Gooo! Dragons!

The cheer team are in full swing and the match has just begun.
White Dragons are off to a good start but most of the team players are new since the others are graduation today and were not allowed to play.
But whats pressing is that they face off against Bullriders who have been pretty good at winning.

"C'mon GDs!" The fellow team player yells

"GD?" I question looking at Eugene

"I bet he means Dragons"

"But wouldn't it be DG?"

Eugene shrugs off and we get back to watching the game.

Now that I sit in between the stands and see my own brother play, it really confuses me as to why do people even play this sport, its just running and clashing and piling over each other and it looks just nasty.

I shake the thought as I look at the time on my watch

"Its time" I tell Eugene and we leave.

We head to Arden's high and part ways, as he goes to take his place on the seat, I make my way to the commitee office where my topper is ready to give her speech.

"So I believe everything is ready?" Mr. Brooks questions us and we nod a yes

Ms. Kyler looks at me "I can be confident with my choice?"

I smiled "Ofcourse"

"Alright everyone we start in 10, go ahead and take your seats." Mr. Brooks rushes us off.

I head to the gymnasium and take my seat beside Eugene.

The commitee starts with their words of praise and speech and finally hands the mic over to our student representative.

As each name is called, everyone stood, the ones I knew, the ones I didn't and the ones who I never came across. Finally it was time for me, I stood and walked toward the stage, feeling the intense nervousness in my body afraid of the reactions but as I made my way up there, I look back and see my people, V, Matty, Rose, Jake and Eugene.

"Congratualtions Ms. Jade"

I smile and take my certificate, after I, V was called and she obviously managed to make it at the last minute in her cheer outfit. She takes her certificate and soon the stage is crowed with the white dragons and Jake holding the trophy in his hands.

The crowd sitting below with all the fellow team mates stood and cherred out loud, with much yelling and crying. The final win they got to see before they left. Jake picks V off her feet and interlock lips mid air, sending the entire crowd into a frenzy, it was chaotic but something worth remembering.

Finally after much calming down and laughs, it was time for the speech.

"Well here we are. It's finally the day where our high school sufferings come to an end." The crowd laughs in unison as some find it as a joke and some may actually relate.

"At some point in time" she continues "we always believed that we could conquer the world and we all had our own ways of doing it. Some hung out with the cool kids, some sat at libraries brushing up on their reading, some ran around the area with extracurriculums and what not but I'm sure at some point, we all stopped and looked around us. The way we started out and how far we got along, how typical strangers met and now prove to be the major reason of surviving high school"

Eugene and I share a glance and intertwine our hands

The representative looks at me before speaking and smiles "What isn't tough for us, the young generation of the world and we have already faced our trials although we know its not going to end here. The bickeries we've had, the memories we made, the good and the bad. For those who it has been great for, I hope those same memories will be carried forth by your people and for the ones who may have had it worse, I hope you meet with someone who can let you glide along the wind, the one who you can keep you head held high with and have no filters on, Just like me."

"Let us cherish these high schools moments even if it were a few and take them on as we walk out the gates of Arden's one last time. My friends, let us meet when this day comes again"

The crowd poured out cheers and applause
We stand and fling our caps into the air on cue with the representative and share hugs, smiles and tears.

After a while
I was relunctant and felt heavy but I knew I had to, with this thought I took my last step out the gates of the Arden's High School.

I look myself up and down the mirror in my off shoulder red backless gown and silver heels, my hair let down on one side and slight tint of pink gloss matched with my silver pendant and earrings.

"You ready?" V questions standing at the doorway with her emerald green gown and jewellery of the same shade with diamond stud, her hair was tied in a high bun and she was wearing a maroon lipstick.

I look at her and smile "Almost. Give me 5"

"Sure, Jake and Eugene are already here" she smiles back and heads down below.

After 5 mins, I make my way down and see Eugene smile at me

"You look gorgeous"

I blush and peck him on the cheeks "You look good yourself"

We head out and get into the back seat, we hold hands and I stare at the ring he always wear taking me back to the conversation the previous night

"What so you mean you're not a true Goldberg?"

He stands up pacing back and forth in frustration and sighs

"You see this ring I wear, its the family ring and I in particular have to wear it because I'm not a true Goldberg"

"Okay hold on, calm down, make me understand. Are you not their-"

"Stop." He cuts me off

"Not now, I will tell you but wait for me. Just until prom night is over because I don't want to ruin it"

I snap away at my thoughts with V's suuden outburst of laughs

Even though it kills me with curiosity of the actual story, I agreed that I would wait until prom was over.

We pull into the gates of Mansion Banquet and V hands the keys to the valet, we make our way in arms with our partners and fawn over gold tint interior and marble flooring, we walk down the big stairs and take a seat close to the dance floor. The teachers are in clear sight making sure no one ruins the mood and the fruit punches are easily getting mixed with all the possible liquor that is being hidden.

"This reminds of the first night we went out" Eugene whispers to me over the music

I smile and reminnence back the night that started it all

"This is nothing like that night atleast here with no family drama"

We laugh together and after a while decide to head to the dance floor, sure this was prom but it wasn't something that stopped the Dj from playing every rock song possible. We had dance battles between Jake and I because he did miss his first win party with his team just to accompany V so he should be able to have his fill of fun.

Parched with all the dancing, I make my way out to get some fresh air.
I stand at the ledge of the area where the city was panned out.
I felt someone stand behind me at a distance and when I turned around, it was Lance

I furrow at him
He shrugs "I deserve to go to prom just as much as you"

"Well I wasn't the one punching people in their guts"

He laughs out loud.

"Don't think Eugene will have your back for a long time, one can't be sure of the person they are with" Saying this, he leaves into the hall and I see Eugene walk out

"What did he want?" he questions worried

I shrug "Nothing important"

"You let me know if he gives you trouble"

I laugh "alright"

I wrap my arms around his neck and peck his lips

Suddenly we hear the very first song we danced together at

City of Stars

We knew it and started moving to the tune,
With my head resting on his chest and his arms around my waist
Dancing in the night, under the starry blue skies.

But amidst all the glory
What urked me were the untold stories and the change after this night
