CHAPTER 1
"Oh seriously?! Could she get any more clingy?" My best friend Susan snapped at the book she was reading.
I'm suprised that a hopeless romantic girl like her ,haven't ever read the book 'Twilight' before.
"I can't believe she is using him like some kind of doormat!" She raised her voice. "Poor Jacob!"
Out of the corner of my eye I saw Sylvia the librarian, narrowed her eyes at us through her thick rimmed glasses.
"Keep it down! Will ya? You are going to break her patience anytime soon," I hissed at her clearly pissed off. I have been trying to focus all my attention on the math problem before me.
I so regret dragging susan with me to the library.
"Seriously though, haven't she got any other things to do than watch us like a hawk?" she leaned toward me like she is going to say me something forbidden.
"I never seen her going out .Ever! Not even for lunch break. I swear she is a vampire," she said in a serious hushed tone.
I raised an eye brow.
"For your information she did go out for lunch break," I pointed out.
"Then she may have some kind of ring that help her walk in daylight. Like in vampire diaries?" she asked,
thoughtfully twirling a strand of her blonde hair.
I just stared at her, "You are crazy! Remind me to never bring you to the library again."
She grinned "That worked well."
And then her face turned to a serious expression. "Now, how about that large cappaccino you promised?" Susan demanded.
After I finally finished my math work. We head to the small Coffee shop, where I met susan, for the first time.
The coffee shop where our friendship started to blossom.
The only common thing we had is our undeniable addiction to coffee. Other than that our characters are totally in different dimensions. We argue about almost everything. Hell, I don't even know how we became bestfriends.
Susan parked her Mercedes Benz in the parking lot near the grocery store. The little cafe is sandwiched between the grocery store and the laundry mart.
The bell chimed above the door as we enter.t The wonderful aroma of coffee beans and choclate invades my nose.
We sat on our favourite booth at the corner, that has a good view of the outside.
There is something special about a cup of coffee, especially when you enjoy it in a public place and not at home.
The interior dećor of this place look modest with classic oak brown fittings, warm coffee brown paneled walls with a few antique decorations.
The waiter smiled and waved at us.
His name is David.
He is really cute with curly dark brown hair and wide hazel eyes, with freckles all over his nose. He goes to the same school we attend. Susan has this huge crush on him since she met him.
Right now Susan is waving at him, with a dreamy look on her face, looking like a love sick puppy.
"Hey guys, what are you two having today?" He asked with a cheery smile.
"I will have a large mocha, and a chocolate croissant."
"And I will have a large cappuccino with a sugar dougnut," she drawled giving him a flirty smile.
"Cool. I will be right back," he said, giving us a wink.
Susan sighed dramatically, "How can he be so clueless?" she wailed, pouting at his reatreating figure.
I pat her hand "There there."
She faked a sniff.
I looked outside the window. The sun is already starting to set, filling the sky with swirls of violet and gold.
It's been an year since we moved here.
An year since her death. Sometimes susan reminds me so much of her. Her ever present cheery tone and her craziness.
I'm not entirely being honest with Susan about myself. Will she ever be the same if I tell her my darkest secret? No. I dont think so.
I'm more afraid of her reaction.
She is the one and only amazing friend I got, and I'm not going to ruin it. For now.
