Hi guys back with an update ,hope it lives up to your expectations

Arnav Khanna looked at his exasperating friend, ever since his return last year everyone had been matchmaking and at that moment it was his friend with his sister in law .

" Dilip, I am sure your sister in law is lovely but not interested . Frankly I didn't leave my home and moved back miles away from them to have you start with your matchmaking . " Arnav spoke up, it has been three months since he joined his friend Law firm , his plans had always been to retire from the Army at the grand age of 30 and take over his father's Karma Consultancy .

But lately he had realized, life throw curveballs at you and change all your plan drastically . He no longer had any plans for his future except getting through to the next day , A sound of a knock on the main door disturbed his friend from his plans, and Arnav tried to get up and leave to his office .

Yet his bad leg had cramped up yet again making him very much aware of the pain that shot up through his leg when he tried to move, he didn't like it when others knew about it . So pretended to look into the files as he waited for his leg to begin functioning again.

" That must be my wife friend , Saranya told me about it and I all but forgot it " Dilip spoke towards him as he went to open the door, their receptionist had been on a leave which left the door duty to Dilip another task Arnav couldn't do with his bad leg .

" I leave, they would want their privacy " Arnav spoke up and slowly made himself get up as he walked towards the adjoining door that will lead to his office . But before he could turn the knob on his door , a sound of footsteps reached inside Dilip office . He knew it would be impolite to walk inside when someone entered so made himself to turn around and waited for Dilip to introduce him as a partner and then walk away .

But he was in no way prepared to come face to face with her after 6 years . Gauri Singhania , no Gauri Prasad . How he could he ever forget it . She stilled at the sight of him as well .

Gauri knew she won't be lucky enough to find solution to her problems as she climbed the stairs to the office of her friend husband . Saranaya worked with her in the preschool and somehow she went over her defense and became a good friend.

Gauri had never hated her husband more than she did right this moment, it has been three months since he died and yet she couldn't still believe he was really gone or that he had written such a stupid will .

" I am sorry Mrs Prasad, but your husband will is clear . And frankly even if we went to court the chances of us winning or less to none , I admit you were Rahul's mother but you have a past that could be used a liability against you , I promise to try my best but chances that you will win is less , I want you to be prepared for the outcome. " Kishore answered back when she visited him yesterday leaving her frustrated.

" It all in the past and I am his mother , I would never harm my son " She argued back but Kishore only shook his head in answer as he spoke up trying to make her see that it was always going to be a liability.

" Still it doesn't look good in paper, one victim of yours had severe broken ribs and had been admitted in the hospital for over three months and your son is just three years old " he reminded her and she knew the truth in his words, her past will make her look unhinged in courts ,she was still seeing a psychiatrist once every week .

Gauri had long ago accepted her limitations ,and yet she never thought it could be used against her to take away her son until now .

" Is there no other way ?" She asked at last drained of any energy to fight over the truth any longer ,her husband choose to trust his brother over her . Because why else would he make a will that .

" Well the chances are slim for you to win , and the only loophole is that you husband will mentioned the guardianship right can be passed over to your second husband if you ever remarried . Except that I have no other suggestions " Kishore answered and she laughed at the absurdity of her ever marrying again but the thought of losing her son was something she can't even think of at the moment.

So 24 hours later, she was climbing the stairs to yet another lawyer office to see if she had a chance of winning the custody battle . She knocked at the main door and waited for a minute before someone came to open the door . She felt the similar flicker of anxiousness to notice she was alone in the office with a stranger but over the years she had learnt to control her anxiety that it didn't show in her face as she greeted her friend Saranya husband .

" Let's go to my office , our receptionist is on leave and my wife didn't tell me much just that you have something to discuss with me " he spoke up as he led her towards his cabin but every rational thought fled her as she saw the room was already occupied by someone else and even before he turned around she knew she was looking at him ,the man who still owned her heart . Arnav Khanna.

" This is my partner Arnav Khanna , do you mind if he stayed as well . I am sure he will be able to prove his insight as well " Dilip kept talking but he couldn't move his eyes from her ,six years it has been six years since he saw her .

" No .. " a single word but he heard the anger behind the word . Of course he didn't know what he expected from her ,to greet her with a smile . After he learnt everything that transpired in his absence ,he didn't really expect her to welcome him with a smile ,she had practically disappeared from their lives as if she never existed but to him ,there hadn't been a single day he hadn't thought of her .

He made himself turn the knob as he stepped into his office but he was so happy to see her , she was here of all the places in the world . She was right here in the office next to him .

He knew she was married and yet why does his heart refuses to come to terms with the knowledge because he ran away from accepting the truth for so long but seeing her ,it brought every truth to the front that he ignored .

The next 30 minutes had been hell , to know she was right beside him . He wanted to talk to her ,apologize to her for being a coward who by  choosing his rules  lost her . Then his partner stepped in and his eyes looked behind him to see if she was still present . But his visitor seat had been empty which meant she left .

Gauri walked back home exhausted ,every bit of her energy had been drained after her encounter with him . She didn't want to see him ,she didn't want to feel anything and hated that her heart felt a flicker of relief to see him well .

Her father had told her about his return back when Arun was alive , he had been battling for his life that she couldn't leave him . And it was also better for Arnav to continue to hate her , she didn't move miles away from her family after marriage to go back to see him the moment he returned .

The house felt empty without her husband , she missed him so much . He had been her friend , and a amazing father to their son . He was everything she would want in an husband but her heart belonged to another and she would have felt guilty if not for the truth his heart belonged to his first wife as well till the end .

Her eyes found the photo frame that had the picture of three of them together , she walked upto it and her eyes misted with tears at the remainder he was gone from their lives . She wanted to hate him for putting her in trouble , Yet she found only happiness in the fact he was finally reunited with his wife and daughter .

Soon she made her way to check on her son ,her reason for living . She opened the door and found him asleep ,it hurt him so bad to lose Arun , the three year old couldn't understand why his father will never come back home .

She turned around to see Shilpa ,her son baby sitter waiting for her in his room . Gauri had been lucky to find her to look after her son and she had been also a good friend who was the only one aware of the battle ahead to protect her son .

Gauri should call her family ,let them know the truth but she didn't want them to worry not yet . As they were still shook up by Arun death three months ago .

And her thoughts went back to the man she loved , she wanted to stay away from him . She didn't want their paths to cross with each other but Gauri had always been unlucky when it comes to her wishes because the very next day ,she had found herself calling him .

She went to work leaving her son in his school and by the time she went back to pick him up ,she found him missing . The teachers told her that his uncle picked him up and she felt like her world was collapsing right in front of her ,she went to the police who refused to file complaint before 24 hours ,she went to her brother in law house and found it locked and she didn't know what to do .

She thought she had time to face everything , she just got the court notice three days ago yet her son had been missing . She didn't know why her hands went to call Saranya husband instead or ask him to hand over the phone to Arnav . Because inspite of the years apart from him ,she was the only one she still trusted to come to her aid .

" Hello " a single word from him and she froze at the sound of his voice , six years since she heard him speak and yet right now she had no time to think it through as she found herself talking non stop in an rush .

" I will send you the address can you come please , It urgent , Please Arnav ..I need your help " she didn't know if her words made any sense but she kept talking nevertheless .

" I am on my way Gauri ,relax ." he spoke up , she didn't know what he can do but when she found her son missing . She lost her mind and she knew she can't think rationally .
