying currents of conversations.

As Freen continued to walk through the palace gardens, a faint scent of roses seemed to linger in the air. The sweet fragrance along with the soft rustling of leaves, created an ambiance that seemed to envelop her. Freen's senses recognized the scent, and a soft smile graced her lips. The memory of the intimate conversation with Rebecca lingered like the sweet perfume of roses, and Freen couldn't help but feel a deep sense of connection to the omega Princess. The gentle smile on Freen's lips deepened as she walked, the scent of roses accompanying her like a silent companion. Freen's heart was filled with a quiet sense of gratitude for the insight into Rebecca's world and the promise of what their connection could become.

With a final deep breath, Freen turned to leave the garden, carrying with her the memory of their conversation. As she walked back along the garden path, the scent of roses continued to weave its enchanting spell. She could not wait to plan her date with Rebecca. She had never planned a date before. All her previous dates have been planned by those chasing her.

But this time, it's different. It was her turn to plan a date and she didn't know where to even begin. Freen wanted to spend more time with Rebecca, to get to know her better before she could plan the perfect date. She wanted to learn more about the princess's interests, her favorite foods, and the little things that would make their time together truly memorable. But she figured that she would have no time for that if Rebecca was to go on dates with all the heirs present at the festival, along with being present at all the events there will be.

When she returned back to her room, it was already late. She wanted to spend some time figuring out some ideas for their date, but the weariness from the day's events started to settle in. Instead, Freen slumped into a chair by the window too tired to move. Sighing softly, Freen gazed out the window, allowing her thoughts to drift while she waited for her handmaiden.

She thought about the little she knew about Rebecca. Frustration crept in as she mulled over what she knew. "An omega, kind, generous, and concealing emotions," Freen muttered to herself.

"I know so little about her," she sighed inwardly, feeling the weight of her own ignorance. "How can I plan a date when I know hardly anything about her preferences?"

As Freen tried to remember more about Rebecca, a warm smile suddenly spread across her face when she suddenly remembered their meeting today. Rebecca's unexpected playfulness had indeed caught her off guard during their conversation. Despite the surprise, Freen had managed to tease Rebecca back, a memory that elicited a smile from her now.

"Teasing her was rather fun," Freen thought, her smile widening at the memory of Rebecca's flustered response to the playful banter. It was even more endearing with Rebecca blushing so easily making Freen want to tease Rebecca more. But she held back. Rebecca's unguarded reaction had only made Freen more curious about her. Then, there was that astonishing admission from Rebecca.

"And she's expecting our date," Freen mused, a mixture of disbelief and excitement bubbling within her. Freen couldn't believe Rebecca's admission then. And she still couldn't now. Rebecca's unexpected confession had stirred something within Freen, a fluttering sensation she couldn't quite explain. The memory of Rebecca's words lingered, teasing at the edge of Freen's consciousness, causing a small shiver of anticipation to dance down her spine.

Her thoughts drifted back to that moment again. Rebecca's revelation had been unexpected, catching her off guard. In that moment, an urge to draw closer had unexpectedly surged through Freen. She felt this sudden urge to kiss Rebecca. But she knew she shouldn't. Instead, she remembered the intensity of her gaze fixated on Rebecca, feeling the magnetic pull towards her.

"But I couldn't," Freen whispered to herself, acknowledging the restraint she had shown. Yet, the memory of that yearning gaze lingered vividly. Freen's heart raced as she remembered softening her intense stare, subtly flirting with Rebecca in return.

She replayed the moments in her mind, savoring the unexpected playfulness and the enticing dynamics that had unfolded between them. It was something that she did NOT expect but it was definitely something that she did not mind.

A sudden knock on the door startled Freen from her reverie, her handmaiden announcing her presence. With a subtle shake of her head to clear her thoughts, Freen composed herself, her mind still buzzing with the memories of their encounter. As her handmaiden was preparing the bath, the scent of roses seemed to linger in the air around Freen. The fragrance brought an unexpected smile to her lips yet again. Freen couldn't help but associate the sweet aroma with Rebecca. The mere scent of roses now evoked the image of Rebecca's playful smile and the subtle blush that adorned her cheeks.
