Chapter 35: Sickened by Scents

As Rebecca left the room, Freen's heart sank. Even though Rebecca would only be gone for a few hours, it left her feeling empty. Freen knew that her omega heat was subsiding, but it left her feeling vulnerable and desperately in need of the comfort and presence of Rebecca.

In her chambers, Freen found herself cocooned within her nest. Pillows and blankets surrounded her, providing warmth and a sense of security. She clung to the pillow that Rebecca had been sleeping on, the scent of roses still lingered in the pillow providing a bit of comfort.

With every inhale, she was reminded of the moments they had shared in that very room, and it filled the empty spaces in her heart. She ran her fingers along the soft pillow, as if seeking solace in its touch. The scent of roses, a reminder of Rebecca's presence, provided some comfort, but it couldn't replace the real thing.

Meanwhile, Rebecca hurried to her royal duties, her mind divided between the responsibilities of her role and the thoughts of the omega princess she had left behind. She couldn't help but worry about Freen, knowing that her omega heat had left her feeling vulnerable and in need of emotional support.

The festival, designed to find Rebecca a suitable partner, had brought them together in an unexpected way. Rebecca hadn't expected to fall in love with someone so quickly, especially with another omega, during the festival. She thought that she would end up choosing someone from the list of eligible suitors her parents had carefully selected for her, someone who would fulfill her duty to the kingdom while her heart remained untouched.

Finally, the sound of the door opening sent a rush of hope through Freen's body. She looked up to see Rebecca entering the room, a warm smile on her face. Rebecca crossed the room, and without a word, she joined Freen in the nest, wrapping her in a loving embrace. Freen clung to her, seeking the warmth and comfort that only Rebecca could provide.

"I missed you," Freen murmured softly, her voice barely above a whisper.

Rebecca's embrace tightened, as she buried her face in Freen's hair. "I'm sorry I'm late," she said softly. "The meeting ran a little longer than expected, but I rushed back as soon as I could."

"It's okay," Freen whispered back. "I'm just glad you're back now."

"I promise to make it up to you," Rebecca murmured, her thumb gently caressing Freen's cheek. "I'll do whatever you want to do today."

Freen's lips curved into a small. "I just want to cuddle with you."

Rebecca's eyes softened with affection at Freen's simple request. "Then cuddle it is."

She shifted to make herself more comfortable before pulling Freen into her embrace. They lay there with their limbs entwined and Freen rested her head against Rebecca's chest, listening to the steady rhythm of her heartbeat. Rebecca ran her fingers through Freen's hair, just happy to be together again after her long meetings.

As Rebecca held Freen close, Freen breathed in the familiar scent of Rebecca, feeling a sense of contentment wash over her. However, as she inhaled, she couldn't help but wrinkle her nose, detecting something unfamiliar in Rebecca's scent.

She tried to ignore it, focusing on the warmth of their embrace and the soothing sound of Rebecca's heartbeat, but the scent was making her feel nauseous and sick. She knew it wasn't Rebecca's fault, but the combination of alpha scents was affecting her physically.

She struggled to find comfort in their cuddling, but the overpowering aroma made her feel increasingly unwell. Freen closed her eyes, attempting to steady herself and not let the discomfort overwhelm the precious moments they had together.

Rebecca sensed the change in Freen's demeanor and pulled back slightly, her eyes filled with concern. "What's wrong?" she asked, her voice filled with worry.

Freen hesitated, struggling to find the words to express her unease. "It's not you... but your scent," she finally whispered, her voice soft and apologetic. "It's different and they're overwhelming me right now because of my heat, and it's making me feel sick."

Rebecca's expression shifted to one of deep remorse, her eyes widening in realization. "Oh, Freen, I'm so sorry," she said, her voice filled with regret. "I didn't realize it would affect you like this. I should have been more considerate."

Freen managed a weak smile and shook her head, her fingers reaching to caress Rebecca's cheek. "It's not your fault, Rebecca. I didn't know I would react this way either. It's just my heightened sensitivity right now."

Rebecca's concern remained, and she brushed a strand of Freen's hair away from her face. "I should have been more aware," she murmured, her voice filled with concern. "Is there anything I can do to make you feel better?"

Freen hesitated for a moment, her eyes searching Rebecca's. "Well," she began, her voice cautious, "I don't want to ask too much of you, but would it be alright if you took a bath to get rid of the scents?"

Rebecca nodded immediately, her eyes softening. "Of course I can," she replied, pressing a gentle kiss to Freen's forehead. "I'll be back soon. I'm going to head back to my room and get a change of clothes as well."

Rebecca gave her another reassuring kiss before gently extracting herself from their embrace. She left Freen's room, and the door clicked shut behind her.

-----------------

Minutes later, the door opened, and Rebecca returned, her freshly cleaned scent wafting in with her. She had changed into a different set of clothes, her appearance just as regal and beautiful as ever, but now without the conflicting alpha scents.

Rebecca approached Freen, her eyes filled with concern. "Is this better?" she asked, searching for any sign of relief in Freen's expression.

Freen took a deep breath and sighed with relief. "Much better," she confessed, her gratitude evident. She reached out her hand, and Rebecca took it, pulling her back into a gentle embrace.

Freen nestled against Rebecca's chest, inhaling the now familiar scent of roses. Freen let out a contented sigh, feeling the tension slowly dissipating from her body.

Freen looked up at Rebecca and smiled softly.

"What?" Rebecca asked.

"...Nothing. I just... like having you here. I wish we could stay like this forever," she whispered, her voice filled with longing.

Rebecca lifted her head slightly to meet Freen's gaze. "Me too," she murmured, her fingertips tracing delicate patterns on Freen's arm. "But, I would also very much like to go out and show you my kingdom more and hopefully, I can visit yours soon."

Freen smile widened at the thought of Rebecca visiting her kingdom. There was so much to share.

"I would love to see your kingdom," Freen admitted, her eyes alight with curiosity. "I want to see the places you love, the people you care for, and the world you've grown up in... I haven't had the time to explore beyond the palace here yet."

Rebecca's gaze softened with understanding, her thumb gently brushing Freen's cheek. "Then it's settled," she declared, a hint of excitement in her voice. "I'll be your tour guide once you're all better and we're both free."

Freen could see the excitement dancing in Rebecca's eyes, mirroring her own anticipation. Unable to contain her own happiness, she leaned in and pressed a sweet, lingering kiss on Rebecca's lips.

Rebecca's lips curved into a gentle smile as she returned the kiss, her hand gently cupping Freen's cheek. "I can't wait for you to see it all," she murmured against Freen's lips, her breath warm and sweet.

---------

Rebecca and Freen spent the next several days in Freen's room, cocooned in their nest, cuddling, and sharing kisses.

Rebecca still had her royal duties to attend to, and occasionally, she would need to leave for meetings. However, she made sure to take a bath before returning to Freen's room, making sure that her scent was free from the traces of other heirs that had previously caused Freen discomfort.

As the days passed, Freen's omega heat gradually subsided, much to her relief. The intense physical and emotional cravings that had consumed her were now fading. She was no longer overwhelmed by desire, and her need for Rebecca remained, but it was now a gentler, more familiar longing.
